Meeting your idols (for Bare)

Kate could have sworn she heard Zira return the laugh just as Kate started to squeeze down on her neck. Now she expected some enginius escape from the other woman but instead she got served the exact difference between how Zira and Huan fought, while the latter would do something tricky, Zira went with the straight forward solution, just as effective but the time it took her to get up in turn gave Kate a plan how to respond.

The slam shook the floor of the ring, sending sharp pain through Kate's back as she had no way to cussion the fall but on her way down, she would have prappered to let go and shove Zira away as she landed, pushing her lower body up to try and snag her with an up kick to her chin before scrambling back to her feet!

Zira was never a woman to use over complicated maneuvers and tactics unless she had too. Simply put if she could simply bulldoze her way through a move with sheer force of will then that was absolutely enough for her. Even so she managed to slam Kate down it seemed Kate was already letting go since Zira felt herself being pushed back along with a kick rising up to meet her!

"Ngh!" Zira hissed out as Kate's foot grazed her chin, luckily Zira was already arching backwards and pulling away, lessening the distance between them and insuring that Kate's foot didn't connect with the full force it could have. Still it definitely smarted a bit. "Well aren't you the prodigy? Color me impressed kid. Guess I'm going to have to go all out, hope you can handle it." Zira said with a wild grin on her face.

Pumping both her fists for a moment and starting to approach Kate, once in range then she would quickly start to throw a lightning fast jab combination Kate's way, two aimed at Kate's chest, then one at her face, followed by a uppercut and then topped off with a elbow strike, Zira trying to press Kate and overwhelm her with a lightning fast series of attacks!

Kate scrumbled to her feet just in time to hear the compliment, but before she had time to ask, 'That was not all out? 'the first punch was already on its way to her. Luckily exchanges up top were something she knew her way around like the back of her hand, hell, even Huan avoided boxing exchanges with Kate half the time and so she would slap the punch away, dropping into a philly shell stance as she took a step back and keeped backing up while stepping to the side to keep the punches just out of range, swaying to the side when they got too close for comfort. But after the jabs came a pause, a fraction of a second really. Jabs were fast, every other attack took more time and more crucially, had less range.

When Zira came in with an upercut, Kate knew this was gonna happen, sweaing back to avoid it as it missed the tip of her nose by inches before taking a step back, then as she saw the elbow coming, moved her body to the side, throwing on overhand right at Zira's head as a counter, hoping she'd stumble and if she did, sending a knee up at her chin!

Zira smirked as she came at Kate with her ferocious combination directed to the woman, unleashing jab after jab followed by a furious uppercut! Kate to her credit avoided all the blows, losing ground as she did so but much more crucially avoiding any damage in the processes. Now Kate was in position to try and fire back, going for an over head right!

Narrowing her eyes Zira would easily step back avoiding the blow, thinking it was too simple for Kate to try, only to immediately then get an answer as to why as the woman then sent a follow up knee aimed at her chin! Grinning at this Zira would suddenly side step to the left of Kate in order to avoid the knee, and while Kate was mid movement and unable to defend herself, raise her fist and swinging it forward, aiming to drive it into Kate's belly as deep as it would go!

This was getting to a point of being almost as frustrating as it was exciting. Kate knew Zira would be easily one of, if not the best, fighter she faced, but so far it felt like nothing she did would actually work on her. Each time she attacked, Zira avoided the attacks and even when something Kate did worked, it only landed her in a worse position as the veteran expertly navigated around her. And so it was this time, just as Kate thought she had Zira wide open for once, the woman got out of the way in a manner so effortless that it bordered on maddening and right after that, she slammed her fist into Kate's gut!

The fist connected with a stiff wall of muscle as Kate tensed her core, exhaling out her nose sharply, was she a split second too late with her reaction; she'd probably be seeing her last meal in front of her by now, and even still, it hurt as all hell. It seemed a change in tactic was in order.

Seasing the moment of how close Zira needed to move to get in range for this strike, Kate would move even closer, wrapping her arm around Zira's before the woman could pull it back so that her wrist would be stuck under Kate's armpit and her elbow would be extended with kate pressing on it with a crook of her own elbow as she'd then pull on the arm, at the same time pumping Zira's knee with her own to pull open her guard and balance as she'd slam an uppercut to her jaw!
Not an elegant technique but it could never be said Kate wouldn't get vicious when the situation called for it.

Zira smirked as she watched Kate's reactions during their fight so far. It was clear to her that the younger woman was getting frustrated. Too bad for her that would only make things all the easier for Zira as she moved to pull back her arm and... 'Wait a minute.' Zira thought to herself, realizing that Kate had managed to trap her offending arm! 'Shit she was able to tank it and snag my arm!' Zira thought to herself in surprise. So much surprise in fact that she didn't notice Kate using her leg to break Zira's guard and launch an uppercut right into her jaw!

"GAH!" Zira yelled in pain after, instinctively recoiling and hopefully pulling her arm free of Kate's grip, holding her jaw for a second, well and truly rocked for a moment. "Heh...hah... that was pretty damn impressive." Zira said, turning to the side and spitting out a glob of blood before turning back to Kate. "Lets see what else you can do." She said eagerly while putting her fists back up.

Kate was playing it the way she would any other sparring, true, she was operating on a technical level higher than against most opponents, but it took her a moment to realise that sparring with Zira was almost like having a legitimate fight, and now she was correcting for her mistake. Zira's hand slipped from her grasp as the woman retreated, but Kate was certainly not done quite yet.

Chasing the woman down, Kate would throw a low kick on the outside of Zira's lead leg in hopes of making her stumble before getting right close with her own uppercut to the belly. "Not done yet!" She'd say in the middle of the combo, right before finishing with an upwards elbow, continuing the motion from the uppercut to the gut!

Zira was definitely a bit rocked by that punch to the face from Kate and the purple haired girl was only pressing it further as she moved in closer, throwing a kick that Zira barely saw coming, raising her leg up in time to block it. However in doing so she was to slow to react to Kate's follow up uppercut right to her stomach, driving some of the air out of her! "Ugh!" Zira grunted before Kate went with this and took it even further, using that momentum to come up with a rising elbow to her jaw! "Gah!" Zira cried out again, knocked back by the impact and stumbling away, still in pain but still seemingly on her feet!

Getting to this after having so much trouble landing anything meaningful on her opponent was incredibly gratifying, especially knowing who her opponent was; it actually felt like an achievement. Though those thoughts were running in the background of Kate's mind, as the fight focused part of her brain smelled blood and was not going to let such an opportunity go to waste.

It was always Kate's way to pressure her opponents, not letting them get comfortable even when they were on the offence and overwhelming them with volume and power when she was in control, and now, she was in a position to exert some of that on Zira, so without skipping a beat she would pursue the woman. Remaining in lockstep with her idol Kate would throw a body hook at the woman, intending to force her even further and when they were close to the cage, get right up in her face, pushing her against the wall, arms around the back of the neck and pushing down on her chest with her forearms to make breathing difficult as she'd start throwing a knee strike after knee strike to the woman's gut!

Zira was admittedly well and truly rocked by that elbow from Kate, the girl's power shining through and making its presence known on Zira. 'Damn that hurt.' Zira thought to herself, stumbling back from the impact. Something that Kate took immediate advantage of as she came right after the older, woman, throwing a hard hook into her gut, making Zira grunt and hearing her closer to the cage wall so Kate could wrap her up and start sending knee after knee into her gut! "Ngh! ugh! Agh!" Zira grunted in pain from the blows, definitely feeling them but as much as they hurt... they were also starting to get her more and more excited and worked up!
