Just as Hiro’s worry began to gnaw at him, the sound of the door unlocking snapped him out of his thoughts. He turned his head toward the entrance as the door creaked open, revealing Fang stepping inside with a bag in hand.

Hiro stood up from the couch, his expression softening at the sight of her. He approached her, his tone warm as he greeted her in Japanese.

“おかえり、ファング (Okaeri, Fang).”

His eyes briefly scanned her, noting the faint flush in her cheeks, likely from the cold outside.

“大丈夫か？(Are you okay?)”

Fang walked in to see Hiro scanning her, as if concerned by something.

"Hey, Hiro." Fang responded to Hiro as soon came in. Not wanting to have Hiro see what was in the bag, she placed it in a nice spot that was out of the way.

"I'm doing good." Fang answered, "Just feeling a bit of a chill."

Hiro walked over to Fang, his concerned expression softening as he approached her. Without a word, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug, letting the warmth of his body chase away the lingering chill from outside.

“寒かったのか (Samukatta no ka)?”

Hiro murmured softly, his voice full of care.

“You’re cold.”

Hiro tightened his hold slightly, resting his chin on her head.

“I’m glad you’re back,”

he said quietly.

“I was starting to worry.”

Fang responded by hugging Hiro, as soon as he hugged her. It was moments like these that Fang enjoyed.

"I'm alright." Fang nodded as she felt Hiro's hand touch her chin, as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, "Was just out and lost track of time."

After they broke the hug, the two ventured to near the kitchen.

"How was training today?" Fang asked Hiro with a curious tone.

Hiro ran a hand through his hair as they made their way near the kitchen, letting out a small sigh.

“Training was… intense,”

he admitted, leaning against the counter.

“Kenzo pushed us hard today, focusing on endurance drills. I swear he gets some kind of twisted enjoyment out of seeing everyone exhausted.”

He glanced at Fang, a small smirk playing on his lips.

“But it’s nothing I can’t handle. You know how it is—just another day at the gym.”

Hiro paused for a moment, then tilted his head slightly.

“But enough about that. What about you? You said you lost track of time—were you just wandering around, or was there something on your mind?”

His eyes lingered on her for a moment, his curiosity evident.

Fang listened to Hiro explain how his day played out. It did indeed seem to be the usual. As she listened to Hiro's explanation, she noted that he was curious about what she had been up to.

"Well, just met up with Anna and spent some time with her." Fang answered, "Almost maybe too much "some time" and just forgot about the time." She laughed a bit at that.

"I didn't make you worry, did I?" Fang said in a sincere manner, but had some hints of a sultry tone underneath.

Hiro immediately noticed the shift in Fang’s tone. It was subtle, but it was there—a hint of sultriness woven into her otherwise innocent question. His body tensed slightly, his grip tightening on the counter as he forced himself to stay composed.

She was testing him.

Hiro cleared his throat, keeping his expression neutral.

“A little,”

he admitted, meeting her gaze.

“You were gone for a while, and you didn’t text back right away. But I figured you were just busy.”

He paused, watching her closely, as if trying to determine if she was doing this on purpose or if it was just his own mind playing tricks on him. But no—there was something in her eyes, in the way she was carrying herself. Something different.

Fang nodded as Hiro said she must have been busy. She noticed that Hiro's grip on the counter tighten. He was trying to keep himself composed in response to her sultry tone. It was definitely clear that something was different with how Fang carried herself.

"I did pick up a couple of things." Fang then continued, "I could show you...but..." She kept that subtle sultry undertone, as if to tempt Hiro to wanting to know more.

Hiro swallowed hard, his grip on the counter tightening even more. He could feel the tension creeping up his spine as Fang’s voice dripped with that same sultry undertone. He was trying—*really* trying—to stay composed, to keep his focus.

But then she dropped that line.

"I did pick up a couple of things. I could show you... but..."

The way she trailed off, the teasing lilt in her voice—it was a trap. A very well-laid trap. And Hiro, despite everything, despite two weeks of gritting his teeth and resisting, found himself falling right into it.

His jaw tensed. He tried to force himself to respond casually, like it wasn’t getting to him, but the curiosity had already won. He had to know.

“But…?”

He finally asked, his voice betraying just the slightest waver of interest.

Fang smirked as she could tell that Hiro, despite his efforts to maintain his composure, and to try and resist it, gave into his curiosity. But she decided to pretend to be changing her mind, as she turned her back on him.

"I know that you've been very busy," Fang continued, "and it would be rude to distract you. That is if you're so easily distracted." She was banking on that last comment to challenge Hiro's pride.
