The Prima Donna's Diary - Chapter 5: Tough Enough - Part I (vs Lauren Fredericks)

Ami dropped down to the canvas, one hand trying to nurse and soothe the pain currently flaring up and down her back as she rolled on the canvas. Unfortunately, Lauren had other plans in store for her, dragging her by her other arm and sending the young rookie on a crash course into a corner across the ring. Ami is swung around and thrown forward with an Irish Whip, barreling into the turnbuckle and hitting it back-first, eliciting a pained hiss out of the rookie. "AGH-!!!" She nearly dropped to one knee, but managed to keep herself standing. She looked up, seeing Lauren charge forward, the blonde veteran was coming in hot!!! Just as Ami attempted to counteract this, she was SQUASHED by Lauren's figure and slammed against the turnbuckle, resulting in a deep groan escaping her lips as she slowly dropped to a seated position in the corner. "...ugh-..."

Bit by bit, the younger rookie was looking worse for wear and in desperate need of a way out, her mind spiraling as she tried to calm herself down and think up a plan to turn things around.

That worked so well that Lauren decided to try it again! She pulled Ami out of the corner and stepped towards the ropes on the opposite side of the ring sending Ami into them. Lauren would wait for Ami to bounce off when the big blue clad blonde would then begin running at Ami on a crash course with her! She wanted to leap up and hopefully smash into Ami with a running cross body block! Lauren's goal was to flatten Ami to the mat and stay right on top of her to pin her. Lauren was building momentum and she didn't want to lose out on it. She knew she had a chance to go for a pin but still had to put her plan into practice hoping that her cross body block connected.

Ami felt sluggish, her body already starting to feel rough and sore after taking so much damage. Lauren certainly wasn't one to play around with her food. There wasn't a whole lot of dazzling theatrics; it was a pure lesson in how an old school powerhouse-type like herself went to work...and she was certainly working over her younger foe. The crowd was definitely on Lauren's side, eager to see the usual recipient of such losses net a win for herself. However, there were a few scattered chants and cheers for the underdog newcomer. Speaking of-...

The dazed brunette was dragged from the corner and tossed forwards once more, sent into the ropes across the ring as Lauren prepared to throw her whole body at Ami! This time, however, Ami would manage to regain enough composure to catch herself on the ropes, keeping herself steady while ricocheting back toward Lauren, but stopping herself short and lifting her leg to send a quick Big Boot right into the blonde woman's stomach as she leaped toward her. With any luck, the Prima Donna Darling would snipe her foe out of the sky and earn herself a short reprieve and a chance to really catch her breath!

Lauren leapt... and smashed into a kick! The kick didn't send her flying backward but she did crash hard to the mat and groan, cradling her abdomen as she kicked the mat at the feet of Ami her momentum halted painfully! Lauren shook her head and knew that this could be bad. She wanted to get back to working over the lightweight but right now she was too stunned to even get back up to her feet...

Ami managed to stop Lauren in her tracks with a stiff Big Boot, but the recoil sent her wobbling back, almost stumbling over into a fall, but she caught herself on the ropes. She takes a moment to breathe, trying to regain her composure. Her plan worked, but now it was time to capitalize! She couldn't let Lauren continue to throw her around. With Lauren on the ground, Ami got an idea in her head. With a flash of inspiration and a surge of courage coursing through her heart, she raced forward to pick Lauren up, pulling her into a seated position in the center of the ring. After that, she looked to the crowd, gesturing confidently as she hyped herself up, garnering a bit of supportive applause before running to the nearest set of ropes in front of Lauren.

With some pep in her step, she'd jump up and bounce off the bottom rope on one side of the corner, twisting in the air and balancing on the adjacent middle rope, steadying herself before LEAPING forward with all her might, flying through the air with her legs tucked before pumping them outward and SMASHING into Lauren's chest with a Double Jump Springboard Seated Dropkick!!!

Lauren was sitting up and shaking her head trying to recover. That was not going to happen. Before she knew what hit her Ami crash landed with a dropkick right to Lauren's unprotected face! "AAARRRRGGHHH!" Lauren howled as her feet smashed into Lauren's mouth and nose! The big blonde collapsed back in a heap meekly kicking the mat as her hands covered her face. Lauren knew her lip was busted open from that hit and her whole face throbbed. She could only hope her nose hadn't been broken but it was hurting too. Ami was turning things around and when Lauren would eventually move her hands away from her face she indeed was a mess with her lip and nose bleeding a bit!

Ami's Dropkick attempt landed clean, but something felt off...She hit the ground after making contact with what felt like Lauren's chest, only to roll to her feet and be greeted with a less-than-desirable outcome after slightly bloodying up the older woman's face after kicking her in it, unintentionally missing the mark.

"A-Ahh! Ohh-...oh-my-gosh..." Ami said, sweating bullets as a look of shock and remorse appeared on her face. "I-I'm sorry!!!" She said, naively, not quite used to the idea of injuring or harming her opponents to such a degree yet. Even as a kickboxer, given her size and weight class, Ami rarely ever knocked people out cold or hit them hard enough to bloody them up. With that being said, this moment came as a real surprise that left the brunette rookie off-balance, panicking a little. After snapping out of it, she tried to grab hold of Lauren in a Headlock, trying to take her mind off of it and focus back on the match...but were those few seconds of hesitation enough for Lauren to turn things back around on the Prima Donna?

Lauren was still dazed as Ami locked her in a headlock. She shook her head, not entirely sure of what Ami had told her when she saw her. The big blonde only knew her head was being squeezed and she wanted out! Lauren was still on the mat and had an idea. She just needed to get back to her feet. Lauren tried to get her feet underneath her and tried to power the two of them to a standing position with Lauren still in the headlock. She would wrap her arms around Ami and lift her up leaning back to plant Ami to the mat with a backdrop in order to escape the headlock and supplant the momentum she had built up all in one shot!

Ami's hesitation would lead to her demise, as the rookie's impromptu Headlock maneuver would be overpowered by her aged veteran's superior strength. Slowly but surely, Lauren would manage to fight back, standing herself and Ami back up as the Prima Donna tried yanking and tugging at her head, trying to get control over her again, but to no avail. Suddenly, Ami would be lifted off the canvas and then SLAMMED into the mat with a Backdrop, causing her to groan and grunt as her thin frame came crashing down across the mat with a hefty amount of impact. Her grip loosens, and she momentarily goes limp, wincing and panting as she tries to recover.

The big blonde shook her head as she laid there after dropping Ami to the mat. She managed to halt Ami's momentum but Lauren was still in a daze. She rolled over pushing herself up to her feet as she made her way over to Ami. Lauren bent down to grab Ami's legs and hold them under her arms, sitting on Ami's lower back, locking in a Boston crab! Lauren pulled back as hard as she could trying to keep the pressure on the smaller wrestler. She hoped keeping her grounded while working Ami over with a hold would also help Lauren herself recover a bit as she was still feeling that big dropkick!
