Makie listened intently, and nodded. She perked up a little at the mention of the Irish Oldschool. "That's...Lauren...something...and Peggy McIntyre, right?" she asked. She unconsciously rubbed her arm. "Yeah. I know that Peggy, at least, is no joke. I have a score to settle with her. For all I know she's saying the same about me." Her hand involuntarily clenched. "To be honest I have a score to settle with quite a few taller girls. Maybe thanks to the help you've given me, I can--"

She trailed off as Tina cut in, mentioning that Makie looked gassed. "What? No, I'm fine!" she protested, trying to stand...and wincing as her sides ached. "Okay, a few more minutes, but...seriously, I'm good to go!" It was the same stubborn streak from when Tina had fought her, utterly refusing to stop no matter how injured she got...

Alaina and Tina saw how tired she was and exchanged a look. They knew but they were happy to continue.

"Maybe we do something like practicing countering power bombs into hurricanranas?" Alaina said. "But, if someone knows it is coming they may not fall and it leaves you dangling upside down in prime piledriver position. If that happens you need to be able to slip away." Alaina said. "Come on over here..." Alaina said as she lift Makie up onto her shoulders for a power bomb.

Makie gave Alaina a weary nod. Truth to be told, she was starting to ache from all of.this heavy lifting she was doing, and a part of her worried that she was overdoing it. But, dammit, she needed to improve, and she needed to make the most of what Alaina was teaching her. No pain, no gain, she thought to herself.

Standing up, Makie moved up to the larger woman and, with her trademark agility, ran forward to hop up onto the Amazon's shoulders. Taking a deep breath, she clamped her legs around Alaina's head and leaned back, simulating a botched hurricanrana. "Okay," she breathed as she hung upside down, "what now?"

Alaina felt her lean back and she smiled. "95% of the time I go flying. However if I am not caught off guard and expecting it I have your legs like this and have an arm holding them in place while you dangle upside down. I can smash that mid section with my free hand and secure you to drop you down into a piledriver." Alaina said. "Now... to get out of this? That I am not sure. I have never had anyone escape this position on me. If you reach back and grab my legs I am stuck bt can still drop forward."

Tina looked and "Maybe ya go all in on a thrust to the side? Makie almost like instead of a hurricanrana backward its a sideways one like you are trying to do a cartwheel? Extending your hands to the mat and try it." Tina said.

"Good idea. Even in a worst case scenario for you Makie you still escape even if you don't do as much damage to your opponent." Alaina added waiting for Makie to try.

Makie listened to Tina's suggestion; even hanging like this, with the blood going to her head, it was still helpful to hear suggestions like this. Ideas of her own, admittedly, were also starting to form.

"Or," she offered, "how about this?" She sat her upper body forwards, ankling so that she was perched against Alaina's shoulders, her legs still criss-crossing around the other woman's throat as she kept her lower body latched around her. Grabbing the back of Alaina's head with one hand for support, Makie raised her free arm and began to mime a punching motion down at her forehead. "Bam, bam, bam," she said. "And I keep going until you fall on your back, at which point I'm sitting on your chest for a possible pinfall, or until you're forced to do something to get rid of me. Any thoughts?"

"That may work, and if I fall back you are in control." Alaina says. "But I still have hold of you and can fall forward so it is a gamble but as good as anything to counter a counter so to speak." Alaina said. "It is a tough spot and whoever ends up in control really has to earn it ya know?" She added.

"Makie is nimble, not a big oaf like the amazon." Tina said jokingly. "She can jump, move and bends ways you can't." Tina added. "She can make stuff work."

Alaina let out a laugh and looked back over at Tina. "Yeah you are right about that especially these days." She said before turning her attention back to Makie. "So who or what is it that had ya looking for extra help?" Alaina asked as she set Makie down.

Makie allowed herself to drop back, hanging upside down for a bit from around Alaina's head, before dropping down and rolling up to my feet. "Just...in general, honestly," she replied. "Ever since I arrived in AFW, I've just been on a massive losing streak. This is not my first fed, but it IS a bit higher up than my last one. But I've just...been falling short at everything. I'm honestly scared I'm going to get dropped at this rate, you know? The only thing that's keeping me on the roster is that I've been tagging well with my brother."

She sighed, and dropped down to her butt. "And...yeah, there's a few people I want to beat. A bitch named Danica Donelle is one. Peggy McIntyre is another. And then there's Mako Adachi. She...well...we used to be a thing. I need to prove to her more than anyone that I'm not some loser."

Alaina nodded. "We've all been there." She said as she managed to recover a bit herself. "You are still here and I don't see LAW releasing anyone anytime soon. You are safe in regard to that. For the women you want to beat just focus on doing what you are good at and stick to your strengths. You can beat them." She added.

Tina looked over at her and nodded. "You got this, trust me." She said. "Also isn't your brother dating Sienna Smiths pal JJ?" She asked with a slight smile. "Sienna is Alaina's favorite lady."

Makie nodded. A few hours ago she had been absolutely terrified for her career; hearing a reassurance from a veteran like Alaina meant the world to her. More importantly, her encouragement meant a lot more: to hear that even someone like Alaina Sanders had experienced a rough losing streak did a lot to put her at ease. If Alaina said she was going to get through this, then Makie trusted her on this.

Tina's comment, though, made Makie jump. "Ehh...I mean what can I say, Kyo has a bad habit of falling for powerful women he meets in the ring, and every so often they fall for him," she chuckled. "Though I'm sure JJ has already told Sienna alllll about it. Why, worried that JJ will bring Kyo along to cheer Sienna on next time she decides she wants a crack at Alaina?"

She straightened up, folded her hands, and gave a respectful bow to both Alaina and Tina. They were still in Japan, after all, and as brash and rebellious as she was, she had still been taught to show proper manners when possible. "Thanks, both of you," she said. "I had no idea just how strong I was...or what I could do with that strength...until you showed me. I'll absolutely put the lessons I learned here today into my next match." She looked up and grinned at them both. "Also let me know the next time you two are going to be in a tag match, I'll be buying front row seats to watch. And if you ever want a rematch, Tina, I'll be more than happy to even our score!"
