Match Type: Standard Match Rules: Victory by pinfall, submission, or knockout
----
Marzia stood behind the entrance ramp, taking in a deep breath as she prepared herself for her next match. She hadn't been having much luck with them lately, but she would keep at it regardless. She knew that this wouldn't last forever, and the only way for her to get ahead was to keep going and hope for the best. One of these days, she told herself as she clenched her fists at her sides. One of these days things would work out.
Apparently her opponent this time was going to be a fairly new arrival herself, but she had also heard rumors that she had had a successful career in another promotion. Marzia, at least, had never heard of her. But hopefully she'd be around to help show her the ropes - and if she wasn't that experienced, Marzia would at least have better odds. The Italian girl gulped, thinking to herself. She hoped that she wasn't that desperate.
"And coming first to the ring, from Rome, Italy! MARZIA SERVELLI!" SpoilerMusic
As the announcer called her name, Marzia made her way out onto the ramp, heading down to the ring. From either side of her she heard cheers, as whatever fans she had gained in her previous matches turned out to root for her. She just hoped that she wouldn't let them down. Tightening her fists, Marzia headed down to the ring, where, taking a deep breath, she climbed up the ring apron and looked around her at the crowds she drew. A faint blush came to her face as she began to consider the magnitude of this sight, and how she actually had fans, that people were interested in watching her. She had to put that thought out of her mind, though. If she worried too much about what people thought of her, then she wouldn't be at the top of her game. She sucked in a breath, coming to her corner and waiting for her scheduled opponent to show up.
Chigusa Yuuki was going to have another match for the night, and this time, the former Wrestle Angel was determined to walk out of the ring as a victor. Her best friend, Megumi Mutoh, had shown LAW what she was made of as one-in-a-lifetime wrestling genius, winning one match after another. She might lack the natural talent that her best friend had, but she was sure that her fighting spirit and determination would be good enough to compensate. Whoever she would have to face soon in the ring, she would have to beat them and walk out victorious.
When it's time for her to make her entrance, Chigusa prepared herself before she stepped out to the ramp, energetically waving her hands before raising both her arms as her music was played. The crowd cheered for the former Wrestle Angel as she made her entrance.
"And her opponent, from Aichi, Japan. Introducing... CHIGUSA YUUKI!!!" Spoiler
Beaming cheerfully, Chigusa would then run down the ramp, high-fiving some fans as she headed over to the ring. Once she arrived there, she would climb up the apron and slip through the ropes, entering the ring. She would go to the center of the ring, raising both her arms before bowing to all directions. The crowd cheered and chanted her name as there was a dedicated fanbase for her as one of the well-known names from Wrestle Angels.
Then, after she's done bowing, she looked at her opponent, Marzia. Smiling, she headed over to her and hold out her hand, offering her a handshake. "Hello there! I'm Chigusa Yuuki. Let's have a good fight, shall we?" She gave the other girl a friendly smile as she offered her a handshake, displaying the spirit of sportsmanship before the match could begin.
Marzia smiled a little at the sight of her would-be opponent as she entered the ring, and she took a short breath, relaxing somewhat. Chigusa seemed friendly and harmless enough, and that reassured the Italian girl, knowing that she could - hopefully - trust her not to go too hard on her. Unless this was all a trick, and she was setting her up to surprise her later. That was still possible, though Marzia hoped it wasn't.
She stepped forward to meet with Chigusa in the center of the ring, taking her hand and shaking it as she returned the smile. "Marzia. Marzia Servelli," she said, "and thanks. I hope we can get along..."
DING DING DING
Soon after the two wrestlers had made their acquaintances, Marzia broke the handshake and stepped back, getting in a stance. Taking in a breath to steady and prepare herself, she began to strafe around Chigusa, studying her stance and familiarizing herself with what she might be able to expect from her style. She wanted to know what she was going in for before she was in too deep. Finally making a move to get things started, Marzia took a step in towards Chigusa and held out her hands for a test of strength, with intent to get a feel for how hard the purple-haired girl would pack a punch.
Shaking hands with Marzia, Chigusa thought that her opponent would be a fun opponent to fight, and she looked forward to see the end of this match. Once the match started, Chigusa got into a stance as well, preparing herself for her clash with Marzia. Almost at the same time as her opponent, she would move forward, holding out her hands for a contest of strength. She would grab both Marzia's hands as she would try to exert her strength as she would attempt to ascertain her opponent's strength.
For a while, Chigusa would try to match Marzia's strength, which would result in a stalemate between the two of them. Still, the former Wrestle Angel decided that she would attempt to bring an end to this stalemate as she would try to twist one of Marzia's arms as she would spin around, looking to transition the lock up into a standing wrist lock, applying pressure on the Italian girl's wrist as she would let go her other hand so that she could hold the hand that she was trying to twist. In her mind, she planned to later transition the hold into a hammerlock, but for the time being, she would see how her opponent would fare in the wrist lock.
Marzia narrowed her eyes with confidence, steeling herself as she closed in towards Chigusa and never letting the purple-haired woman leave her gaze. The two collided as they grasped each other's hands, and in a moment their forward motion was halted, as though each of them bore enough force to hold the other in place.
The Italian girl grit her teeth, leaning in closer still as she tried to push harder at Chigusa. She grasped her hands tight and strained the muscles in her arm to put forth as much push as she could manage. However, Marzia had grown so accustomed to keeping up this mutual lockup that she didn't anticipate how Chigusa might throw her for a loop. She was taken by surprise as the girl twisted her arm back, and with a yelp she was sent twirling around to put her back to Chigusa, all the while putting torque on her arm and causing her to wince in pain.
Marzia was manuevered into a wristlock, but although she may have been alarmed at first, she didn't want to let it get the better of her. She started to twist in place, doing her best to resist the hold as she bit her lip and stifled the urge to show any signs she was in pain, while she shuffled on her feet in the hopes of distracting herself.
Putting Marzia in the wrist lock, Chigusa would keep the pressure applied on her wrist before she decided to transition it into a hammerlock, moving around Marzia while still holding her by her hand, bringing said hand to her back to complete the hold. By putting Marzia's hand on her back, the former Wrestle Angel would then push the hand up, which would surely put her opponent's arm and shoulder under strain.
Just to complete the set, Chigusa would then try to make Marzia drop herself onto her knees as she would maintain the hammerlock with one hand. Then, she would wrap her free arm around her neck, keeping her head locked. While she didn't apply pressure in the headlock, it was to keep Marzia in place in preparation for Chigusa's next move.
Marzia's trouble didn't end there, as Chigusa would proceed to bring her arm around to transition to a hammerlock. The Italian girl winced, shuddering as she clenched her teeth tighter to try and distract herself from the pain. She didn't want to embarrass herself in front of the whole audience, but it was getting harder to hold out.
Soon, she would be brought to her knees, letting out a huff as she hit the mat, while Chigusa would encircle her neck and cause her head to roll back on her shoulder. That wouldn't cause Marzia much harm - but did go tense with anticipation of what might be ahead for her. It was clear that Chigusa had something planned, and Marzia didn't like it. But she also didn't like not knowing what was coming for her, and having no way to prepare. All she could do was keep watch, hoping she would see her opening soon enough.
Now bringing Marzia down to the mat, Chigusa would keep her under pressure with the combination of the hammerlock and the headlock. Seeing that her opponent was unable to fight back, she decided to then transition the hold into something else as she would then push her further down so that the Italian girl would be against the canvas, her chest being pressed on the mat. With her arms restraining both Marzia's head and arm, the former Wrestle Angel would then start maneuvering herself on Marzia's back, lessening the pressure of the hammerlock. But, rather than releasing her arm, she would move her legs to trap said arm.
By relinquishing the hammerlock, one of Chigusa's arms was free, so she would then grab Marzia's head with both hands so that she could put her in a crossface. It was a move that she rarely used, but it would certainly weaken her opponent by applying pressure on both her shoulder and head.
Marzia gulped, soon realising too late that she had hesitated too long in making her move as she found her chest pushed downwards, grinding it against the canvas. The Italian girl winced, her teeth clenching with nervous anticipation of what was ahead, as Chigusa got onto her back to get into the next phase.
As she felt the pressure on her wrist go away, Marzia briefly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking she was in the clear, or at least that she might have a window of time to pull away. But that proved wrong, as Chigusa was just lining up to get Marzia in a crossface hold. She let out a gasp as soon as she felt her opponent's legs clamp down against her arm, and as she bent down to grab her by the head and pulled back, she let out a groan that was muffled in Chigusa's hands. This was going to hurt, she was sure of it.
But Marzia would push through. That was the thought that came to her mind - don't give in, keep fighting! She reminded herself to resist Chigusa's attempts at besting her however possible, and so she would get into the action, twisting herself back and forth and rocking her back from side to side. She wanted to get into a place where performing the hold was going to be difficult for Chigusa, and maybe then she'd back off.
Holding Marzia's head with both hands while trapping her arm with her legs, Chigusa would apply pressure on both fronts, looking to weaken the Italian girl. But her opponent proved to be quite stubborn as she rocked her back from side to side, making it difficult for the former Wrestle Angel to maintain the hold. Grunting, Chigusa could feel her hold around Marzia's head slipping away, and the hold slowly became ineffective by each passing second. Even though her hold around her arm was still maintained, holding the crossface had become more and more difficult, which forced Chigusa to relinquish the hold.
But, rather than letting Marzia go entirely, Chigusa would maneuver herself again on Marzia's back, this time wrenching her arm back in order to put her in a Fujiwara armbar. While Chigusa might be more of a power-based wrestler, she was still able to perform submission holds without problem. She might not have the pure talent that her best friend, Megumi, had, but she compensated her lack of natural talent with hard work.
