A reward for a hero (For Winner)

Kanari had to force herself not let out a sigh of relief when Sam informed her that she was in deed single. She was a little upset that anyone would think the princely and brave Sam was a bit “much” but that just meant there wouldn't be much competition.

‘What am I thinking?’ Kanari thought to herself, blushing at her on strange fantasies.

The taxi arrived just as Sam was inquiring about Kanari's relationship status.

”Oh, I'm single, always have been,” Kamari said as she climbed into the car and made room for Sam. ”Idol’s aren’t allowed to have boyfriends and I’ve been an idol since middle school so... you know.” she said shyly. She then gave the driver her address and the taxi began moving.

Sam's face would blush with a flustered redness when she heard Kanari had been single so long. She'd nod and look when when the cute brunette explained how that was possible. During her brief contemplation, Arashi would give the driver the address of their destination and the blunette would shake her head to find her bearings and her words.

"Well that's not very fair, Kana-chan. Record companies shouldn't decide your relationship status for you...I think that you could get any guy...or girl for that matter...if you wanted them." Sam would force herself to overcome her embarrassment and make eye contact. She wanted to show her idol that she was supportive in Kanari doing anything she wanted to do.

Roberts would look away before lamenting for a quick moment to herself. "Unlike me. I've still got my work cut out for me, it seems..."

Kanari was taken aback by Sam's spirited words of support. They seemed so... sincere. A giddy smile crept across the idol’s face and she quickly covered her mouth with her hand as she tried to regain her composure.

But then Sam began lamenting and Kanari's heart sunk again. She reached out and grabbed the blue haired girl’s hand. ”Th-that’s not true!” Kanari shouted her voice cracking embarrassingly. ”There are definitely people who love you!” Kanari insisted her blue eyes gazing into Sam's. ”A-and I bet they’re even closer than you think...” Kanari added, heart pounding in her chest.

She had been on stage hundreds of times but this was the most stressful moment of her life!

Sam wasn't normally once to get lost in her own woes. But she did find herself contemplating why it is she hadn't yet found anyone. The petite, blue haired girl's attention and focus would shift when Kanari grabbed hold of her hand. The idol would give her genuine assurance that she was loved and that people were attracted to her. Samantha would blush as Kanari looked into her eyes.

"K-Kana-chan...?" Roberts would say as she paused for just a second before returning Kanari's smile with one of her own. She'd take the singer's hand and hold it tightly before trying to overcome her awestruck trance. She'd try to form words by saying exactly what was in her heart and mind.

"Kana-chan, you said idols couldn't have boyfriends. B-but could they have girlfriends?" The driver must have been getting a kick out of the conversation. It would certainly make for a good story later. But he was kind enough not to ruin the mood. Sam would only hope that the moment would be preserved and that they wouldn't be interrupted. Hopefully, Kana's apartment was still a ways off.

There was an awkward moment as Samantha began to speak but then fell silent. Kanari could feel her blood pulsing through her face as the tension in the car seemed like it was going to tear her in two. After a time, Sam finally spoke. She asked if Idol’s were able to have girlfriends.

Kanari looked away. She could see her grinning face in the reflection of the taxi cab window. It would seem that Sam had taken her hint. Now, Kanari had to carfully plan how she would proceed. The idol turned back, her giddy grin now replaced with a more reserved smile.

”I'm not sure what the exact wording on the contract is...” Kanari said with a shrug. ”But you know,” She continued. ”If I Were to really fall in love, I don’t think I would mind hiding it from my managers, you know?”

The tension between the two adorable, petite passengers was broken, somewhat. With a few warm words from Kanari, Sam found herself able to catch on. She smiled and blushed as her beloved idol looked at her with a smile and suggested hiding a girlfriend from her managers. Samantha would become uncharacteristically shy and avoid eye contact for a brief moment before shaking her head and looking Kana in the eye with conviction.

"You....you'd do that for someone you love...you'd do that ...for me?" Upon finishing her sentence, the bluenette covered her mouth in surprise at what she just suggested. Despite having already bonded with Arashi briefly, and having saved her from a cruel fate, part of her still doubted that Kanari could find herself genuinely interested in plain old Sam. And that doubt was visible in the bluenette's facial expression.
