Honestly Phoebe could not tell you why it took so long to get her booked in a match for LAW, especially after the heated match with Akari Ito where Phoebe respected her after losing, but after that, basically nothing. Weeks without an exciting match started to bore her to no end, with her just waiting for someone she could challenge. Luckily for her, she found that challenge in the daughter of a legendary wrestler in Makie Akamatsu. If there was a hope for her to reinvigorate her LAW career, it would certainly be a surefire win against Makie, hopefully Makie does not bore her as well and goes down in less then five minutes like many others had.

Phoebe was doing some stretches, checking her phone and her gear to make sure she was fully ready for the upcoming match with Makie, this was certain to be her big comeback on a major stage. She needed to make sure LAW remembers her and does not forget to book her again.

After a couple of minutes, the LAW official came to her door, and knocked on it, letting Phoebe know that her match was about to begin. The goth girl let out a smirk before heading out, ready to show LAW again what she can do.

The entrance music began to play as the arena turned a solid black, before Phoebe came out onto the stage, posing with her fist up in the air before sauntering towards the ramp to a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd. She then went over to the steel steps, before walking up them and entering the ring underneath the middle rope. She then headed to her corner as the lights turned to normal and the music stopped.

Now hopefully Makie will enter soon, or else Phoebe will start getting bored.

Thankfully for Phoebe, she wouldn't have to wait long.

The arena lit up to white and red light effects, and Makie came striding into the arena. The audience burst into applause at the sight of this newcomer, and Makie, for her part, eagerly responded to their applause, smiling widely and waving, even moving in close to hi-five a few of them. Fueled by the energy of the crowd, Makie would hop down the ramp towards the ring, enjoying the applause, before rolling under the ropes and leaning against them, raising her arms to the cheers of the audience.

Truth to be told, Makie's career in LAW was still relatively new, and while she had been working hard, she still had yet to rack up any wins. This fact was, admittedly, more than a little disheartening, but hearing the audience cheer for her like this did a lot to encourage her: hopefully, tonight, she would be able to finally rack up a win and reward the fans' confidence in her.

Speaking of the match...Makie took a second to look over her opponent, a willowy, black haired girl in a white and black silk attire, complete with fishnets. She seemed aloof and confident, and admittedly her goth look was pretty cute. Makie remained smiling confidently as she moved to size her up.

"So you're Phoene Duclair, huh?" she said. "Huh, I thought you'd be taller." An ironic statement, given that Phoebe, at close range, was only slightly shorter than Makie. Which was a first, given how often Makie had been paired against taller opponents...

“Haha, your real funny.” Phoebe said with a load of sarcasm in her voice, not liking the jokes that the young Makie was spitting out at her. Honestly, something like that made Phoebe want to deal with her opponent even less. It shortened her respect for Makie.

Phoebe would then attempt to walk up to Makie and slap her right across the face. “If you think I’m a joke, I’ll have you crying and tapping in two minutes or less.” Phoebe would say after the slap before heading to her corner.

And then she waited for the bell to ring.

Makie had only wanted to start things off with some light-hearted, good natured banter. In retrospect, maybe that first comment of hers had been a bit on the mean side, but she had honestly expected Phoebe to reply with an insult of her own. That was, in Makie's experience, more or less how trash talk worked.

Instead, however, to Makie's surprise, Phoebe strode right up to her...and then slapped her hard across the face. Makie's eyes widened in surprise, a red welt visible on her cheek: after a few seconds, though, the shock of the surprise died down and quickly turned to anger. Had the ref not stepped in front of her at that moment, Makie would have rushed at Phoebe and returned the slap with one of her own.

Instead, Makie was forced to head back into her corner, already more than a little steamed. The moment the bell rang, Makie would stride out of her corner and start to circle Phoebe, motioning for a lockup as she glared at the other girl.

Phoebe sneered as Makie had to be kept away from her by the referee. Looks like her plan was up to snuff, as she had managed to get in Makie’s head. Hopefully that would fire her up and make this match exciting, especially once she makes Makie tap out.

Phoebe headed to her corner and checked her gear, leotard was properly on, converses were tied, fishnets properly on. Everything seemed good to go. And then the bell rang.

Phoebe saw Makie come right up to her, looking to engage in a lockup, which Phoebe happily obliged, locking up with Makie. Let’s see who’s better technically.

Phoebe would try to gain the advantage, before attempting to put Makie in a side headlock.

Makie saw Phoebe smirking as she backed away. This simply served to make Makie all the more angry: maybe she had gotten off on the wrong foot with this girl, but all the same, right now she wanted nothing more than to wipe the smirk off that other girl's face.

As the bell rang, Phoebe moved up to lock up with her, meeting her collar and elbow invitation. The lockup didn't last long, however, as Makie soon found herself being snagged in a headlock, her fact squeezed tightly against the side of Phoebe's chest! "Hrrmf!"

Reacting quickly, Makie would grab for Phoebe's wrist with both hands and twist sharply to try to get her head free. If she managed that, then she would immediately try to twist Phoebe's arm behind her back in a chicken wing hammerlock!

Phoebe felt as though she had initial control over Makie, having managed to put her in the side headlock. Her fears might be justified, as Makie might be a boring opponent she could take out rather easily if everything goes according to plan. She smirked as she had her in the side headlock.

“AH!” Phoebe squealed as she felt her arm being grabbed and twisted as Makie somehow managed to get out of the side headlock. Now all of a sudden, she was the one on the backfoot.

Now she was locked in a Chickenwing Hammerlock, and needed to find a way to get out. To do this, Phoebe would attempt to walk backwards and attempt to crush Makie between herself and the ropes.

Makie grinned as she managed to take control nice and early, spinning around behind Phoebe and twisting her arm sharply behind her back as she escaped from her headlock. She still needed to think on what she was going to do next, but for now, she had the aristocratic girl under control...and just to keep her under that control, Makie gave Phoebe's arm another sharp twist.

For a moment, this seemed to be working...that was, until Phoebe suddenly pushed back hard, pushing Makie along with her. Alarmed, Makie was unable to stop and was slammed back-first into the corner post! "AGH!" she gasped, releasing Phoebe as she arched against the corner post, her back flaring with pain.

Phoebe’s plan managed to work as it always does, as she managed to crush Makie in between herself and the corner post. “You dummy should not have tried to out technique me.” Phoebe said very smugly as she backed a couple of steps from Makie.

Then she would come charging at Makie, looking to show off her agility by attempting to hit a corner drop kick right to Makie’s chest. Hopefully that would show her what for.

Makie was left breathing hard as she slumped against the corner post, her back hurting after having been rammed against it. Forcing one eye open, she saw Phoebe backing away from her, taunting ever-so-smugly. The other girl's comments cause her face to redden, despite the pain she was in.

For all that pain, though, Makie was not incapacitated, not by a long shot As Phoebe came charging towards her, Makie would try to slip through the ropes to avoid the drop kick. If she managed that, then, holding the top rope, she would try to swivel her body around and slam her boots into Phoebe's head or midsection from the side, hoping to hit Phoebe with a timely counter attack!
