First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Post by Letta »

Standard Match Winner decided by Pinfall, Submission, or KO

At last. This was the day Laxia von Roswell had been waiting for. Her first official match. Her LAW debut. The first tangible step toward reclaiming the honor of her fallen house. Standing before the locker-room mirror, Laxia carefully adjusted the bright orange locks framing her face before checking the ribbons holding the rest of her elaborate hairstyle in place. Her reflection remained calm and composed, but the subtle intensity burning behind those blue eyes betrayed just how much this moment meant to her. She was eager, perhaps more eager than a lady of her upbringing ought to display.

Success in LAW could not come quickly enough. Victories would bring recognition. Recognition would bring influence. And once she possessed enough influence within the organization… searching for the mysterious figure supposedly concealed somewhere among its personnel would become considerably easier. Tonight, she would begin building that influence. Laxia lowered her gaze toward the attire LAW had provided, unable to hide her bewilderment. It bore little resemblance to what she had requested, far more revealing, daring, and provocative than anything she would have knowingly approved. There must have been some clause buried in the contract she had neglected to read. That damned contract… By professional wrestling standards, perhaps it was hardly scandalous. To Laxia, however, the fitted white-and-gold spandex felt almost indecent, boldly emphasizing the graceful curves shaped by years of ballet, fencing, riding, and disciplined training. She drew a slow breath, calming the heat in her cheeks. When she opened her eyes again, her embarrassment had hardened into determination.
Wrestling Attire
Laxia took one last breath before turning away from the mirror. “Very well…” Moments later, she stood at the Gorilla Position, waiting just beyond the curtain as the muffled noise of the arena rolled through the walls. Her posture was immaculate. Her chin remained lifted, her shoulders squared, and her expression perfectly controlled. Only the faint rhythmic tapping of one boot against the floor revealed the energy she was holding back. The stagehand raised a hand. Three, two, one… The arena lights dimmed as the ring announcer raised the microphone.

“The following contest is scheduled for one fall!”
Lindsey Stirling - Shadows
A modest cheer rose from the audience, gradually building as the opening violin notes of her theme swept through the arena. Bright and elegant at first, the melody quickly gathered momentum over a driving percussive beat.“Introducing first! Making her official LAW debut!” the announcer continued. “Standing at a height of five feet seven inches, and weighing in at one hundred and forty-four pounds!” One by one, the lights lining the entrance ramp came alive, illuminating a path toward the ring. “From Bel Air, California!” Golden pyrotechnics erupted on either side of the stage, their glittering sparks cascading down around the entranceway, a poised silhouette appeared behind the curtain. “The Lightning Noble…!”The music swelled as Laxia stepped out onto the stage, lifting her chin beneath the converging spotlights.

“LAXIA…!”

The audience responded with a cheer. Not a particularly impressive one. The arrival of a debuting wrestler always inspired some degree of curiosity, but Laxia’s name had yet to carry any weight within LAW. A few spectators applauded politely. Others waved toward her from their seats. Many seemed uncertain of precisely who they were looking at. Laxia allowed none of her disappointment to reach her expression. She answered the waving spectators with a restrained smile and a graceful nod, proceeding down the ramp with the composed gait of a woman entering a ballroom rather than an arena. Every step was deliberate. Every gesture polished. Still, she could hear the difference between courtesy and genuine excitement. And this reception was well below her expectations…

Upon reaching the ring, Laxia climbed onto the apron and slipped smoothly between the ropes. She straightened again and surveyed the arena from its center. Several spectators had already returned to their conversations. One man rose from his seat, apparently deciding that the unknown rookie’s entrance presented an ideal opportunity for a restroom break. Others busied themselves with food or drinks as though the time before the match were merely an intermission. A faint crease appeared between Laxia’s brows. Yet capturing the attention of the public had always been considered one of an aristocrat’s many responsibilities. A true lady did not simply expect admiration, she gave the people a reason to offer it. Laxia’s eyes shifted toward the nearest corner, then she moved. She broke into a sudden sprint, crossing the ring with startling acceleration. One boot struck the bottom rope, the next found the middle, and within a heartbeat she had ascended to the top turnbuckle in one seamless motion. The speed alone drew several heads in her direction. What came next held them there. Laxia rose until she was standing upright upon the very top of the turnbuckle, both boots balanced upon the narrow surface. Her posture remained perfectly straight, without so much as a tremble passing through her legs.

The man eating in the front row slowly lowered his food. Spectators who had previously ignored her nudged their neighbors, pointing toward the orange-haired woman poised high above the ring. Conversations faded as more and more eyes turned toward her. Only when she was certain she had their attention did Laxia extend one arm gracefully to the side and offer the audience a small, elegant bow. Then she leaned backward. Laxia launched herself from the turnbuckle, rotating through a flawless backflip before landing lightly upon both feet in the center of the ring. She absorbed the impact with a graceful bend of her knees before rising again, one arm folded neatly behind her back. This time, the cheers were considerably louder. Better… Laxia offered the audience one final nod before retreating toward her corner. As she began loosening her shoulders and stretching her legs, her attention shifted from the crowd to the darkened entrance stage. Her thoughts turned toward the opponent described in her briefing.

Bandita.

A young luchadora several years her junior, yet far from the complete novice Laxia herself technically remained. Quick, acrobatic, evasive.. and already accustomed to performing beneath the lights of a professional wrestling ring. And then there was that name. Bandita. A rather unapologetic name for a thief. Could the answer she sought truly have presented itself so plainly? Surely the culprit responsible for House Roswell’s downfall would not be foolish enough to advertise her criminal nature through her ring persona. Then again, perhaps that was precisely what made it an effective disguise. The name alone proved nothing, but enough to earn Laxia’s interest. It was unlikely, almost absurdly so. But still worth investigating.

Perhaps fortune had placed the mysterious thief before her in her very first match. Perhaps the long search that had brought her to LAW would end far sooner than she had anticipated… Or perhaps Bandita was merely an enthusiastic young wrestler burdened with a suspiciously theatrical name. Either way, Laxia intended to learn more once the bell rang. She finished stretching and settled into her corner, lightly bouncing upon the balls of her feet as her sapphire eyes remained fixed upon the entranceway. Her expression had returned to its composed, dignified calm, but an unmistakable spark of anticipation now shone beneath it. Her debut was about to begin. And whether Bandita proved to be a thief, a clue, or simply the first obstacle standing in her path, Laxia von Roswell intended to overcome her. “Come, then, Bandita…” she murmured, her lips curling into a faint, confident smile. “Let us see whether that name is merely for show...”

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Post by CyanDimitrik »

Meanwhile, backstage, the 'thief' in question is just outside of the gorilla position. She's bent forward, smiling, with one hand propped to her thigh, the other hand engaged in ruffling the hair of a much younger boy. A much older woman with graying hair tightly bundled into a bun looks on with obvious fondness.

"I can skip it! It's fine!," huffs the little boy in Spanish, his left hand raised to bat at the ruffling above.

"You can afford to miss one match!," giggles Bandita, likewise in Spanish. "Besides, it'll be on streaming and stuff later! You're lucky they made the appointment this late!"

Another wrestler passes by, giving the group an inquisitive stare. Bandita reacts by quickly straightening her posture and distancing herself from the two, lips thinned into a neutral line until the woman clears the hall. Then: a sigh, all at once releasing the tension.

"Sorry, mija," says the older woman with a wince. "We thought it would be clear by now."

"It's okay, it's okay!," soothes Bandita with gentle air-pats of her palms. "I'm glad I could see you all before my match!"

The woman sighs with a tense smile, still clearly nervous. She sets a hand over the little boy's shoulder to steer him backwards closer to her voluminous dress skirt. "Are you sure it'll be alright? It's... covered?"

A pained look crosses Bandita's features briefly, and she takes a single, decisive step forward. "It'll be okay," she says resolutely. And more quietly, "We'll be okay."

The woman seems to fret with that answer a few seconds before letting her cool gaze briefly drop. When she looks to Bandita again, it's with a renewed, warm smile. "Okay," she repeats back to her. "But do you have to wear so little?"

The sudden twist causes Bandita's eyes to widen and a rush of color hitting her cheeks. "Aayy, don't say weird things before my match, Wela! Vamanos, go, go, I'll see everyone tonight!" Her arms flail in a shooing motion, much to the delight of both grandmother and grandson.

Fortunately for Bandita, Lola chose to relent and lead Diego away, briefly flashing backstage passes to security along the way. The luchadora watches them depart before pouting out her bottom lip and sharply looking down at her attire. It took about halfway through the first year to stop feeling self-conscious in front of her family in wrestling gear. It didn't stop them from periodically picking on her over it here and there, however.

As she distractedly picks at the silky fabric of her crimson sash with an internal grumble, she suddenly realizes her opponent's music is playing. In a flash of panic, she turns to rush into position. She's met with a briefly annoyed look from the stagehand and flashes a sheepishly apologetic smile, all bright teeth and closed eyes.

The crowd briefly pops. Her eyes open and she peers towards the monitor curiously, only to be reminded why she hates these things. It's state of the art and ultra fancy, but it's always too far back! And whatever happened to elicit the response, the cameraman clearly wasn't expecting it! He didn't get all of it! How frustrating!

Then things start to go quiet. The lights in the arena dim.

The massive screens come alive with a fiery motif and scrolling, bold flame-brazened text, interspersed with shots of the young Latina dramatically hitting an entrance ramp.

VIVA
BANDITA

The audience has had time to get to know the luchadora. They've had a chance to experience her high-octane style of wrestling and theatric, even bombastic personality. She's the sweetheart bandit. The lovable rogue. The thief of hearts. They've come up with a plethora of names for her, and a couple poster boards being raised shows even a few in this Japanese crowd have fully embraced the gaijin.

When the teen emerges from the curtain, it's with a few precise, sweeping steps, ending in a half spin to present a profile angle to the audience. A pair of bright spotlights converge over her, and with her head angled low, the brim of her bolero hat casts a dramatic shadow over her visage - assuredly a deliberate choice. The slit in her flamenco skirt reveals a mostly bare, toned leg, frilly boot tapping its heel upon the stage in beat with the music.

A playfully coy smile brightens the visible half of her face.

The skirt flares as she sharply pivots, one hand raised on point as she begins stepping with fluid, rolling grace in a samba dance to the tune. A series of fiery pyros ignite at four points around the stage perimeter, illuminating the features not only of the Latina, but the first several seats closest the stage. Then: the moment the audience most anticipates with Bandita's entrances. A twirl, and twist, and the leather bullwhip hitherto played down has suddenly come to the fore, unfurling with a sharp *CRACK* into the air before her. The dance becomes an ensemble performance with the whip as her partner, flaring, flashing between the flames, snaking and coiling around her body before *CRACK!* snapping out again in a dizzying display of finesse and control.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Image
The final step is a firm, forward stomp right the right foot, her hip turned forward and the whip *CRACK*ing a final time. A flick of the wrist guides the whip backwards, coiling in on itself and rolling back to her palm. Then both arms raise, her chin tipped back, radiant smile worn as she basks in the awed praise of the audience.

"AND HER OPPONENT!," begins the announcer.

Bandita starts down the ramp, favoring the left side of the aisle to slap a series of enthusiastic high-fives.

"Standing at a height of 5'6"! And weighing in at 117 lbs.!"

"From Cancún, México!"

"La Bonita Bandolera~!"

"BAAAANDIIIIITAAAA!"

Upon reaching the edge of the ring, the girl races around the perimeter to deposit her hat and whip upon the announcer's table. By now, they've come to expect it - as well as the perky little wink and blown kiss to follow.

Turning to the ring again, Bandita hurries to its edge, grabs onto the middle rope, and smoothly sweeps herself up onto the apron. Her grip transfers to the top rope, and without missing a beat, the girl pops into the air to vault up and over the cable, flamenco skirt aflare. It doesn't stop flaring as the girl instantly springs into a handless cartwheel, legs scissoring through the air before landing neatly at the center ring.

Back arched, power stance hit, Bandita throws her pointer finger high into the air above with a radiant smile. The praise and excitement hits the ring in waves, and it's all Bandita can do to just stand in it, absorb it, let it wash against her, through her; God, it felt amazing. Nothing like it.
The pointer finger starts to lower, leveling first out over the audience. Then suddenly diverting to direct the point at Laxia in a single, crisp motion - as if calling her out. Only it's immediately undermined by the bright giggle to follow, and finger-wiggle-wave from the opposite hand. She turns to head into her corner opposite the ginger, loosening the sash of her skirt to remove the thick folds of material, bundle it quickly, and deposit it out onto the edge of the ring.

Finally, she turns to lean back into her corner, offering a leg forward one at a time for the referee-girl's inspection while her hands hold the top ropes at either side. In the meantime, her hazel-green gaze has landed on Laxia again. Her expression may be difficult to read in this moment as she watches her, clearly studying her. The wheels are turning, but what exactly is going on in her mind?

That'll probably be revealed quite soon.

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Post by Letta »

Just as the cheers for Laxia began to die down, the arena lights dimmed once more. Flames roared across the massive screens as footage of her opponent began to play, and moments later, the young luchadora emerged from behind the curtain. The crowd erupted the instant she appeared. The roar that shook the arena was noticeably louder than the reception Laxia had received only moments earlier. Considering Bandita had already made a strong impression through her previous matches, perhaps such a reaction was only natural. Even so, that did not make it any less difficult to ignore. Laxia carefully kept her expression composed, though she could not completely conceal the wariness creeping into her gaze as she watched her opponent. The Latina luchadora captivated the stage and the audience in a manner entirely different from Laxia. She strode forward with broad, confident steps before turning halfway to present her profile, and at that exact moment, two spotlights converged upon her. The timing was so precise that it seemed meticulously calculated. The brim of her bolero hat cast a deep shadow across her face, and the audience began to stir as though they could hardly bear to wait another second to glimpse the expression hidden beneath it. Laxia found herself feeling much the same. Each gentle sway of the flamenco skirt offered a subtle glimpse of the toned leg beneath its slit. When a playful smile finally emerged from the shadows, another tremendous cheer filled the arena. Then flames burst to life around the stage.

CRACK - !

At the center of it all, Bandita drew her leather whip and snapped it through the air, causing Laxia’s shoulders to flinch before she could stop herself. The whip moved like a living serpent, winding around the luchadora’s body and weaving between the flames before lashing outward once more with another sharp report. Laxia found herself reacting ever so slightly each time it cracked, until at last she silently watched Bandita guide the whip back into her hand and raise both arms high above her head. As the dazzling solo performance came to an end, the cheers of an utterly captivated audience shook the arena. And as reluctant as she was to admit it, Laxia had been every bit as entranced by Bandita’s showmanship. The young luchadora continued to build the crowd’s excitement as she made her way toward the ring, slapping hands with the fans along the aisle. Upon reaching the ring, she vaulted over the ropes with an agility befitting her name, immediately following it with a hands-free cartwheel before landing lightly in the center. Arching her back into a powerful stance, Bandita thrust one finger high into the air, drawing yet another surge of cheers from the crowd.

Laxia watched the entire spectacle unfold before her from inside the ring. Bandita had already turned the stage and the audience entirely in her favor, overwhelming Laxia before the match had even begun. Perhaps she had been far too naïve in her understanding of professional wrestling. Simply defeating an opponent inside the ring was not enough. A wrestler had to seize the audience’s attention, move their hearts, and ensure that their name would not be forgotten. In that regard, Laxia might have far more to learn from this lovable thief than she had initially imagined. Latina’s raised finger slowly lowered until it pointed out over the audience. The crowd followed the movement of her hand with another wave of cheers. Then, in the next instant, her finger sharply changed direction and pointed straight at Laxia. It was a single, precise motion, almost as though she were issuing a direct challenge. Laxia’s eyes widened slightly at the unexpected provocation, and the crowd roared even louder as they sensed the tension forming between them. But when Bandita immediately broke into a bright giggle and waved playfully with her other hand, Laxia allowed the tension in her body to ease. Bandita returned to her corner, removed her elaborate skirt, and pushed it outside the ring. Even as the referee conducted the pre-match inspection, the luchadora’s hazel gaze remained fixed upon Laxia. Laxia did not look away. A brief but palpable silence settled over the ring. And then, at last..

DING...! DING...! DING...!!

The bell rang to signal the start of the match. There was no denying that Bandita had seized control of the stage and the crowd before the opening bell. But Laxia had no intention of surrendering control inside the ring as well. She might have been outshone during the entrances, but she refused to be outdone once the match began. Laxia slowly stepped out of her corner. Rather than rushing forward, she kept her back straight and approached the center of the ring with the dignified stride of a noblewoman. Extending one hand elegantly toward Bandita, she spoke. “That was quite the dazzling performance. I’ll admit, even I found myself watching in a daze for a moment.” She openly acknowledged her admiration, though the faint smile upon her lips carried an unmistakable hint of competitiveness. “I’m Laxia. Let us have a good match.” Should Bandita accept the handshake, Laxia would clasp her hand lightly before immediately retreating several steps. From there, she would begin circling her opponent at a measured pace, carefully studying her movements. Once the distance between them began to close again, Laxia would raise both hands in preparation for a lockup. “Now then... let us see whether your skill inside the ring is every bit as impressive as your performance on the stage.”

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

That hawkish gaze the rogue is giving her is just slightly obscured behind the eyemask she wears. Not because it actually conceals the eyes - rather, it conceals just the right amount of facial features to make what she's thinking easily readable. But at last, with a down-up flick, it should be made obvious: she's sizing her up.

Slightly taller. Slightly heavier. These are conditions Bandita is quite used to. She's average height, if not slightly tall for a Mexican girl, but she was assuredly not a thick contender. Laxia edges her out on mass, in the strictest sense. But that isn't to say she looks heavy at all. She's in shape. Fully figured, some might say, but not full-figured in Tindr code. No, Laxia cuts a mature, streamlined silhouette, versus Bandita's... well... slightly self-conscious athletic skinny-girl contrast.

When Laxia strides forward, full of poise and elegance, that expression becomes even more readable with an open smile. She moves ahead to meet her, traveling the few paces with an eager energy just waiting to be unleashed, barely restrained. To her delight, Laxia speaks English! But of course she does! She looks like a Westerner. Nevertheless, the revelation causes her smile to reach her eyes.

The gaze dips again, noticeably taking in Laxia's appearance; her smooth, pristine face with a sort of soft dignity, the curvature of her bust, her trim midsection and slope of her waistline, hips, thighs, knees, feet - and back up again, taking in the lavish white with aristocratic golds. The name given is one that almost feels like it came straight out of a fantasy show or an anime, which somehow ties her whole image together.

The hand is offered forward, and there's no hesitation from Bandita in taking it in both of hers for a clasp.

"You have very pretty eyes," she says in English. Her own accent is richly textured in Spanish, the words honeyed and leaning just a little heavily on the vowels and biting at the consonant clusters. "You look like you must be some kind of princess, ah?"

Laxia's hand is withdrawn, and Bandita skips back a step. Eyes widen, and her own smile takes an edge as she enters her starter stance. She can readily read that the other woman wants to start with the classics, and Bandita is absolutely down for it. She loves this part; feeling out the opponent, testing their strength, a contest of technical skill to see who can take the early advantage, and a chance to thrill the audience early - to maybe even have a little fun with the opponent, if she can take control!

Legs spread, hands raised at the ready, and she steps counter to the other grappler. "'De name's Bandita. And I'm lookin' forward to impressin' you, Your Highness."

The smile quirks into a playful grin.

And then she's rushing to meet her. Left hand seizes upon Laxia's collar, the right hand hooking the other girl's elbow in a standard lockup. She fully expects to be reciprocated in full - Laxia doesn't seem the type to take cheap shots, right? She should expect things to play out straight! So she's trying to meet her strength and pressure pound for pound, to feel out her opponent's raw strength and control. She steps occasionally to ensure her balance stays true, but the moment she feels there might be a gap in the pressure or slack in strength, she'll push in to try to force Laxia back a step. Ultimately, her goal is the turnbuckle with her!

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Post by Letta »

As Laxia extended her hand, Bandita answered with a radiant smile. It was so open and genuine that, for a moment, it almost seemed as though the mask she wore concealed nothing at all. Laxia felt a faint warmth rise to her cheeks as the luchadora’s gaze traveled slowly over her figure. Before she could decide whether to take offense, however, Bandita clasped her offered hand between both of hers with such wholehearted enthusiasm that Laxia visibly startled. “W... Wha...?! Th-Thank you..”

She had expected little more than a courteous acknowledgment between opponents. Instead, she found herself confronted by an unexpectedly warm welcome and a compliment delivered with seemingly complete sincerity. For one brief, unguarded moment, those simple words slipped through the carefully fortified walls around her heart and loosened the invisible armor she had learned to wear in the presence of strangers. In only a few moments, the opening bell would ring. They would grapple with one another, their bodies colliding as they fought for victory before the crowd. And yet Bandita could greet her with such effortless familiarity, as though they were not moments away from becoming adversaries. Even the rich cadence of her Spanish accent seemed to lend her words an unmistakable honesty. That fleeting warmth vanished with the title that followed. “...Your Highness.” The bashful curve of Laxia’s lips disappeared as though it had been washed away by cold water. Your Highness... How tiresome.

Before the fall of House Roswell, countless smiling opportunists had approached her family in pursuit of its wealth, influence, or connections. Years spent among such people had sharpened Laxia’s ability to recognize calculation hidden beneath politeness. Yet the compliment Bandita had offered did not sound calculated. That might have been the more troubling possibility. The innocent often wielded the cruelest words, never realizing the wounds they left behind. Perhaps the luchadora truly saw her as little more than a pretty noblewoman, a decorative figure dressed in white and gold, better suited to presiding over a ballroom than standing inside a wrestling ring. If so, Bandita had already made her first mistake. Should she judge Laxia by her title and appearance alone, then she had unknowingly surrendered an advantage before the match had even begun. After all, she could not possibly imagine what the last daughter of House Roswell was truly capable of. “Very well.” A restrained, confident smile returned to Laxia’s lips. “Then show me that my expectations were not misplaced.” She raised her hands, offering the classic collar-and-elbow lock-up with all the composure of someone issuing a formal challenge. Bandita accepted without the slightest hesitation. The two women advanced until their bodies collided in the very center of the ring.

Screeeech - -

Their wrestling boots squealed sharply against the canvas as each woman leaned into the contest, pouring her strength into the struggle for early control. Laxia understood almost immediately that Bandita was not relying on power alone. Her footwork was remarkably precise. She adjusted constantly, preserving her balance and refusing to yield even against Laxia’s superior height and mass. Whenever the pressure between them shifted by even the slightest degree, the luchadora recognized the opening and drove into it, forcing the taller woman back one measured step at a time. How unexpected... There is considerably more strength behind that slight frame than appearances would suggest.

Laxia surrendered several steps. Not because she had been overwhelmed, but because there was value in learning how eagerly Bandita pursued an apparent advantage. Then, without warning, she planted her boots firmly against the canvas. Enough pleasantries. It was time to remind her opponent that House Roswell had never produced ornamental daughters. A sudden surge of strength exploded through Laxia’s frame. She drove Bandita backward with enough force to tear their lock-up apart, then immediately stepped into the space between them before the younger luchadora could recover. Her arms encircled Bandita’s narrow waist. In one smooth, decisive motion, Laxia lifted her completely from the mat, turned through her hips, and hurled her overhead with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex!

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Post by CyanDimitrik »

For Bandita's part, she had no idea she'd caused any offense. In this way, she was perhaps naive of how her words might seem belittling. She had meant it to be complimentary, even playful. After all, what normal girl doesn't want to be thought of as a princess? Or perhaps that's just projection on her part - she would be very flattered to be thought of as so elegant and fetching. While she definitely feels seen and like she's actually pretty when donning the mask, at her core, she's still an eighteen-year-old girl. It hits a special mark somewhere inside that makes the heart shine just a little brighter.

Again, at least for her.

She can find out about any misgivings shortly. For now, it's time to wrestle.

Bodies collide, and the intensity is exactly where Bandita expected it. She doesn't shy back from the other woman, taking each step to press in a little tighter, a little hard. Then suddenly, things take a turn! She's forced back a few steps, her boots scuttling along the mat to ensure her balance is kept with each relent. Then the grapple is broken in a dramatic moment, arms tossed wide. And in that second of vulnerability, Laxia has wrapped her arms securely around the Latina's waist. Her body is held snug against Laxia's, eyes wide in surprise as she looks back at her.

Then an upwards pitch, her slender figure whipped into the air and released overhead in a belly-to-belly suplex! The rogue arcs forward, angled to hit the mat - and she does just that. But in the sliver of an interim between Laxia holding Bandita by the waist and her hitting the canvas behind her, she's been released. It's a more powerful move than she might've expected from her, but against the bandit, a risky one. Within that gap, the slippery acrobat brings her arms forward and tucks her head. The forearms connect with the mat, and she tumbles with the momentum into a roll, ending again on her feet.

The audience gives a sudden pop in excitement, which could easily be mistaken for approval of the brutish throw. But when Laxia deigns to look back at what should be wreckage, it'll likely be made clear.

Rather than immediately pounce at the opening, she waits for Laxia to notice what's happened. Whether she's still on the mat or on her feet at that point, it doesn't matter. Bandita is presenting her with a profile stance, hip cocked and her right shoulder raised to her tucked chin coquettishly. With green eyes glinting playfully, she lifts her hand to offer a dainty finger-wiggle-wave.

And with it, a fresh round of cheers, whistles, and applause. This is pure showmanship. A sacrifice of an obvious strategic advantage in favor of engaging in some puckish mirth. Though it's directed towards Laxia, it's obviously intended to thrill and entertain the audience watching their exchange.

"Eheh! You're strong!," she chirps. "But'chu have to ask a lady to dance before going to dip her, ah?"

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Post by Letta »

Laxia wrapped her arms around Bandita’s slender waist and hoisted her into the air. Raw strength was hardly one of the noblewoman’s greatest assets, but against a Latina smaller than herself, one who apparently believed she could simply drive Laxia back into the corner, she felt compelled to demonstrate that she was no pushover. Her pride likely played no small part in it, either. She could never allow the audience to see her being physically overwhelmed. With this sudden maneuver, Laxia intended to show everyone that she would not allow the young luchadora to dictate the match so easily..! Perhaps carried away by her own enthusiasm, Laxia sent Bandita sailing over her head with surprising ease. The surprise maneuver drew an immediate roar from the audience, and a satisfied smile crossed Laxia’s face as she turned to look back at the opponent she expected to find sprawled across the canvas. “Hmph. Perhaps now you’ll think twice before...”

“....!!”

Her words came to an abrupt halt. By the time Laxia turned around, Bandita had already absorbed the landing and sprung back onto both feet like a coiled spring..! She had definitely been right there in Laxia’s arms only a moment ago. Thinking back, Laxia now realized that she had never felt the heavy impact that should have shaken the mat when Bandita crashed down. The cheers had not been for Laxia at all. They had been for Bandita..! Before Laxia could fully recover from her surprise, the young luchadora adopted a coquettish pose.. wiggling her fingers and playfully beckoning toward her. Bandita could have easily attacked while Laxia’s back had been turned, yet she had instead chosen to show off and make a spectacle of her escape..! Realizing that only made Laxia’s cheeks flush with embarrassment.

She had only just resolved not to let Bandita lead her around by the nose, and yet the young luchadora had already seized control of the crowd once again..! “Tch....” It seemed the time had come for Laxia to display one of her own specialties. She lowered her center of gravity, one foot sliding back as she prepared to spring into motion. “Ah, where are my manners...? You’re right. I should have asked you to dance first.” A confident edge returned to her expression as she fixed her gaze firmly upon Bandita. “But I should warn you... I have no intention of letting you lead this dance.”

The moment those words left her lips, Laxia threw herself backward into the ropes. Their tension launched her forward, sending the orange-haired noblewoman racing directly toward Bandita..! As she drew close, Laxia raised an arm as though preparing to take Bandita’s head off with a running clothesline, only to feint at the last possible second and rush straight past her opponent. She hurled herself into the ropes on the opposite side and came rebounding back with even greater speed. Aiming to catch Bandita off guard with the abrupt change in direction, Laxia launched herself forward and drove both boots toward her with a lightning-fast flying dropkick..!

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

The surprised look on Laxia's pretty face was candy to the teen. It was one of her favorite things in the ring - shocking opponents. So much of her style relied on fluid grace and rapid, even mobile adaptability! Very few were truly prepared for a girl who made the full and entire ring her jungle gym, and to great effect.

To her further delight, Laxia is playing off of her wordplay! She isn't sure why she thought there was a chance she wouldn't! For all intents and purposes, the girl in the ring with her tonight seemed perfectly pleasant. In a way, she reminded her of the woman she wrestled for her second match in LAW - elegant, poised, regal, and likable. She's sure she wouldn't give her the time of day if she weren't forced to contend with her in the squared circle here and now, but she can enjoy the time they're going to have while it lasts!

Spirits high, Bandita's playful expression becomes spirited confidence and she drops into her stance again. She's sure Laxia wouldn't go for the same move again. No, she's more likely to try to take her by surprise in a rush. That's what nearly everyone does, as if they're testing whether or not she's able to react in time. Like they need to see it for themselves! And Bandita is so ready to continue the tango, find the gap, and fully take over the pace of the match.

Laxia backs up against the ropes, and Bandita's gaze hoods in anticipation. Her balance shifts quickly from foot to foot, readying herself and watching as the orange-haired girl barrels towards her. The arm seems to raise, and Bandita's already got a response loaded. A quick dip, a pivot, and a resounding, shocking answer - that'll do it. The Latina dips low, and in a single, lightning-fast motion, she spins around in a 180-degree step, arms lashing out with the intention to catch Laxia around the midsection. But-- Laxia isn't there. She feinted away. All Laxia will feel are the fingertips of one hand briefly grazing against her waist as she clears the threatened area.

Bandita is left standing there, surprised. Laxia's return trip is a short one, given the distance. The leap is a short one, too. The hammering of the boots that dig into Bandita's chest produce an equally short drop. The teen hits the mat hard on her back, the air blasted from her lungs. Her lower half hangs in the air for a second before collapsing to the mat, leaving the luchadora crossing one arm over her chest while trying to turn onto the other elbow, eyes squeezed shut with a wheeze.

Re: First Bell, First Clue? - Laxia(D) vs. Bandita

Just as Laxia had anticipated, the young luchadora had been prepared for her charge. The instant Laxia drew near, Bandita swiftly lowered her stance and reached out to catch her around the waist. Had Laxia committed to the attack without incorporating that last-second feint, she might have found herself thwarted yet again. Even as she slipped past her opponent, however, Laxia did not fail to notice the fleeting brush of Bandita’s fingertips against her waist.

Such remarkably quick reflexes...

For a brief moment, Laxia could not help but feel impressed. At the same time, the thrill of escaping her opponent’s grasp by the narrowest of margins coursed through her body, her heart beating faster as adrenaline surged through her veins. And in the very next instant, Laxia rebounded from the opposite ropes and came racing back with even greater speed. Both of her boots rose high into the air before driving squarely into Bandita’s chest..! Laxia may have outweighed the young luchadora, but she was still relatively light herself. Yet there was nothing light about the dropkick after she poured every bit of momentum from her sprint into it. The heavy impact sent Bandita crashing onto her back, her lower body hanging briefly in the air before collapsing onto the canvas after her.

Laxia likewise fell to the mat from the recoil of the dropkick. However, as she watched Bandita clutch her chest in pain, the corners of the noblewoman’s lips curled into a satisfied smile. At last, she had landed the first clean strike of the match. But Laxia had no intention of retreating after a single successful attack..! “Allow me to lead...”

Planting her hands against the canvas, Laxia swiftly pushed herself back to her feet. Without wasting even a moment savoring the success of her dropkick, she immediately turned and raced toward the ropes behind her once again. The taut ropes launched her forward, adding another explosive burst of speed to her charge. “...and try not to fall behind.”

Just as Bandita began struggling upright, one arm wrapped around her chest and the other elbow braced against the mat, Laxia came hurtling toward her once more. The orange-haired noblewoman threw herself forward, vaulting over the rising luchadora. At the same time, she reached down and firmly hooked an arm around Bandita’s head and neck before carrying her own body into a forward rotation.

As Laxia’s body traced a graceful somersault through the air, Bandita’s captured upper body was pulled forward along with her movement. Then, just as Laxia completed the rotation, She sharply attempted to wrench Bandita’s head downward, combining the momentum of her charge with the force of the somersault. With one beautifully fluid yet viciously precise motion, Laxia sought to drive Bandita face-first into the canvas with a forward somersault cutter..!

There's no retort this time. Bandita can hear her, and the desire to make comments are there in the distance, but she just can't wrap her head around it after taking a full-blown dropkick to the chest. She's often wondered if that's easier on the boys, lacking the.. well, cushioning, that girls have to consider. Because it hurts. And despite taking shots to the chest for the entirety of her career through dropkicks, legdrops, elbow drops, and so on, she doubts there will ever really be a time where she gets used to that. If there's one singular ray of optimism to be had for it, it's that it's probably the one thing her family hasn't bugged her about in the ring.

Likely because it's clearly written on her face how unpleasant that feeling is.

Finally, she takes in a hard gasp; she can breathe again. Her knees tuck beneath herself, and she begins pushing to her full height once more, determined to get back into the game before her opponent can take too much of an advantage of her position. But the tremors rapidly building behind her signal the other woman is coming in from her blindspot.

Her head is snagged. She's barreled forward with the full weight of a body and somersaulting momentum. Her face meets the mat in a dizzying impact, causing the teenager to pop upright onto her knees again, gaze unfocused, before dropping down to the mat in a heap on her front. Her face rests turned aside, cheek against the mat, and eyes shut. Her arms rest down at her sides, her long low ponytail's ebon tresses spread akimbo.

This time, the audience is popping for Laxia. This time, they're giving their approval of the brutal treatment of her younger opponent.
