She locked up with Wyvern for a moment and then put her plan into action. Moving quickly and grabbing around Wyvern's waist the moment she had the chance to, and just like her Wyvern would strike the minute she had a chanfe as well, her hand came up and hit her back with an elbow that hit Kyoko's spine at the same time a knee came up trying to hit her chest, connecting at roughly the same spot from her front that Wyvern's elbow found on her back.

"Aaagggh!" Kyoko screamed, the pain almost making her drop to a knee, feeling her chest and back lock up from the pain and keep her from standing straight up. Despite this her arms somewhat stayed in place and tried to hold on to Wyvern, before Kyoko would attempt to throw a knee into Wyvern's side. It would lack the power of her normal knees but she still hoped that from her position it would keep Wyvern from blocking it and allow her the time to fully grab the challenger's waist and pull her back.

The crushing bite that Wyvern had employed against Kyoko's attempt to grab her was painful indeed, and had dissuaded or fended off many opponents from achieving similar attacks in the past. But the Belly Queen's will far exceeds that of an ordinary wrestler, and she is able to power through, bringing up her knee for a swift counter to prevent Wyvern from further capitalizing before she had secured her grip again. It doesn't do much damage, but from Wyvern's unstead position it's enough to keep her at bay and allow Kyoko to follow through.

As she's slammed to the ground, Wyvern brings her hands up in front of her to guard against the heavy impact. She's able to prevent most of the potential damage from the maneuver, but that's only the first part. The slam is jarring enough that she can't prevent Kyoko from getting a mount and secure the challenger's hips with her legs.

"Devastating. Is your new plan boring me to sleep?"

Despite her blase words, Kyoko can feel the upstart subtly pressing against the limits of the hold, looking for any weakness she could use to break out or slip free.

Big explosive moves would likely get countered by Wyvern, until she weakened her ability to do that she had to stick to the simple things and she knew she had a bit more refinement up close than Wyvern with grappling and techniques. From her position she would press her elbow into Wyvern's face, ignoring her words and grabbing the arm she previously tried to to pull into the armbar and would slowly wrap around it to try and get a different variation.

"No, too easy." Kyoko said. Leaning away and settling herself to the side as she pulled the arm up and locked in a Fujiwara armbar, raising the arm up high and leaning with it until she was extending Wyvern's arm as far up as she could make it go, and trying to go higher. "I want you in pain not sleeping." Kyoko said, waiting to see if Wyvern would try and talk her way through this even if it hurt, watching the ref come to Wyvern and check on her and even ask if she wanted to submit.

"Might as well start singing me a lullaby, then, because this doesn't even-"

Wyvern is caught off guard with the sheer speed at which Kyoko is able to set up and lock in the armbar hold, unable to prevent it despite being on guard against this exact outcome. Her lack of grappling experience once again leaves her at a disadvantage, and allows the champion to secure the vicious and painful submission. The challenger's mouthy response is cut off as her teeth quietly clack shut; even with Kyoko cranking her arm to hyperextension, the Irish wrestler manages to endure without a cry of pain, only a slight gritting of the teeth. She fights back against Kyoko's pull with all of her strength, but the awkward angle means that she's unable to dislodge the champion. The referee sinks to the ground, sticking close to Wyvern for her nearly inevitable tap-out, but this only earns them wordless response unbecoming of their authority. After a minute, though, Wyvern's struggles ultimately cease as it becomes clear that she simply can't break out of the hold.

"So that's it then."

Her voice is calm, almost emotionless, but there's a hint of something behind it. This isn't submission. It's the calm before the storm.

"Don't think this is over."

She reaches her free hand, hovering it over the canvas, but she doesn't tap just yet.

That was the difference between a champion and the challenger, Kyoko knew how to do anything but she found what Wyvern struggled with. She sensed the movements and what Kyoko was doing but the Belly Queen didn't hesitate, there was nothing she needed to think about where Wyvern's body blinked because her mind had to think about the best counter measure for just a moment. A moment was everything in wrestling, the difference between winners and losers. Right now Kyoko was a huge winner, bending that arm as far back as she could go and Wyvern struggled to not scream, but couldn't escape. The pain had to be bad, bad enough that she was bringing her hand up, even though she acted defiant she was still close to tapping out.

"Doesn't have to be, you can keep fighting while I break the arm and then I can beat you up some more. But if you want to act like a sane person yes, that's it." Kyoko said. Her choice of words clearly telling Wyvern it was fine to tap and it truly was, this match had been a great first defense, but Kyoko felt confident Wyvern wasn't going to escape before Kyoko broke her arm.

The camera, zooming in on Wyvern's face to capture the moment of her submission, instead catches only a savage, toothy grin, her eyes hidden by a shock of hair.

"Heh...hehehe...no..."

Wyvern slams her hand into the ground, but only once. It's audible, even feelable to Kyoko as the vibrations from the impact rock through Wyvern's body, but it's not a surrender. The challenger grips tightly at what little purchase the ring's surface allows her, fingertips whitening under the strain. She grits her teeth against he pain of her hand and captive arm, but the defiant rictus of her mouth never wavers, even as Kyoko peels her shoulder back even further to try and force her to tap out.

"You...shouldn't have to do that, my queen." Bitter, mocking sarcasm accompanies the heavy emphasis of Kyoko's title, barely distinguishable from the pained strain distorting her words. "Please. Allow me."

*BANG*

In close battles or difficult fights, pivotal moments often seem to stretch out into eternities, strained senses sharpened so intensely by the conflict that no body can keep up with them. How the two warriors in the ring experience the following instants will be a matter of speculation, known only to the Belly Queen and the Dame of Damnation, but there is no such stretch of time for the crowd. In fact, it takes more than a few moments to figure out what the hell just happened, the arena falling silent in confusion. In one moment, the Belly Queen is utterly dominant, her opponent trapped and her victory inevitable. In the next, the champion is face down on the floor, and it is Wyvern standing tall, free and looming over the Middleweight Champion.

Using her free hand as leverage, Wyvern had rallied every ounce of strength she had, an intense ripple of motion through her body being the only warning Kyoko received before the Demon of Drogheda twisted in a powerful roll, driving the champion face-first into the canvas. Moving with the motion after the initial rush had ended allowed Wyvern to stagger to her feet, a position which would usually have allowed her to follow through with a no-doubt violent and painful continuation. Indeed, she moves to lash out with a ferocious kick, but nearly loses balance in the middle of the attack as her vision swims from a mixture of dehydration and agony. The price she had paid to effect her escape takes a toll, leaving her no chance to launch a renewed offensive.

The brief roar of shock and approval dies in the crowd's throats as they see the consequences of Wyvern's furious breakout. The twisting roll might have been enough to surprise a rank amateur and slip free of the armbar, but Kyoko Akan is a hardened veteran. There is no escaping from one of her properly secured holds intact. Wyvern's arm hangs rigidly by her side, the shoulder pulled down out of its socket and the elbow bent at an unnatural angle.

Grimacing in a rare display of visible pain, the challenger grabs at her forearm with her free hand and pulls, grinding the dislocated limb across bone and shredded cartilage and back into its socket. With only a moment's hesitation, she follows through with her elbow, snapping it back into place with an unpleasant *CRACK* that casts doubt on whether the crude setting had done anything at all to improve her condition.

Panting for air, Wyvern swipes the frothing spittle away from her mouth as she struggles to compose herself. Spite alone allows her to hiss out barely comprehensible words through the pain.

"Come on, bitch. I'm not satisfied yet."

When even Wyvern knew that she had no escape, it was easy to see why Kyoko felt comfortable and confident now. Her first title defense was coming to an end and she had made Wyvern admit defeat. Of course she failed to see the grin on the challenger's face telling the suspenseful audience that Kyoko was way off the mark with her confidence. That only became obvious when Wyvern started talking and even calling Kyoko Queen in a voice that did not sound like someone who was about to surrender. Kyoko began to wonder if Wyvern had truly lost her mind...then she was suddenly eating the mat. "Gggfff!" Kyoko sputtered in complete surprise, Wyvern rolled her body quickly, even though Kyoko's grip was completely on her! She didn't know how Wyvern could sneak her hand through that and her mind started racing to understand it, from their position and from Kyoko's hold that roll should've....And then that's when Kyoko realized what she might've done. She finally pushed herself off the mat, ignoring the pain from the mat burn to look up at Wyvern.

"You didn't...." She asked, already knowing that she did. One look at Wyvern's arm told her the whole story...the crazy bitch actually let her arm snap off just to escape and was looking at her in the eyes as she grabbed it and proceeded to snap it back into place with only a brief acknowledgment of the pain. "What...The...Fuck.." Kyoko breathlessly muttered in shock, putting your arm back in place wasn't pleasant or fun and you only did it when you had to because of a move gone wrong. Wyvern's move was done perfectly, she knew that would happen and she still did it! The Belly Queen didn't know what to think, her challenger was completely crazy!

Wyvern's face cracks apart at Kyoko's disbelieving outburst, stretching into a grotesque facsimile of a smile. She'd long given up on being anything resembling "normal," but the world in general and LAW in particular was filled with many who took pride in their claims of cruelty, masochism, and insanity. Wyvern didn't have much of an attachment to anything like that; she knew what she was. It wasn't a source of pride for her, but neither did it give her any shame. She was as blunt with others in her assessment of her abnormality as she was with herself. She could hardly blame them for being skeptical, all things considered, but still, she'd be lying if it she said it didn't always give her a surge of satisfaction when someone who had dismissed her learned exactly who they were dealing with. More than a few had broken at the realization; Wyvern had come to detest the terror and confusion that often clouded the faces of those who glimpsed past the surface of who she was. Kyoko wasn't afraid, or if she was, it clearly wasn't controlling her. That was good. There was no buzz kill like uncontrolled fear from an opponent Wyvern had been looking forward to. Either way, the Belly Queen would never mistake the Scarmaker for just another wrestler ever again.

"I warned you."

Wyvern takes a steady, heavy stride forward, the hard step sending aching tremors through her body and arm but the extra force necessary to keep herself steady and upright. Her awful not-smile never wavers, cutting a displeasing contrast between the harsh white of her teeth and the pale strands of saliva that stretch between her split lips.

"Hell."

The takes another step forward. Steadied on her feet and adjusted to the molten agony surging through her brain, there's nothing stopping Wyvern from lashing out with a cannon-like teep kick at Kyoko's head, aiming to put the Belly Queen on her back. If the maneuver succeeds, she stalks closer, and drops down to straddle Kyoko in a motion that's half-kneel and half-collapse.

"Beast."

Looming forward, she puts all her weight behind her good arm and leans onto the front of Kyoko's shoulder, just under the collarbone. She seizes at the flesh of the champion's pectoral muscle, gripping so tightly her nails draw blood if the champion isn't able to throw her off in time.

"Carved. Into. Your. Soul."

Every word is punctuated with a jerking burst of movement as she drags her grip lower on Kyoko's chest, tearing five angry, red lines into the champion's skin.

Wyvern was right, Kyoko wasn't afraid. A dislocated arm wasn't new to her and she'd seen people pop them back in, she was even taught how to do it herself and once put her finger back in it's socket after it was nearly twisted off her. She wasn't squeamish or anything like that, what clicked for her in that moment that made her shocked at Wyvern was the realization that the two of them were taught so differently that it stunned the Belly Queen. What Wyvern did was everything Kyoko's brain had been trained and drilled to never do, wrestlers knew they put themselves on the line with every move that they also made sure to train people what limits they had and where to stop. If Wyvern failed her roll through she'd still be stuck in the hold and her arm would break anyway, putting herself through that pain for nothing and Kyoko could finish her. It wouldn't even require Kyoko to stop her either, the move could fail if she hesitated or if the pain made her body stop when her brain finally told her that was enough. So she not only did something insane even for wrestlers...she did it with full confidence and without a moment's hesitation despite the pain she knew was coming. Based on the way she acted afterwards, that wasn't the first time Wyvern tried that trick or something like it....And that thought made Kyoko's instincts observe Wyvern as a maniac for it. Which left Kyoko thinking one thing, what kind of hell did Wyvern go through where she ever thought doing that was necessary?

Her thoughts are finally interrupted by Wyvern taking a few steps towards her, with a look that said she wasn't going to answer any questions from the challenger today. She just rushed her and tried to throw a kick that Kyoko's arms blocked. The force was strong enough to knock Kyoko off balance and send her to the mat, where Wyvern quickly set herself upon her after almost falling over from her rush. Her arm comes down on Kyoko's side and her hand begins to dig into her skin. Clawing at the muscle in her arms like she wanted to pull it out. "Aaahhk!" Kyoko screams trying to free her arm and bring her hand to push Wyvern off her before she gets any further, feeling her nails dig into her skin and increasing the pain.

To Wyvern, the choice to break her arm had been the simplest decision in the world. Her defiance of Kyoko, cutting her off before she could snap the arm herself, was only a small part of it. For the Demon of Drogheda, this had never been about the championship, or even the match. She didn't fight for glory, fame, or recognition; these were just useful tools to get more of what she wanted. And what she wanted was war. A chance to be pushed to her limits, to fight until her body gave out. To her, every match was a fight, and a fight was using every part of you, body, mind, and soul, to crush every part of your opponent. A good fight would end only when one combatant couldn't stand up anymore. And her legs were working just fine.

"He...he...he..."

Wyvern's deranged giggling is quiet, audible only to the middleweight champion and only because her face is mere inches away, each pained gasp from the challenger release another gout of hot, coppery-smelling air into her face. Whether Wyvern has been hiding the true depths of her sadism until now or is simply delirious from the pain, one thing is obvious: if anything, the claims she's made about her ferocity and violence have been understated. With her own outer layers peeled away metaphorically, it seems she now seeks to do the same to Kyoko literally, digging her fingers in deeper with each intermittent burst of effort. Her nails, short and blunt but enough to do the job when backed by her monstrous strength, carve widening furrows into Kyoko's shoulder.

"Doyle! Enough! Back off!"

Once again, Kyoko is granted a reprieve by the interference of the referee against Wyvern's overt violation of the match's rules. He grabs Wyvern's wrist and hauls her arm away from Kyoko. Lost in her fury, Wyvern hisses animalistically and attempts to lash out with her other arm, but is spared outright disqualification as the shattered apprendage is in no shape to do anything beyond hurt. Audibly snapping her teeth shut in agony after the attempt, Wyvern sucks in a breath to attempt to reexert control over her body through the molten waves of torment echoing out from her shoulder and elbow. The assault so arrested, Kyoko is able to easily shove Wyvern off and to the mat, the challenger landing on her back. She almost immediately begins struggling to rise, but the pain finally seems to be taking its toll and slowing her down.
