Sarabeth Chummers-Ashworth vs. The Selection (Gauntlet Match)

Sarabeth used the corner ropes to pick herself up and she held her groin as well as her head. She was exhausted right now and she wasn’t sure if she could handle too much more which was terrible for her to think this early into a gauntlet match. Sarabeth couldn’t fall at the first hurdle, because she would then just be seen as an easy target and this wasn’t going to stand. Sarabeth pounded a fist on the turnbuckle pad and it would be unacceptable to just accept defeat here. Her mom wouldn’t and would continue on. She was an Ostberg now, damn it!

Sarabeth let the cheers of the crowd guide her going over to Saka fighting through the pain still. She grabbed Saka up slapping her face and got back up grabbing the throat glaring so many daggers in the delinquent’s eyes. Sarabeth had a vision of hate and it was for every member of the Selection. Sarabeth gripped Saka’s trunks before lifting her up and back down for a hard Chokeslam! If that worked, Sarabeth just simply covered Saka for the pin and breathed hard closing her eyes.

“1! 2!”

As long as the Selection was in the ring, they were the ones in power. No one was going to deny that. They were so unpredictable, and they had so much at their disposal, that anything could happen in their matches - and no one was safe when it did. But even still, Sarabeth was putting forth a valiant effort when it came to fighting back! She had managed to bring Saka down with a suplex, and she was still shrugging off the after-effects of it, her head still spinning and her temples throbbing. Now, she was only going to keep that streak going. Most of the fans were holding on with bated breath, convinced it would only be a matter of time before the Selection pulled one of their tricks. But the fact that Sarabeth was willing to keep on fighting hard, nonetheless, won a couple of cheers out of them!

Saka wouldn't even have the time to pick herself back up before Sarabeth connected a slap right across her face, causing her to drop down coughing and sputtering. From there, though, she was able to grab hold of her throat - and plenty of fans could only gasp as she hoisted her up into the air for a chokeslam! She had already shown off the power moves her mother had made famous, and now, it seemed she was taking a page from her father's playbook. Even Saka, when she looked down from where she hung suspended in midair and met Sarabeth's eyes, couldn't help but gasp in shock. How could the Young Lioness even do such a thing?

It wouldn't save her - a moment later, Sarabeth hurled Saka down onto her back. She coughed and wheezed as the air was driven out of her lungs, and her legs kicked up into the air, her body folding in half from the sheer force of the impact. From there, the green-haired girl could get on top of her for the pin - and soon enough, the unthinkable happened.

"THREE!!"

Another gong sounded. Sarabeth had actually managed a pinfall on a member of the Selection! Saka still lay there motionless, flattened against the mat beneath her! A few more fans had begun to cheer for Sarabeth's success - slowly but surely, she was turning the tide. She was proving she had it in her to win this after all!

But that was only the first opponent - and there were still more to come. Soon enough, the Selection would remind everyone who was really in charge.

Just then, the lights went out, plunging the arena into darkness. Sarabeth could hear a giggle coming from behind her. When the lights came up a moment later, as soon as Sarabeth got up, she'd see that Saka had vanished. But what she might not see was that Miza had taken her place right behind her - with a baseball bat in her hands, one that she was now swinging right for Sarabeth's head!

Sarabeth heard the three count and rolled off coughing as she had actually managed to do what her mother was the first to do. This made her the second person ever to actually get a victory over the Selection despite it being only one member. It at least proved those that played the long game could get the job done and Astrid and Sarabeth were living proof. However, she had been in a bad spot since Saka did a good number of damage. The lights dropped back to darkness as Sarabeth had to sit up and brace for impact as when the lights returned, Saka was nowhere to be seen. She had served her purpose even if it ended in defeat.

However, that only meant she was replaced and a quick look behind Sarabeth showed that she was already back on the clock. The bat came in like a wrecking ball, but Sarabeth dodged to the side breathing heavily. She still had her groin aching and her head throbbing even if she fought through the pain. Sarabeth needed to avoid serious damage and finish this up quickly. Sarabeth rolled out of the ring trying to create distance for now.

Saka might have been down, but so what? She was the sacrificial lamb - the cannon fodder. If she couldn't beat Sarabeth, then she could at least soften her up so that when one of the higher-ranking members took to the ring, half of their work would have already been done for them. Sure enough, Sarabeth had faced no shortage of trouble in the match so far, and the damage she'd taken could only slow her down in the long run. Saka had a purpose, and she had served it well. Now, it was Miza's turn to carry on what she had started - and she would certainly start things off with a bang, when she swung the baseball bat straight at Sarabeth's head!

Had Sarabeth been a moment slower, Miza would've struck her down with the element of surprise on her side. But the green-haired girl managed to duck to the side with seconds to spare, leaving Miza standing there with her bat hanging in midair! The crowd gasped - her reflexes and timing had to have been impeccable if she could pull off something like that! Miza tilted her head to the side, letting out a huff. "Awww...here, I was really looking forward to seeing how much you'd bleed!" she pouted. But she wouldn't let this slow her down, either.

Sarabeth quickly took flight, rushing out of the ring to try and get away from Miza. But the redhead wasn't one to let her get away so easily. "Heeey, where are you going?" she cried. Dropping the bat, she ran toward Sarabeth at full speed; if she could get to the ropes in time, she'd jump over them to try and land on top of Sarabeth on the outside with a suicide dive! Sarabeth was looking to catch her breath, but Miza wouldn't let her get away so easily!

Sarabeth hadn’t expected to get bombarded out of the gate, but against The Selection, she knew she had to really dig her deepest and she barely got over Saka. Now, Sarabeth had her redhead friend to deal with and Miza was probably the more unhinged stating things about wanting to see how Sarabeth bled. It sent serial killer vibes down Sarabeth’s spine and she had to get out of the ring while she could. Only for Miza to launch her body through the ropes and pounce on Sarabeth with a coordinated suicide dive! Sarabeth gasped and Miza hit her launching Sarabeth fast over the barricade into the crowd as she landed on several members! They had to scurry out of the row before Miza decided they were targets as well leaving Sarabeth on the knocked over chairs pile.

Saka might have been angry, and she might have packed quite a punch with that anger, but at least anger was a rational human emotion - at least it was something Sarabeth could understand. And at least Saka had kept things inside the ring. With Miza, all bets were off. While Saka was quiet, seething rage, Miza was pure unpredictable insanity! And when she rushed straight after Sarabeth on her way out of the ring, she was driven by nothing less than a whim to see chaos and destruction unfold!

In fact, Miza's suicide dive worked even better than she had planned it. Not only did Sarabeth go down, but she spilled over the barricade in the process, landing in the seating area! People scattered in all directions in a panic, but that left Sarabeth dazed and shaking herself out from on top of a pile of chairs. And that was going to play right into Miza's plans.

Slowly, the redhead lifted herself up from where she'd landed, draping one arm over the top of the barricade; she tilted her head toward Sarabeth and giggled. "Ooh, you're not even running away, huh? Biiiig mistake!" With that, she hopped over the barricade and onto the other side, where she would go to grab a chair and slam it down on top of Sarabeth, hopefully knocking her against those scattered beneath her in the process!

Sarabeth never expected this much control the Selection had and the rules didn’t even matter anymore. The chair walloped her exposed back as Sarabeth grimaced in pain sitting up on her knees fluttering her eyes as she arched her body and screamed in pain. The fans backed up not wanting any piece of Miza as Sarabeth went back down. She needed to get out of this predicament and fast! She didn’t have help right now and it was looking like Miza could stop her before she even reached the elite disciples. The Selection was fair and allowed their targets space to prove themselves, but they ran the show and the referee only abided by their wishes.
