8 Years Ago: Renee Steinhauser VS. Bengal

With some difficulty, the referee managed to force Bengal off, giving Renee a moment to catch her breath. She rose to her feet, bracing herself against the ring ropes for balance. Bengal saw an opportunity to throw Renee out of the ring, just as the Renegade had done with her. Let's see how she likes it, she thought bitterly. As soon as the referee cleared out of the way, the Tiger charged forward, with her arm held out perpendicular to her body. She was aiming a lariat clothesline directly at Renee's neck, trying to knock her over the ropes! But it was a sloppy move, born from Bengal's anger, and Renee could see it coming from a mile away.

Renee would be laying on the ropes to take her breather. She couldn’t believe she was standing in the ring with the new and worsened Bengal. She saw her charging at her ready to knock over her the ropes like she did to her. However, Renee was savvy in the ring and before Bengal could reach her, Renee put up her leg and delivered a big boot to the face of Bengal.

Bengal saw Renee's leg start to move, but she wasn't able to raise her arms in time to defend herself. Before she could react, Renee's savage kick hit her square in the face. "UGH!" A shower of spittle flew from Bengal's mouth as her neck snapped back. She staggered backward for a moment, before collapsing limply to the mat. Her eyes were half-open and unfocused. A purple bruise was already starting to form across one of her cheeks. She let out a low moan of pain as she rolled onto her side, clutching her jaw.

Renee would lay on the ropes as she saw Bengal collapse on the floor. She had her moment and she was gonna take it. She stumbled towards Bengal and would sit on her back. She then tiredly pulled up Bengal’s shoulder and would place her in the Interrogation hold. She would also make it painful as she bounced on the lower back of Bengal as well as pulling Bengal all the way back for the camel clutch. Renee also screamed at Bengal with passion.

“Was this what you wanted Bengal? You wanted me to hurt you like this? You were my best friend! My tag team partner! And you’re wanting to throw it all away for what? FOR WHAT! WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME DO THIS TO YOU?”

Bengal's eyes were screwed tight with agony. With each bounce Renee made upon her back, she felt like her spine was going to snap in two. But when the referee came over to check if she was submitting, her only response was a disgusted snarl, and a shake of her head. "You think...you're hurting me?" She managed to gasp. "You can't...hurt me...anymore!" She strained forward, trying to buck Renee off her back while slowly beginning to pry her hands apart.

Renee would try her best to maintain the hold. Right now, this was personal between the two as Renee would have her hands prying off the chin of Bengal as well as riding the tiger.

Eventually, Renee released the hold and did a ninja roll to be up on her feet. She then turned around and stared at Bengal, waiting for what’s next for the Tiger.

Bengal's back had almost given out in the interrogation hold, but her jealous anger seemed to give her new strength. She locked eyes with Renee for a tense moment, before slowly drawing her finger across her throat in a threatening gesture. Then she pounced forward, readying herself for a high kick. The Tiger hadn't forgotten the pain she'd suffered from Renee's big boot, and was looking to pay the Renegade back in kind.

Renee would do a sorta meta move in this match as she watched Bengal go for a high kick of her own. She would unknowingly also bounce off the ropes as she was going towards her. That was when she decided to take flight and after dodging the kick, she would hit Bengal with a running flying elbow. Once she hit her, Renee would try to place Bengal in a triangle hold.

Bengal sputtered for breath as Renee locked in another brutal submission move. She tried to free her trapped arm, tried to pry Renee's legs off her throat. But the Renegade had been right: she was the superior grappler. Blackness was beginning to creep in around the edges of Bengal's vision. If she didn't escape soon, she'd lose the match by technical knockout. She could tap out, of course. But that wasn't an option. She'd burned her bridges with Renee, and there was no going back.

She had only one choice remaining. With the last of her strength, she reared up, then drove Renee down with a powerbomb. It was an unexpected move from the Tiger, who more often focused on strikes and technical submissions. The maneuver strained her injured back, causing her to cry out in pain - but it also smashed Renee hard on her head, momentarily stunning her. The triangle hold loosened, and Bengal slipped free, panting. Renee's submission had left more bruises on the sides of her neck, and she felt like she'd pulled a muscle in one of her arms. Even though she'd never admit it, Bengal had become accustomed to tag matches. She'd grown to count on Renee's support, on having a partner to tag in whenever she started to tire. But a one-on-one contest like this required more endurance, and hers was being pushed to its limits.

Renee nearly had Bengal when she applied the triangle hole on Bengal. She was digging deep into her wrestling training back in high school to slowly drain the life out of Bengal. She could see her fading until she felt the anger boiling up inside her opponent as she was then lifted up by Bengal before being slammed down with a powerbomb onto her head.

Renee obviously let go after that move as the referee ran in to check on Renee to see if she suffered a concussion. They would be talking to Renee, checking to see if she can still continue. They were about to hold up the X before Renee grabbed them by the shirt and told them she is ready to continue.
