Overshadowing the Grand Duchess: Oleander (debut) vs Alena Stepanova

Oleander: This doesn’t concern you, please.. just leave me alone..

Cashmere: Ollie, she’s not doing anything malicious.. she just wants to make sure that you’re o-

Oleander: I SAID.. (Her eyes start to glow while an aura of darkness surrounds her.) LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!

As the Scholar of the Shadows let out her scream, it caused a shockwave of darkness to sweep across the arena with the lights suddenly going out before the backup generators turning them back on. Oleander would soon run back to the locker room, sobbing her eyes out.. but these were not tears of joy or sadness mind you, these were tears.. OF FEAR.

Cashmere: Kjæreste, vent!! (She would soon head backstage to check on her scared girlfriend, making sure she wouldn’t do anything she might regret.)

Alena was legitimately concerned for Oleander, but the Englishwoman was in no frame of mind to talk about that right now. That much was apparent when a roar of rage went up from her lungs - and with that, Alena froze. Her eyes went wide and her face grew pale as she took a step back from her opponent. Something was clearly wrong. Even Oleander's entourage barely knew what was going on. This wasn't the strong, confident woman Alena had just finished a match with...there was something else at stake.

In fact, it was just then that the lights overhead cut out, and a gasp could be heard through the arena as it threw the fans into shock! Everything fell into complete silence. Even after the generators went back up, every pair of eyes was staring out blankly at what had just occurred. Sure, it could have been an electrical failure that hit at the perfect time...but it seemed like almost too much of a coincidence that that would happen just as Oleander hit the crescendo of her emotions. Was there something unexplainable at hand?

Even Alena herself didn't know what had happened. One moment, Oleander had been a capable martial artist and an opponent she would be proud to say she faced off against...the next, it seemed, she was terrified of her own inner impulses; impulses the Russian grappler hadn't seen coming, and which she was still processing. She stared off into the distance even as her opponent fled the scene. One thing was for sure, though. Oleander had made an unforgettable first impression, and surely she was only getting started...
