Sunlit Escapades: A Day of Play and Connection

Hiro felt his face flush, the sudden intimacy of the moment catching him off guard. His heart raced a bit, and his usual calm demeanor slipped as he realized how close she was. He hadn’t expected this conversation to turn so... personal. He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to compose himself.

"Y-Yeah, I’m definitely enjoying this,"

Hiro stammered, his voice a little shaky. He could feel the warmth creeping up his neck and into his cheeks, and he knew his face was probably a blushing mess by now. He smiled despite his flustered state, appreciating the playful nature of their interaction.

"You really know how to make an impression,"

he added, laughing softly, his eyes briefly darting between her captivating green eyes and the playful flick of her fox tail.

"I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting... this."

His honesty was obvious, though it was clear he was enjoying her company more than he was letting on.

The woman chuckled again as she noted that Hiro's voice was getting a bit shaky. Of course she also noticed the obvious signs on his face that he was flustered by the situation.

"I guess you weren't, Hiro." she again, referring to him by name, "Of course I wonder how your girlfriend would feel right now?" She made a teasing wink as she said this.

Hiro blinked, his blush deepening as he processed what she said. How did she know he had a girlfriend? His curiosity piqued, and despite the teasing, he couldn’t help but ask,

"Wait... how do you know I have a girlfriend?"

The blonde woman leaned in a bit and said, "Well..." Before she could even answer, the voice of a similar black-haired woman blurted, "What the hell is this!?"

Both the blonde woman and Hiro (if he would) would turn around to see Fang, in a stylized, but still revealing black swimsuit, and she did not look happy.

"You!" Fang would say, glaring eyes at the blonde woman.

"Hello, Miss Jungle Gal!" the woman would respond mockingly with a fake wave, "How has living among the bugs been doing for you?"

"Better than pretending to be a flea-infested fox." Fang shot back. She moved towards the woman, looking very mad. The woman, responded in kind by getting off her seat and walking towards Fang. They both were standing nearly in each other's face.

"See that your fashion sense is trashy as ever." the woman said to Fang eyeing her swimsuit.

"Better than trying to pass of as a real blonde." Fang replied immediately.

Everyone inside the beach bar looked a bit concerned that the two ladies were about to throw fists. Indeed, the two of them were staring intensely at each other for a long while. Eventually, both would bring their arms back, as if they were both about to throw punches. And they indeed brought their hands in for a...high five? As if the intense standoff immediately did a 180, as the woman who appeared hostile to each other, both Fang and this woman did a high five and hugged each other happily.

"So good to see you!" Fang said to the woman as they hugged.

"Right back at you, Candy." the woman said, with the nickname a clear reference to Fang's real name "Candice". As they broke the hug, the woman had her hands on Fang's waist, while Fang had her hands on the woman's shoulders, showcasing to everyone that the two women were close friends.

"Looking as beautiful as ever." the woman complimented Fang. As they talked, the intensity died down, and everyone else went back to their drinks and other business.

Hiro, who had been watching in stunned silence, finally exhaled in relief, his heart still racing from the unexpected standoff. He laughed a bit nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well, that was... something."

Hiro, still processing the sudden shift from hostility to friendship, raised an eyebrow.

"You two almost gave me a heart attack."

He looked at the blonde woman, still curious.

"So... how do you two know each other?"

Both women were in the moment of the reunion, but Fang quickly picked up Hiro's voice and turned to face him.

"Sorry dear." Fang apologized to Hiro for the slight scare as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, "Seemed like my friend here came sooner than I thought." She looked at the other woman briefly who blinked her eyes multiple times while giving an innocent expression.

"Hiro, this is Kasumi." Fang said to Hiro, introducing him to Kasumi, "Kasumi, you've met Hiro."

"Yes I have." Kasumi said as she brought out her hand to properly shake Hiro's, "Candy told me how you helped her out with learning some new moves at LAW. Guess you got through to her in some way." She gave a playful wink, as that made that last comment suggestive. Of course, it was all for laughs.

"Oh you." Fang chuckled giving Kasumi a playful slap on the shoulder, "Kassy and I go way back. She visited my high school as part of an exchange student program. We connected through martial arts classes. And from there, we've known each other for a long while."

"For better or for worse." Kasumi teased again, "So, your Japanese getting any better?"

Fang nodded as she said, "Yeah, Hiro's been real helpful with that."

"Among other things he taught." Kasumi replied with a giggle.

"Okay that was obvious cringe." Fang responded with a small laugh, to which Kasumi shrugged her shoulders with an amused smile.

Hiro, who had been listening to the conversation with a growing smile, finally chimed in.

"I think I’m starting to get used to the two of you,"

he said with a light laugh.

"It’s like watching two pros go back and forth. But it’s nice to meet you properly, Kasumi."

He looked at Fang and added with a grin,

"I guess now I know where some of those sarcastic comebacks come from."

Fang smirked a little bit in response to Hiro's comments about where she got a bit of her sarcastic side.

"Now, now..." Kasumi said, "Candi here's sweet. She would never use sarcasm. Totally never." Both girls would laugh a bit as they would order something from the bar.

"So, I guess you'll be leaving soon?" Fang asked Kasumi. The blonde woman nodded as she answered, "Yeah, got my first match at LAW coming. I got the call yesterday, so I'll have to leave by tonight."

Hiro, catching the mood, playfully pouted.

"Awww, don’t go~"

he said in a teasing tone. Then, with a grin, he added,

"Who’s going to keep Fang in check if you’re not around to do it?"

Despite things being short, Fang and Kasumi did enjoy the fact that they got to meet up again. Kasumi heard Hiro's teasing and playful remark about her having to go.

"You've seemed to have figured that out." Kasumi teased right back before putting her hand on Hiro's shoulder, "Otherwise, I'd feel sorry for you. Especially since Candi can be a wild gal." Fang smirked and blushed a bit as her friend said this. Eventually, Fang and Kasumi would hug, with Fang wishing the latter good luck in her upcoming match.

As Kasumi would leave, Fang would join Hiro at the table.

"How was that for a start of the afternoon?" Fang playfully teased as she gave Hiro a quick kiss on the lips.
