Ireland Against the Jungle: Maya Fowler [d] vs. Cathy

The ref signaled to Maya to release her choke after Cathy's arm fell limp back to the canvas for a third time. "You'd rather go to sleep too huh? I respect that!" Maya stood up and moved her way back to her corner. She was glad to have evened the score so quickly. With the score now even, only one fall remained. Maya would take the time to rest figuring Cathy would come at her with everything to avoid the loss.

Cathy would drift into dreamland. Then open her eyes and takes a deep breath and little disoriented seeing Maya in the corner. Cathy would say, "good move your figure is definitely not just for show!" Cathy would slowly get up on all fours and stretches her back and gets up to fully recover. Then Cathy would sit up and take a pose and say "Ready when you are! Let give our best for the last point!" as Cathy would sit in her pose on the ground. This time hoping Maya would come to her.

Maya took Cathy's praise wholeheartedly. "Thanks!" It seemed like despite being out only moments before, Cathy was quick to recover. "Give me everything you've got!" Maya would approach Cathy slowly as the jungle girl sat on the ground. Since it didn't seem like she was planning to move, Maya would suddenly rush forward looking to land a drop kick on Cathy.

Cathy would watch Maya and hear Maya's reply and then start charging to do a drop kick. Cathy would quickly duck out of the way and roll to the side as Maya would land with a thud on the Mat. Cathy would say "Not falling for that one again!" then would attempt to grab at Maya's Legs to attempt to pin then down.

Maya should have known she wouldn't catch Cathy with another dropkick. With adrenaline pumping through her veins knowing this was the final fall, Maya had gotten a little careless. Landing flat on her back, Maya was open to Cathy to counter. The jungle girl would move toward Maya's legs to pin them and knowing the power Cathy possessed, Maya was keen not to allow that easily.

Maya would sit herself up and try to throw some strikes at Cathy's face as she approached to trap the redhead's legs.

Cathy felt Maya land on the mat beside her and went to try to immobilize Maya’s legs as Cathy rolled over and grab she is met with Maya sitting up doing 2 strikes to Cathy’s face which knocked her backwards and all but losing grip on Maya’s legs. Cathy retaliated with a punch to Maya’s stomach but Cathy is having trouble seeing with the strikes to her face

Maya managed to land a couple hits to Cathy's face that sent the girl back toward the mat. In retaliation, Cathy threw a strike at Maya that landed on the redhead's stomach. However, as Cathy was falling back there wasn't much behind it. Seeing Cathy falling back to the mat, Maya would move to follow her down. She'd aim to wrap her arms around Cathy's head while attempting to trap an arm within her grasp.

If she could trap the arm, Maya would use to head to maintain the position. This would hopefully allow her to lock in an arm triangle choke.

Cathy was throwing several punches but because Cathy was falling backwards the punches did not land a solid hit. As Cathy Landed she felt Maya follow her down which now Cathy would feel Maya grab her head which Cathy did not want to make the same mistake as before Cathy would keep her arms away from Maya's grasp and twist to push on Maya's hips with her foot and hips to try to give a little open space to try to get her head free.

Cathy was wise to Maya's attempt, but the redhead wasn't keen to give Cathy an easy counter to her submission attempt. Cathy managed to wedge her foot on Maya's hips to create space preventing her from completing her triangle attempt. Maya would release her grip and back off from Cathy leaving the jungle girl on the canvas. Maya wave her hands up indicating she wanted Cathy to get on her feet. Cathy was a dangerous opponent in the scramble, so Maya wanted to try and get her to strike a little. Perhaps she could get a better opening that way. "You're crafty that's for sure! A lot of people would've been locked in there."

Cathy felt her push successful and managed to wiggle out of Maya's grasp and roll away from Maya. Cathy would catch her breath as she listened to Maya's compliment. Cathy smiled and replied, "why thank you, I can tell you have trained quite a bit yourself. That was a good technique to blind me and to catch me but I have good instincts even if I can't see." Cathy would look Maya up and down as she gets up and see Maya's gesture towards her. Cathy despite being very warn down at this point keeps a smiling face. then shakes her head back and forth and says "Here we gooooooo" in doing so she throws a right hook towards Maya.
