Yeah. Today is not just any day, but a beginning. The very start of her road to glory. At least, that's how she prefers to see it. It's not everyday what L.A.W. decides to put a young lioness, a debutante, a real honest pro-wrestling rookie, against one of their pros, right? She asked for it herself. She should feel satisfied.

But her opponent is Tsumiki Mikan. That Tsumiki Mikan, not some perfect namesake. And Tomila can't help herself but think if someone decide to make fun of her by arranging this match. Her grand debut... against known weakling. For chort's sake, this girl didn't win even once in, like, two years of wrestling in L.A.W.! What a joke.

One last look at the mirror to check her hairstyle, rather simple wrestling gear and overall state. She is, of course, a perfect ten and ready to go. So she did, leaving a locker room and head to entrance. She will be called soon.

Besides, she thought to herself, doesn't all whose fighting organizations just loves to make sure their prized stars looks good? Easy win await her, but it's all in a name of Zaykina Tomila Timurovna's rise to fame! Then, after her undisputed win, they'd give her good opponents to overcome so she'll give her all not as new face, but established wrestler! Half a year and she will be in competition for title belt!

This made Toma giggle a little. Some nobody worker saw it. One second, and she force her pretty face in a mask of stoicism, show this sucker a kukish and proceed on her way as nothing happen.

Then her music starts, and she enters the arena, not a trace of her soured mood visible. She's good, she's beautiful and she doesn't jitter as she walk to a ring, with a cold expression of "typical russian beauty" on her face. Even if she really, really wanted to strangle ring announcer for omitting her patronim. She explicitly asked stuff to not do this, dammit!

She nearly forgot to interact with fans because of that. Not like she wants to do this, but trainers made a solid case for it. For starters, she jump on a ringside, which is not much by itself. Toma then turns around, eying fans in arena with cold stare... and decides that nah, there is no need to pamper them with attention too much. They are witnesses of her grand debut, after all. They already have the best thing to brag about to their future grandchildren!

So Tomila walks to a center of a ring, pierce announcer with her gaze for his heresy. Zaykina shows him a kukish as well, just for a good measure, and then stand near a corner, awaiting her opponent. Or, rather, victim. Offering? Like, really, why did she even wrestle, this Mikan girl?

Beforehand, Mikan Tsumiki had been told that this was probably the best chance for a win that she's gotten in her career thus far. Her opponent was a Russian rookie who believed she was much better than she actually was. An overconfidence that could possibly be exploited, followed by a possible mental collapse when the ego his met with a reality different from what it had believed.

Mikan still wasn't expected to win of course, but this was one of the rarer times where the odds were closer to even than they were to 0-100. The nurse really wanted this win too. After returning from an extended absence just to get humiliated and made an example of by Claire Thompson, the calls to get Mikan into a match for the Loser's Belt picked up right where they had left off. If that happened, then the nurse may never be able to show her face in Japan again.

Mikan's music came on, and the jobber came out from backstage for her entrance. The roaring crowds never stopped overwhelming the introverted girl. They didn't even try to hide how they wanted to see her sexy body lewded and put on display by stronger women. Mikan did appreciate those who came in hopes of seeing the underdog finally notch a win, but they were a scant few in a sea of ravenous fans there to see her get taken apart.

When Mikan entered the ring, she was met with a gorgeous blonde awaiting her. She didn't look nervous at all compared to the nurse's state of constant anxiety. If 100 fans were to be shown the women in the ring without context and asked to guess which one was making her professional debut, it's likely that not one of them would've been right. "H-h-hello," Mikan stuttered out. "Pleased to m-m-meet y-you."

Difference in crowd's treatment is easy to notice. Japanese people are polite, not mentioning more savory cultural stuff, so they give her a somewhat warm welcome. But when Tsumiki's music starts, that's when crowd became really loud. No wonder, vast majority of fans came to this show to see Combat Medic, not some newcomer who's yet to prove herself. Nothing strange, and no reason to feel bitter about it.

Zaykina did feel bitter tho. For at least ten seconds. When her brain finished translating most of a things fans were screaming at her opponent, leaving Toma with a peculiar mix of spanish shame and pity for japanese girl instead. Tsumiki Mikan probable knew what she's getting into then she came to L.A.W, but given her scaredy look? Toma had to to suppress her sudden wish wrap her opponent in a blanket and take her to some georgian restaurant for comfort eating.

Well, granny raised a good girl, but it'll have to wait. First thing first, Tomila need to win, and only then she can feed her inner otaku by showing a cute japanese pussycat glory of post-soviet nations cuisine. So she force her face to not show her inner thoughts (this made her look annoyed, not shat Toma notice), and respond to Tsumiki's pre-match chit-chat with a nod. "Mikan-senpai."

Way to show her opponent some respect by not showing her any real respect. It'll be strange to use proper keigo with someone she's gonna destroy, right? Still, Tomila didn't want her victory to be soured by crowd intense bullying, so she might as well show some sportsmanship? Camaraderie? Yeah, that's a word!

"Afterwards," says Tomila, while pointing her index finger on Mikan, her face still a cold mask, "you food."

Did Zaykina realize what she didn't really said what she meant to? No. Tomila didn't have a time for such things as proper english, match will be started any second!

So Mila take a stance - a karate one - and... mentally froze. She knew she need to strike immediately after bell is ringed, but how exactly? Punch? No, think of a distance... kick?! Roundhouse?!

Mikan was immediately getting mixed signals from Tomila. The blonde looked like she was irritated with Mikan for simply being there. But she also regarded the nurse as 'senpai,' giving respect and acknowledging Mikan as her wrestling senior, which was especially notable since Tomila was distinctly not Japanese. However, if something was ambiguous, Mikan almost always went negative with it. So the jobber put much more stock in Tomila's look than her words.

As a result, when Mikan heard what Tomila said next, she started freaking out. "W-W-W-WHAT?!" she cried out. "I'm f-f-food? Y-you want to e-e-eat me!" Mikan was shaking and trembling out of control, now fully convinced that she was sharing the ring with a psychopath who was going to try to cannibalize her after beating her up. Tenderizing her, even.

It felt like only a moment later when Tomila's leg went flying through the air at Mikan's head. "Kyah!" yelped the nurse as she ducked under the blow by pure panic reaction. Already desperate out of fear for her safety, Mikan would throw her body at Tomila's plant leg, trying to take it out and take the Russian down to the mat while her kicking leg was still up in the air.

It was a great roundhouse. Not, it was a near-perfect mawashi geri! Toma feels so proud of herself, what her opponent's squeaks were so insignificant.

And then, Tsumiki ducks. And not in a cute birdy sense of a word - Mikan dodged her beautiful kick! While yelping "kyah"! This damned bitch!

Tomila's mind became blank. She was caught off guard by Mikan's sudden dodge so strongly, what, then her opponent makes next move, Zaykina didn't respond properly. With wide eyes and startled yelp, arrogant russian girl fall on her back. Match just started, and she's already taken down. By Tsumiki Mikan. By a god damn jobber.

With cheeks red from shame and humiliation, Zaykina starts to chaotically wriggle, to lash out with desperate punches. Maybe, if she was in her right mind, she'd successfully wrestle out of her predicament. But...

"Пшла прочь!"

... Mila was anything but thinking straight. Panic and inexperience won't allow her to find and take any of ways out, and her russian colloquialism was not helping too. "Get out", by the way.

Mikan had survived the first attack from her possibly cannibalistic opponent. The kick had been dodged, and Zaykina had been tackled to the ground. The nurse had absolutely no clue what the blonde had said, but being able to write it off as gibberish was probably better for her mental state than if she had said something that Mikan had actually understood.

Mikan's instincts wanted to go for a smother, since her breasts and butt were two of the few things that the self-deprecating woman would admit were good about herself. But being so far away from Tomila's face made Mikan scared that she'd get countered before getting up there. So instead, Mikan would try to use the fact that she had one of the Russian's legs under control to try to flip Tomila over and put her in a Single Leg Boston Crab.

Now, maybe chaotic lashing with fists is good enough tactic to prevent your opponent from doing something painful to you. Maybe! But not when your opponent take control of your leg, and trying to punch her will make your position even more unstable.

In a hindsight, Tomila should've kick Mikan in a face instead. Clever thought, but not when japanese girl already successfully flip your body. Not for a heck of it, of course.

Another short yelp escape Zaykina's mouth before she can shut it up. Half Boston Crab may not look most impressive, and Tsumiki Mikan surely not strongest woman around. It matters not then you are a victim to a move, physical pain from it just amplifier for humiliation Toma feels right now. She needs to do something, to break a hold, but only thoughts what came to her mind is that of her shameful performance on her debut match.

In the end, best thing Tomila can think of is quite primitive - to just overpower Mikan. Break a submission hold via sheer strength. It may work, of course, but is it really wise to tire herself so early in a match?

She can think about it when she's not in pain from submission hold.

Mikan was doing it. She locked in a submission hold, she was in the lead! But Zaykina wasn't just going to lay there and take it like Mikan might have been forced to if she were in the blonde's position. The Russian was kicking, trashing, and bucking to break free, and eventually she did. Mikan was thrown off, and started to go stumbling.

"Wuh- woah!" Mikan yelped as she tried to balance herself. But she soon realized it would be a fruitless endeavor, so instead she managed some quick thinking and decided to try to control where she fell. Tripping over herself, the nurse would try to turn her body so that she would fall on top of Tomila's back before she could get up.

"Ugh!" Mikan would grunt when she landed regardless of whether or not her body met its mark. If Mikan missed and she just landed face down on the mat, then she was probably just screwed. But if the nurse did manage to come down on Zaykina's back, she'd panic for a moment as she tried to figure out what to do, before settling on attempting to wrap her arms around Tomila's throat for a Rear naked Chokehold.
