Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
Risako growled as she took a step back. The audacity of her opponent to go for a blatantly illegal move! She could understand doing whatever it takes to win. It would be one thing if this was a street fight or any type of match here there were no disqualification, but in a match like this there were still rules to be followed. It was a wonder that the referee didn't disqualify the former boxer for the low blow. Most likely the fact that no one wanted to see a match end in a disqualification within the first five minutes played a role in the referee's decision to grant some leeway. That didn't mean the referee would simply let it slide without consequence as they promptly gave Lisbeth an earful over it. This was good for Risako as in doing so the referee grabbing her opponent's attention effectively halted her advance. That gave Risako time to recover and plan her revenge.
Once the pain had subsided, Risako charged towards her opponent. With the former boxer distracted, Risako intended to tackle her opponent to the ground. After which she would mount her and rain punches down on her.

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
"Look, whatever, I don't need thi- wait where did she goAHK-!"
Liz's back and forth with the referee was broken as suddenly as her sentence was halted, the words being drowned out by a surprised shout as Risako launched at her, tackling her down to the ground and mounting her. The former boxer hissed up at her foe, coughing out a pained "GAH!" as one of her foe's fists managed to catch her before she could bring her defenses up, cracking her head to one side.
But it was gonna take more than a single blow to take Liz Parker out of the fight. Glaring back up at the other woman, she brought her arms up defending herself from the blows as best she could...
All the while, trying to get a feel for her opponent's rhythm, toughing it out while she tried to find a good opening to break free.

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
Risako felt a bit of satisfaction upon seeing the smug expression vanish from her opponent’s face. If the former boxer wasn’t taking her seriously before, she certainly would be now. When Liz brought her arms up to defend herself, Risako readjusted her aim to try and slip past her guard.
But while Risako might have been in the dominant position for now, she didn’t plan on staying in this position for long. It was still a submission match and she needed to win by, well, submission. So Risako dismounted her opponent so she could roll her onto her stomach. Then she would grab Liz’s arm and attempt to lock in an armbar.

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
And seriously was exactly how Liz was now taking her opponent. Her eyes narrowed, her arms came up, and her mind began racing, trying to time the punches and get a feel for how Risako moved, hoping to-
"Grah- fuck!"
Not get foiled by her opponent's reaction to her changing strategy.
Risako proved unwilling to just stay in a dominant position for long, and instead dismounted her to twist the two, rolling Liz on to her stomach. The former-boxer grunted out in frustration as her body shifted, trying to position herself closer to the ropes while Risako grabbed at her arm and pulled it out for an armbar! The boxer hissed as she felt the strain upon her, glaring at her foe, feeling the burn upon her arm as she stretched her leg out towards the rope.
"You...!"

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
Risako wrenched the arm of her opponent back with the armbar. The hiss that escaped from the former boxer's lips told her that it was working.
"What's the matter? No snappy comebacks or petty insults?" Risako taunted as she applied the pressure. While she applied the hold she felt her opponent shift beneath her. She thought Liz was trying to counter the armbar but what she was actually trying to do was pull herself closer to the ropes. Risako didn't realize it until the referee pointed out that her outstretched leg was on the bottom rope. As such she reluctantly released the former boxer's arm and stepped back at the referee's instruction.

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
"Figured your... Gah... Leg was pulled far enough... Nnh... Already...!"
Even the pain placed upon her arm wasn't quite enough to make Liz think twice about making a quip - though at the very least it seemed to drop the quips from insults to stupid puns instead. Well, for now at least.
And then: relief. Her leg hooked around the rope, and as the referee called out the break, Risako reluctantly released her and stepped back leaving Liz to push herself up to her feet. Except, the moment she went to push herself up the former-boxer leapt towards her foe, trying to throw her uninjured arm out and swinging it forth, muscles flexed as she went for a hard lariat!
"But hell, if you missed my voice so much I can fix that!"

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
Risako rolled her eyes at the lame pun as she waited for her opponent to get back up. That turned out to be a mistake however because as soon as she took her eyes off of Liz then former boxer sprang forward to launch a lariat with her uninjured arm. It came in too fast and by the time Risako realized what was happening it was too late to do anything.
“Ack!” Risako cried out as the lariat collided with her chest. The force of the impact knocked her down to the mat.

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
Liz couldn't help but grin as she felt that.
It was the greatest feeling in the world, the feeling of one of her hits colliding, followed by the unmistakable vibration of her foe hitting the mat. She'd felt the way the canvas shook in her boxing career again and again and again... And while she was gone from that ring now, the familiar feeling was nostalgic in some sense. But what she was going to do next?
That was brand new territory.
Liz kept moving, rushing towards the ropes with a wide grin on her face. Risako had some good skills on the ground, so the former-boxer figured she'd get as much of an advantage as she could, rebounding off the ropes and rushing towards her opponent's form, then leaping up and aiming to smash down into Risako with an elbow!

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
Risako hissed in pain as she lay disoriented on the mat. The lariat that knocked her down had a lot of power behind it. Instinctively Risako gingerly nursed the spot where she had been hit. But that was only the beginning as her opponent followed up the attack by building momentum before dropping an elbow onto her gut.

Re: Something's Gotta Give: Risako Spellmeyer vs Lisbeth Parker
"Hah!"
Liz couldn't help but let out a triumphant chuckle as she slammed down into the other woman, felt Risako's gut pressed in from her elbow, and heard the grunt of pain that was pressed from the woman's lips. It brought a smile to her face, one wide enough that you'd be forgiven for thinking that she'd already forgotten about being placed in a painful armbar.
But she could feel it, still, the way her arm burned, the way her muscles stung, and the desire to pay Risako back for the submission hold burned hot in her chest. So she scrambled, trying to roll Trackmeet over before her foe had a chance to recover, and if she proved successful in that... She would attempt to clamber up onto her foe's back and wrench the woman's legs back to start a Boston Crab!
