Sonny slumped onto the canvas as the crossface was released. Her body had been arching, so the sudden release caused her to hit her temple against the canvas, ended up sprawled on the canvas.

Her back rising and falling, but she wasn’t out—Sonny was taking her time to catch her breath and gather her thoughts, but she wasn’t out and wasn’t anywhere near giving up!

The referee approached to ask if she was all right, if she could carry on. But she didn’t reply; she simply began to get up, getting onto her hands and knees. It was obvious she was exhausted despite barely being given any room to fight, and the worst part was that she still hadn’t managed to land a single hit on Jessica. Even so, she forced herself to put that thought out of her mind and focus on getting back to her feet.

Now she was hunched over, her hands on her knees, and grateful that Jess had given her some space.

“You’re… really heavy,” she stammered. “Why don’t you take it a bit easier?” Ash Bunny suggested, still in pain. “We can… take it easy, can’t we?”

She was trying to be diplomatic. She even mustered the strength to straighten up a little and raise her hands in an invitation to a Test of Strength.
