Double K, Double Princess: Royal Thunderstorm vs Double K

Elimination Tag Team Match: Both members of the opposing team must be defeated to win the match. Standard rules apply otherwise.

Noelle Silva and Ishtar Vasiliev hadn't fought together in some time. They had fought on each other's behalf when their partner was wrong in a way they couldn't rectify personally, fought in solidarity with one another when the other was pressured into a match type she wasn't exactly comfortable with. But this was the first time in awhile that they actually shared the ring together.

That isn't to say they haven't been working and training together. Their teamwork and chemistry is on as high a level as it's ever been, and both princesses have only improved as wrestlers in the time since Noelle and Ishtar last teamed. They had yet to be bested while fighting together, and they would make sure that wouldn't stop today.

Music: Thunderstruck - ACDC

Their music came on. Technically, it was Ishtar's music, since it was also her singles match song, but Noelle had long since agreed that there was nothing better suited for a thunderstorm themed team. The duo held a pair of clasped hands up in the air between them as the walked down the ramp to the ring. Noelle's fully extended arm compared to Ishtar's bent arm made it all the more clear how the Russian towered slightly more than a half foot over her partner, but nobody who had seen the Spaniard fight would believe that Noelle was any less of a threat than Ishtar in the ring.

Compared to their opponents, the two members of Double K were a lot more alike than they were different. Not only were Kristin and Kaoru of similar build, they also were alike in style - which owed to their shared background as former rivals in Olympic wrestling. And while Royal Thunderstorm hadn't fought alongside one another in some time, Double K did almost everything together. They were a couple as much as they were a tag team, and they had vowed to support each other in everything they did, in the ring or out of it. That cohesion was going to be their biggest strength, and they were looking to put it to the test today.

The two girls entered the ring side by side. On their way down the ramp, they each lifted an arm, entwining the two as they held their fists to the sky to the sounds of cheers calling out from all around them. When they got onto the apron, they pulled each other into a kiss before breaking away. Kaoru placed her hands on Kristin's shoulders, facing her with a grin. "You ready for this, Kris?"

The blonde nodded her head. ""course I'm ready."

"Alright! Then you can go first!~"

"...Goddammit." Kristin realized a moment too late that she'd been played by her girlfriend's more flippant attitude, and she let out a sigh. Still, as Kaoru smacked a hand against her behind with a giggle, the Canadian pulled herself through the ropes, rolling out her shoulders as she approached the center of the ring. Whether or not she'd volunteered under her own free will, she was still a determined wrestler, and she was still going to treat this match with the dignity it deserved.

"Which of you two is up first?" she asked, settling her gaze on the opposing team.

Noelle and Ishtar had an established strategy which accounted for their lead, so the royal duo had no need for discussion before Noelle stepped into the ring to open the match. "That would be me, Noelle Silva," said the Spaniard. "A pleasure to be facing you." That said, the silver haired girls had discussed some possible tweaks to the usual plan. Normally, Noelle would spend much of a matches' beginning holding down the action, trying to wear down the opposing team so Ishtar could follow up as the hammer to put the match away. But Noelle had gotten a lot more dangerous in finishing opponents as she made her way to the status of Lightweight title contender. So the European team were tinkering with a more balanced approach where either of them could score falls regularly.


With battle lines drawn, the bell rang to get the action underway. Noelle wasn't looking to be especially aggressive or defensive. If Kristin took to one extreme herself, the Spaniard was prepared to respond accordingly. But otherwise, Noelle was happy to take a measured opening to the match. She had full confidence that she could build an advantage for her team without needing to either explode on her opponent or turtle up and stall.

Kristin crossed her arms as she stepped up toward Noelle, sizing the girl up. At the least, Noelle seemed to be nice enough about it, politely introducing herself. Even if Kristin had been volunteered against her will, she was at least against an opponent who was treating her with respect. "Likewise," she said, nodding her head to her opponent. "But I still intend to win."

The referee stepped in, checking the two girls for any foreign objects and instructing them back into their corners. Kristin rolled out her shoulders and her neck, getting in a few last-minute stretches, but the whole while her gaze on Noelle never broke.

*DING DING DING*

And when the bell rang, Kristin was looking to make a strong showing right away. She crouched down into a stance as she made her way toward Noelle, her arms extended for a lockup - but as soon as she came into range, she would suddenly attempt to swerve behind her foe, where she'd attempt to throw an arm around her throat to get her in a sleeperhold!

Noelle would have been satisfied by opening the match with a lockup. Faced with an opponent her size, the princess had plenty of confidence in her strength. But of course, a lock up was not what Kristin would give her. Instead, the blonde tried to hook an arm around Noelle's throat while slipping in behind the silver haired Spaniard.

Fortunately, Noelle would be up for the curveball thrown her way. With admittedly little time to spare before Kristin would have locked in her chokehold, Noelle caught Kristin's arm by the wrist and held it back from her throat. Recognizing the need to take action before her opponent could strike at her from behind, Noelle would attempt to reverse the position by getting behind Kristen herself. In doing so, Noelle would attempt to take Kristin's arm with her to twist it into a Hammerlock, before using her other arm to go for a choke of her own.

Both Kristin and Noelle were well-practiced grapplers, and both of them were looking to put those skills to the test. Kristin was looking to take advantage of the lockup by pulling her opponent into a chokehold, but Noelle had over ideas, spinning behind her to twist her arm behind her back! The Canadian winced as she felt the pressure on her joints, but her pained groans were soon silenced as Noelle threw her other arm around her throat, squeezing down on it for a sleeperhold of her own!

Kristin hissed against the pain, her face growing red under the pressure. But she still wasn't about to surrender so easily. She began to twist herself back and forth, rocking her body against Noelle's grip to try and force some space between them. If she could do that, she'd swing a kick behind her, aiming for Noelle's knee to try to trip her up - and if that worked, she'd duck forward in an attempt to catapult Noelle over her back and into the canvas!

Noelle had been able to succeed where Kristin failed in locking in a Chokehold from behind. Yet just because she had locked in her hold, did not mean that the princess was home free by any means. Kristin squirmed and twisted against Noelle's grip until she felt the time was right to buck the Spaniard's knee with the back of her heel.

With Noelle successfully destabilized, Kristin would also find success in throwing her silver haired foe over her back. Noelle assumed something like this was coming after the kick to her knee, so she did what she could in order to not give Kristin a dominant position to take over the match from. That being, holding on to both her grips as tightly as she could.

By keeping hold of Kristin's neck and arm, Noelle would drag the blonde down with her as she hit the mat. Once that happened, Noelle would let go of the Hammerlock and contribute her other arm to the choking cause, thus locking in a proper Rear Naked Chokehold. Which Noelle would supplement by locking her thighs around Kristin's waist to add on a Bodyscissor. That said, being thrown over somebody and to the floor was poor conditions for keeping your grip. So there would be a moment before Noelle would lock in her Rear Naked Chokehold where her grip would be lose enough that Kristin could break free if she recognized the opportunity, and then trashed hard enough
