Heart Pounding Debut (Yukari Yakumo [D] vs Ivan Ramirez)

Ivan felt Yukari wriggle out of his initial clench attempt but he didn't relent, instead focusing on pushing her back steadily until he successfully threw her to the ropes with a grunt. He turned his back to her to set up for the return but was caught completely off-guard by Yukari's burst of speed.

The massive punch slammed dead center into his rock-hard abs with a meaty thud, folding him over and driving the air from his lungs. Ivan staggered back, temporarily stunned, his tough core absorbing the impact but unable to prevent the damage.

Quickly shaking his head, the Filipino brawler tried to recover his footing while also readying for Yukari's next attack. He kept his guard up defensively, knowing she likely hadn't expended all her energy and waiting to see what she would do next.

Yukari was glad that her quick thinking worked out quite well and that she managed to get a big hit on him. Although as big as that punch was, it's not like Ivan was going to fall that easily. She's not going to just let him recover so quickly, as such she rushes towards him and goes for a fake-out in punching him to his face, but the real punch would go to his gut instead and she would go for some jabs to his face and then another uppercut to his gut before going for a left-right hook combo across his face.

Ivan felt Yukari rushing toward him, but he remained wary. The Filipino's eyes narrowed as he watched her feint a punch to his face. Anticipating the fakeout, he tensed his abs in readiness. However, the second blow still managed to catch him slightly off guard as it slammed into his solar plexus with a loud smack!

"Uuughh!!" Ivan groaned as the air rushed out of his lungs for the second time in rapid succession. His vision blurred momentarily and he staggered backwards clumsily, dropping his guard reflexively as he hunched forward.

Yukari immediately capitalized on his vulnerability, snapping several jabs and hooks into Ivan's exposed face and torso within seconds. The crowd roared as the newcomer clearly gained the upper hand on the seasoned veteran with a flurry of precision strikes.

Disoriented and struggling to breathe normally again, he tried desperately to cover up and turtle in on himself to limit further damage, knowing he needed to get his wits back before he was completely overwhelmed by his tenacious foe.

How Ivan chooses to retaliate or turn the tables from here remains to be seen, but one thing is clear - Yukari is no ordinary rookie and already proved herself a legitimate threat in this high-stakes match against LAW's resident ladykiller.

It's rather obvious that as of right now Yukari does indeed have the advantage as she seems to be doing a pretty good job in knocking Ivan around with her flurry of punches until he had to turtle in on himself to deal with her onslaught. Yukari knew that she had to keep up this advantage and thus she kept throwing punches, though a lot of it is on his guard, however she held back on those punches, just seeing if she can maybe whittle his defenses by doing that. Most of all though, she was just saving her strength to unleash bigger punches at any openings she can see which at this time may be to Ivan's sides as it's kind of the hardest spot to cover up when you're trying to turtle up.

The arena lights blazed overhead as Ivan crouched low in the center of the ring, forearms raised defensively across his face and chest. Sweat dripped down his brow, mixing with the faint smear of crimson across his nose—a reminder of an earlier exchange. His breathing came measured despite the punishment he'd absorbed; years of street brawls and underground pit fights had taught him how to endure.

Thwap! Thwap! Thwap!

Yukari's strikes came rapid-fire—some glancing off his guards, others thudding solidly against his exposed arms, shoulders and sides like a dull ache. Each impact sent small vibrations through his frame, but Ivan barely acknowledged them anymore despite the pain. A testament of his endurance and pain threshold.

"What's wrong?" he muttered, voice muffled behind his raised elbows. "Running out of ideas?"

His words were meant to antagonize, to make her slip up—but Ivan knew better than to let his mouth run ahead of his strategy. Through the gaps in his defense, he could see the way Yukari moved.

Ivan's blue eyes tracked every movement, cataloguing patterns. The way her punches pulled back just slightly before release.

And then he saw it and struck, his left arm striking like a snake underneath her guard as she threw another punch, his gloves fist aiming for a liver shot when she least expects it.
