Cody had just arrived in Tokyo a few hours prior and already booked a hotel to stay for two weeks. His agreement with LAW is that he would fly in two weeks out of every month to helps hold classes for future wrestlers and maybe even help out with the Young Lions and Lionesses honing their skills and continue their development. He had arranged many of his suits for the trip bringing three with him and mainly packed casual clothes and clothes he used for church. Cody also packed a few sets of exercise clothes to go along with his job and he wore his first pair to the local LAW gym today. He saw people working out whether it was lifting weights or practicing kicks on the sandbags. Most of them were women since this was largely a women’s promotion and he adverted his eyes to keep himself from being seen as a creep.
There were some practice rings in the middle of the gym and all of them were barren. He chose one and sat his bag down rubbing his hands maybe hoping he could find a sparring partner today. Until then, Cody climbed the ropes and headed inside the ropes wanting to practice his bumps considering he was getting older and had to continually make sure his body was up for the stress and pressure. Cody jumped backwards onto the mat grunting as he was starting his warmup.
Reclining on a bench in the gym Drasna sighed softly as she relaxed for a moment, having already worked out for about a hour or so she had developed a layer of sweat that caused her body to glisten a bit. And with her wearing a simple white sports bra and matching pair of bicycle shorts quite a lot of her body was allowed to show the results of her work.
However most of what Drasna had done was solo working out and she really wanted to get in a spar if she could, but that meant finding a willing partner. Getting up she would head over to the practice rings, hopefully she could find someone already there waiting or looking for a partner as well to have a spar. As she approached though she saw only one person, a man by the looks of it which was rare but not an impossibility.
Regardless it could actually be a great chance for her to really get a workout in since he looked almost a complete match for herself. Although also helped he was easy on the eyes. Approaching the ring he was in and hopping onto the apron Drasna would give a wave to the man. "Hello! Sorry to disturb you, but I was looking to have a spar, would you care to oblige?" Drasna asked politely while leaning on the ropes, not yet entering the ring until the unknown man gave a answer.
Cody grunted after each drop onto the mat as his body took the brunt of the impact of the hard mat. This is why he always wore singlets and long pants to his matches. They padded his body from too much damage even if he sweated like a pig afterwards from a combination of the match and the heat off of the stadium lights. Cody then did about five more bumps before he heard feet shuffling on the apron and an older woman’s voice calling out to him. Cody sat up on the mat seeing Drasna and he instantly blushed upon seeing her beauty. The wrinkles were apparent on her skin so he could tell she was older just like him, but the way she looked so athletic and skinny made him blush even crazier. He shook his head a little to compose himself before getting up.
“Heh, I’d be happy to. Sorry for acting weird there. Most of the gyms I’ve been to have been co-ed with more men as there are women. I guess I’m a fish out of water here. I’m Cody, a new trainer with LAW and a wrestler myself,” Cody greeted as he held the ropes open for Drasna and held his left hand out for a handshake.
Drasna smiled still at Cody even as he took a moment to notice her before getting up and responding. Naturally she didn't hold it against him knowing how intense workouts like this could get, if anything she was just glad that he had noticed her as soon as he did. Offering another wave to the man she would chuckle and nod at what he said. "Haha no worries you're fine. Believe me you're most welcome here as far as I'm concerned." Drasna said warmly before nodding and getting a bit more interested at what he said. "I see! Excellent then! Sounds like you'll make the perfect sparring partner then, at least if you're up for it." Drasna said with a competitive smile whilst leaning on the top rope, offering a slight view of her chest in the process as she waited for a answer.
Cody had come here to try and find somebody to spar mostly to see if his body could handle the bumps still this age. His body was doing well just by himself, but he still needed to test it out against other people. Perhaps this woman could be of service in helping him understand his limits at his age and the same could be said for him to her. Cody cleared his throat as the woman threw on a competitive smile clearly wanting this challenge so he smirked back himself.
“I do need to test my body out still and even more since I just turned 50. I think it’s only right to take up the first challenge that presents itself. Just hope I don’t surprise you too much for a man my age,” Cody challenged playfully with his hands on his hips.
Seeing the competitive smirk on Cody's mouth in response to her own Drasna's own smirk would increase just a bit, already knowing the answer from him before he even spoke. But he would still answer officially and confirm as much to her making Drasna smile a bit wider as she entered the ring and rolled her arms. "Non sense you're only a few years older than I am, I'll just consider it a preview of what I'll be capable of in the future." Drasna said confidently while cracking her knuckles in preparation as she began to circle Cody, holding her hands out to invite him for a lock up to start things out.
Cody circled Drasna as he settled into pace and put his mind in action thinking of this as an official match. He is no stranger to facing women in the ring sharing plenty of encounters over his career and he didn’t intend to underestimate Drasna. Cody closed in on her for a standard lock up before ducking down on his knees pulling her on his shoulders before trying to flip her on the mat with a fireman’s carry slam. In the process, Cody finished his opening move with a grab of Drasna’s left arm wrenching it hard to start damaging her. He wasn’t going to go totally hard, but he never did like to start off slow with rest holds and endless chain wrestling. It’s better to make your point clear in wrestling rather than waste time feeling the other up.
“If you wish to see what you are truly capable of, miss, then you have to know to get right to making your intentions clear. You did it with your words now do it with your wrestling,” Cody challenged wrenching the arm further.
Drasna continued to smile at Cody as the two began to circle each other, a feeling of competition definitely sparking between them, and maybe some other feelings who knew? But for now what Drasna was focused on was Cody as he approached for the lock up, only to come in low towards her instead. Feeling her legs grabbed and lifted over the man she was taken down to the mat with a grunt of pain.
However Before he could pull her arm back Drasna would turn herself on the mat and lift her leg up before shooting it outward to try and kick Cody away from her! If successful Drasna would roll away before getting back on her knees. "Trust me I plan on it." Drasna said with a smile as she tried to get back up to start circling Cody once more.
Cody grunted as Drasna’s kick met his arms just as he raised to block. The kick still had some force behind it as he stepped back some and Cody knew the veteran instinct when he saw it. Some younger students couldn’t even think to counter fast enough, but Drasna was right on the ball as they both circled each other. However, he would sit back and let Drasna have a chance to open with her own firepower. As much as this was a spar, Cody needed to know her own capabilities on the offense and he beckoned her to show it with his smirk.
Drasna smirked gleefully as she managed to push Cody back and open herself up to get back up, circling Cody for a moment with her hands up. When it became clear that she was being given the chance to go on offense though she would smirk a bit wider and dart forward as if for a lock up. At the last moment however she would duck low and move to grab his leg before getting behind him, trying to pull his leg up if successful to knock him down onto his stomach before twisting his foot to lock in a anchilles lock!
