Practice makes perfect. A lesson taught to all people of all ages. It had been a long time since Touka had truly practiced instead of simply exercised to stay in shape and went off the techniques and muscle memory she already knew and her own experience in the ring. She knew it was reckless to do such a thing but even she was a victim of the common problems that any human being could suffer...laziness. Touka knew the importance of reps but couldn't get past how boring she found the need to do them and procrastinated until now before she started doing so again, using a training dummy to practice her grapples and close submissions as she would lift, squeeze or toss it over an over again.

"I'd much prefer a live partner...but it's not like I have many of those chomping at the bit." Touka muttered to herself, her ace looking intense rather than pleased with herself. After all live reps would at least be more fun but most of the people she could talk too about raining were people on Touka's lists of people she'd want to fight and giving them a sneak peak at what she could do wasn't on her mind. So for the moment training solo was h er best bet, even if she was starting to get bored of doing so.

As if it was scripted, the gym doors would swing open with a theatrical flourish, a woman in her mid-fourties sweeping in with the energy of someone half her age. Kuviera Tripathi would be that woman, carrying herself like she was walking to the ring rather than a weight room.

"Oh my, oh my~"

Her voice would carry just as melodically as well, as she spots the woman working with the training dummy. Her hazel eyes light up with genuine interest, adjusting her main attire. Approaching the similarly built woman with careful steps, not wanting to startle someone mid-grapple, and offered a small round of applause that echoes slightly in the spacious gym.

"Bravo! Though I must say..." Kuvi said, tilting her head, her black hair catching the overhead lights. "...a dummy never appreciates a performance properly, does it?" Kuviera would extend a hand outward, her grip warm and firm when offered. "Kuviera Tripathi."

Touka was mid swing when the doors burst open, as if the world wanted her to pay attention to whoever was making a grand entrance. And pay attention she did, leaving Touka looking up at the women in question as she basically did a wrestling entrance into the gym, an impressive one as well before catching Touka's eye and basically strutting over to her. She had a bit of a cocky air to her, but she didn't detect any bad vibes from her despite that and seemed to politely offer a hand while introducing herself. It would've been rude of Touka not to do the same.

"Touka Akan. That was quite the entrance, and you're right a training dummy as it's uses but is basically training wheels. Can only learn so much with them." Touka said, wondering if Kuviera's words meant she was planning to be the metaphorical answer to her prayers for a proper training dummy. It would be a big help but she didn't want to assume given that Touka herself was plenty kind outside of the ring but....less so in it.

Kuviera's smile widened at Touka's handshake, her grip firm.

"Touka Akan... now where have I heard that name before?" Kuviera tapped her chin theatrically, her hazel eyes gleaming with recognition. "Ah yes! You wrestle here, do you not? I've seen some of your work, dear. Very impressive stuff."

She released the handshake and rolled her shoulders, glancing toward the training dummy with a playful grimace.

She began to stretch her arms above her head, her toned physique belied her age, as years of wrestling had kept her in peak condition.

"I came here looking for a workout myself. The universe, it seems, has provided us both an opportunity." Kuviera turned to face Touka fully, raising an eyebrow with a knowing smirk. "What do you say, Touka dear? Care to put on a show with an old woman? I promise I'm not as fragile as I look~"

She dropped into a relaxed stance, waiting.

"Unless you're worried I'll show you up in front of... well, no one in particular~"

The way the woman spoke her name she could sense that she already knew who she was before she said it, or at least had an idea on who she was and indeed mentioned that she wrestled here, something that Touka nodded her head too as the handshake broke apart. "I aim to impress, for many personal reasons." Touka said, she felt bad that she didn't know who was in front of her when she clearly did her homework. But it wasn't like Touka was very present on any social media or watched many matches outside of her own personal ones or her family so this was a new face. But something new was hardly bad and Touka didn't mind surprises, at the very least she seemed eager to prove herself with a training session which was exactly what Touka needed.

"I'm not one to think the universe has anything to do with it, but I don't think this is an opportunity that I can't pass up on. And I certainly don't think that I can turn down what seems like a clear challenge." Touka said teasingly as she rolled her shoulders and prepared herself. "So do you have any rules in mind or are just doing a straightforward spar?" Touka asked.
