Apex vs. Sirya - Can I Get a Volunteer?

Kicking out was the right instinct to follow, as Apex had intended to pin her down then and there. Maybe. In reality, he wasn't going to let the match end that early, even if he'd completely flattened her with that slam. The audience paid to see a show, and they're just getting started. And when she kicked away to roll aside, Apex would lift to his full height again imperiously.

He shoots her a fangy sneer, then looks out at the crowd. His left fist raises high in the air, nodding to them, accepting their praise - but mostly their scorn. After all, they may enjoy the brutality of the fight, but she was hauled in here against her will! They're more sympathetic to her being forced into this predicament!

Apex's dark purple gaze turns back to Sirya as his arm lowers. "Ready to take back that remark?," he asks, with full confidence that it'll just stir her to send more sass.

Sirya rolled over to the edge of the ring and got to her feet, none the worse for wear. She looked back at Apex and met him only with a snarl, quickly bounding back into a stance. Yeah, her back still hurt a little, but she wasn't going to let that bother her. She was out of his clutches, and that was more important. She could live with a little pain.

Apex glared back at the girl, and she met his gesture with one of her own, although with her size it probably came across as less intimidating. Not that it seemed to matter, as the skunk proceeded to play up to the crowd. This proved confusing to Sirya, who tilted her head in bewilderment. Couldn't he see that this was, you know, a fight? That if he stopped to do some stupid little dance like that, his opponent would just close in and go for the kill? Just what was he doing, and what was he trying to accomplish with it? To someone like Sirya, who barely had any knowledge of human contact, all it did was confuse and annoy her.

He tried to taunt her again, but Sirya remained firm, standing as tall as she could manage and crossing her arms. "No!" she shouted. "You're stupid! I don't have to be afraid of you!" She wasn't going to advance on Apex just yet - regardless of the situation, she was still waiting for the pain in her sides to reside, and stalling would allow her more time for that. But she wasn't going to let some dumb animal tell her what to do. She would stand defiant, just as she did with everything else in her life.

"You will be."

Apex's head cants and he offers her a fangy smile.

"You will be."

Pageantry aside, Apex is amused by Sirya's continued defiance. He would've expected the girl to be more cautious. But here she is, still throwing sass. Sure, he's going to continue to beat on her for that crack she made about him until he's satisfied that she regrets the insult, but he's been of a 'dual mind', so to speak, long enough that he can look at this from a position outside of anger. She's spirited. That's always good.

The skunk closes in, his hands raising and fingers splaying.

"Now come here."

Once he reaches her, Apex intends on lashing out with those hands in an attempt to forcefully grapple with her at the collar and shoulder. The immediate course of action would be an effort to shove her down to the mat on her side like the brute he is! Something to keep her off balance, to open her up for more punishment!

Despite Apex's attempts to intimidate Sirya, the girl remained firm, turning her head way from him with a huff. Even if he thought he could taunt her, she wasn't letting him have the pleasure. That'd be how she'd get back at him.

As Apex got into a stance, Sirya looked back at him and nodded. Though she didn't seem to know all that much about what she was doing, she seemed to be settling into the rhythms of the match well enough, and she could understand an offer to lock up when she saw one. Sirya closed in and matched Apex in position, at least as much as she could given the height difference between the two. She snorted to the skunk to show she wasn't going to take this lying down, but all the same, despite her agility, Sirya's frame wasn't really built for bearing against weights, and she was shoved down on her side.

However, even off her feet, Sirya had no intention of letting her opponent walk all over her. Before he could close in, she went to throw a kick in his direction as she snarled in a low voice, hoping to clip him in the side.

It may be a one-way-street, but Sirya's seeming willingness to get with the program is earning her some points; with the crowd, and with Apex. He couldn't let her or the audience see that, but it's there, for what it's worth. They lock up, and in short order, the dark-haired girl is thrown down to the mat.

Apex gives a derisive snort, and he closes in to follow up, arm raised to the audience again to draw attention to his ability to physically overpower her. But as he closes in, he gets nailed in the side by a kick! The skunk grunts and backs up a few steps from her, his smirk having adjusted into something closer to a scowl for interrupting the showboating. He closes in again, this time at a much quicker rush. He leads in with his right leg chambered, which drives down in an attempt to stomp into the smaller girl's midsection!

Sure enough, Sirya's kick landed where she had wanted it, and the girl smirked up from the mat. She knew that she couldn't avoid ending up off her feet, but she wasn't going to try and force herself to work against nature. Instead, she'd take advantage of her relative strengths and positioning from where she was, and this would be no exception. With her quick movements, she was sure she'd be able to wear him down.

Sirya began to roll onto her side, reading herself to follow up the lead she had started. She was just about ready to jump to her feet when suddenly she felt Apex's foot swing forward and connect with her stomach, causing her to buck forward. "Guh-! Ow!" she sputtered, thrown back onto her side.

It wasn't quite the stomp Apex was looking for, but it'll do! It jostled the girl, and she's not springing back up so quick now! This time, rather than take a moment to goad the audience, the skunk continues right along to the next move. Part of him wants to just move on with the match and beat the outsider, but a part of him wants to see if she's capable of resisting a pin after he's nailed her with something harder than a strike.

He reaches down to grab a fistful of her long black hair near her scalp. With a yank, he attempts to drag the girl up to her feet and jerk her head under his arm. His free hand sets to her hip, gripping her by her bottoms. With a single, sharp motion, he attempts to whip the girl into the air in an arc to slam her back down behind him on the mat in a snap suplex!

Sirya panted, lying on the mat as she tried to get the air back in her lungs. As much as she hated to admit it, Apex hit hard. She wouldn't want to be at the wrong end of his blows.

Before she could fully recover, Sirya felt Apex's hand grip her hair and haul her upwards with enough force to snap her out of her stupor, forcing her to her feet. "Oww! Hey! Careful-!" she snapped, impotently flailing in place and trying to kick at the skunk with her arms and legs, to little success. It wouldn't be hard for Apex to pull her closer and get her in position to suplex her right over his shoulder. Though Sirya tried to kick at him even as she was held against his side, the girl couldn't do much to prevent him from bringing her down to the mat with enough force to shake it as she bounced off. "Whoah-!" she cried out before settling into place with a low groan, in a daze. Her head was swimming, she felt, and she had a hard time focusing her attention on anything around her now that it felt like the place wouldn't stop spinning.

Obviously the skunk wouldn't be careful with his handling of her beyond the bare basic level of caution to not risk serious injury. Some fighters in the roster don't mind injuring their opponents. Apex, despite the image he puts forward, prefers things be kept at a sporty level of entertainment. That's not to say opponents didn't tend to be in bad shape once they left the ring, though. Sirya would be no different, if he had his way.

Apex releases her and twists over onto hands and knees to look down at the slender girl's prone body. He moves to her side, then throws himself across her body. White-furred six-packed abdominals press down across her bare stomach. His left elbow props himself on the ring, his right arm reaching back to hook her thigh to draw the leg into the air, and his back arches to grind his stomach against hers.

First pinfall of the match. Would it be the only one? What kind of shape is she in now?

The referee drops beside the pair to begin the pinfall. His hand raises, then strikes the mat. "One!"

After such a hard landing, particularly considering how she wasn't exactly built for taking hard hits, Sirya wasn't in very good shape to fight back, and she was focused on catching the air back in her lungs after the impact, panting fast. So it wasn't any surprise that she didn't do much to avoid Apex getting down on top of her. The feeling of his fur brushing against her skin tickled her at first, and she tensed for a moment. But then, the skunk grabbed her leg to hook her up, sending her shoulders back against the canvas.

And then, some guy was...counting? Sirya, not being one with much exposure to the rules of wrestling, wasn't sure what was going on. However, she could figure that it wasn't a good thing for her. She was well aware that in the wild, a predator pouncing on top of its prey like Apex was doing to her was fully in control, having its target at its mercy. That wasn't a position she wanted to be in, and she wanted to be out of it as soon as possible. The girl's survival instincts kicked in almost instantly, and she was back in the wilderness, defending herself against a wild beast. A rush of adrenaline coursed through her, and she kicked up her thigh and hips to force herself out of Apex's clutches!
