Camile Dion[D] vs Ivy Aster

If one thing could be said for Camile, it was that her fight or flight response was, for the most part, on point. Fleeing or evading Ivy would likely have resulted in further damage, so the only course of action, she thought, was resistance. And it had paid off. She’d suffered damage, it was true, but now Ivy was in a vulnerable position.

Quickly, Camile would move towards Ivy. She’d tackle the Englishwoman, hopefully driving her from a sitting position into one where she would be on her back. From there, she’d shift to sitting on her opponent’s right shoulder, and grab her arm, before leaning back, hoping to lock in a basic armbar submission.

With Ivy on her ass, Camile was quick to follow up. As frail as she was, Ivy's defensive technique needed to be on point to prevent the Frenchwoman's attack from potentially spiraling out of control. The Englishwoman braced herself and began rolling back as Camile came down on her, softening the blow and allowing Ivy to generate some momentum to swing her legs up behind Camile.

As Camile went after Ivy's arm, Ivy went after Camile's body. getting her legs around the Frenchwoman's hips to keep her from bringing her legs to the purplette's arm and deny her the Armbar. Things were turning into a tangled up scrap on the mat, and while that was better than being put in an Armbar, it still wasn't a position that Ivy was fond of. So she would try to reach her free arm out to Camile's chest and push her away so that she could get some space and get back to her feet.

Ivy was tenacious, Camile conceded that. Rather than let herself be caught in a submission the Englishwoman instead tied the situation up with her legs, resulting in a stalemate.

As the Ivy pushed away, Camile would do the same. Admittedly, the current melee was not one Camile was fond of either. She’d scramble back to her feet, and, not eager to allow her opponent to regain her footing, Camile would rush forwards, into a running dropkick targeting Ivy’s torso. The goal was to keep Ivy, at the very least, disoriented. So far Camile hadn’t put up much of a fight, and she couldn’t let herself go down without one.

Ivy was grateful that Camile seemed similarly minded in that she didn't seem to want a chaotic scrap on the mat, and thus was willing to back off as well. Yet that didn't stop the Frenchwoman from coming straight back in the moment she was back on her feet. Caught somewhat off guard by Camile's aggression, Ivy was only able to haphazardly throw her arms in front of her stomach before Camile's Dropkick landed.

"Guh!" Ivy spat as she tumbled backwards. Some of the Dropkick's force was able to get through Ivy's guard and to her body, which would send the Englishwoman back to the mat. Again calling upon her defensive technique to try to avoid a follow up, Ivy rolled away from Camile with the momentum of her fall, then tried to start running as she stood up so that she could create enough distance to be able to reset.

Ivy wasn’t responding in turn to Camile’s aggression. She’d take note of that. As Ivy fled, Camile would pursue, breaking into a full sprint. There wasn’t really anywhere for Ivy to run, so Camile would catch up.

As soon as she’d get close enough, she’d propel herself into the air, aiming to drive her knees into the small of Ivy’s back, hoping to knock her face first onto the floor. If she succeeded, she’d quickly return to her feet, before dropping back down to Ivy’s level with double knee drop to the same previously struck spot.

Though Ivy was moving away from Camile, she would never be so foolish as to turn her back to her opponent in such a manner. So even though the Frenchwoman quickly closed the gap with a sprint, Ivy was ready to respond when she saw Camile take off into the air. She immediately hit the deck, rolling underneath the flying Frenchwoman and watching her fly on past.

Watching wouldn't be the only thing Ivy did however, as once Camile was past. the purplette would shoot her leg up, looking to catch Camile in her lower back while she was still airborne. Assuming it hit, it would rob Camile of all her aerial control, and most likely send her crashing into the corner post. Ivy would then try to follow that up with a Dropkick into the brunette's back.

Camile had braced for impact in the knees, not the back. As she gained altitude, and Ivy dropped, she realized her mistake in pressing the advantage as she did.

”Oh no…”

Camile winced as Ivy’s legs dug into her back, launching her off-course. She hardly had time to raise her hands before she slammed into the corner chest-first, crumpling to a whimpering heap on the mat. She’d roll around a bit, cradling her hurting back and chest, hoping futilely for some respite. That respite didn’t come. Ivy crashed violently into her, and Camile shrieked, her already damaged lower back being struck, repeatedly. She was in an awful position. But she couldn’t go out like this. Not in her debut match. Shakily, she’d try to pull herself up, but would be vulnerable nonetheless

While Ivy and Camile both seemed to share the archetype of frail high-fliers, it would seem that the Frenchwoman had yet to have the desires of hyper aggression and recklessness that came naturally to those who soared through the air beaten out of her yet. For while taking to the skies opened many avenues from which one could attack their opponent, it also left themselves open to numerous more forms of attack from the opponent.

Ivy thanked her advantage in experience as she drove her legs into Camile's back, driving her once more into the corner ring post. But Camile would be there much longer as Ivy got up behind the brunette and wrapped her arms around the Frenchwoman's body, and then would attempt to German Suplex her back out of the corner so that she wouldn't have easy access to the ropes for a break.

Ivy wanted that because she had a pin attempt coming up next for Camile. But the Englishwoman wouldn't just hold her opponent down in the simple post-German Suplex pin position, not when her mentor had taught her all the ways in which you could more effectively try to finish the job. Ivy would push off into the air with her legs, pulling herself forward with her upper body, flipping over Camile and landing on her knees just above the Frenchwoman's head. Ivy would then try to hold Camile's legs in place with her arms and slide her crotch up onto the Frenchwoman's face to finish her off with a Reverse Matchbook Facesit Pin.

At this point, if anyone was left in the crowd doubting that Camile was on the back foot, they’d have that notion rapidly beaten out of them. Figuratively. For Camile herself it was much more literal. The Frenchwoman groaned softly, grabbing onto the ropes to pull herself up, only to be driven back into the ground by Ivy. She screamed, clutching her back, the site of at least three impacts by this point.

She was yanked away as Ivy wrapped her arms around Camile. She quickly realized what was happening as Ivy lifted her up, flailing and pushing at her opponent’s arms desperately. It wasn’t enough, though, and in moments Camile found herself arcing through the air in a suplex. She let out a soft whimper as her head hit the ground, arms flopping to the sides as Ivy went for a pin.

Ivy saddled up and grabbed Camile’s legs, initiating a pin. The referee dropped down next to her, beginning the count.

”ONE!”

Camile was hurting, it was true. But she wouldn’t let herself go out so quickly in her first public appearance in LAW. So as the referee went for the second count, she would muster all the strength she could, and, with a defiant cry, try to kick out.

Ivy wasn't convinced that this pin would keep Camile down for the count, but the Englishwoman was riding a hot streak and held enough of an advantage that she felt it was at least worth an attempt. Especially so, considering the quality of the pin which she was able to secure. Even if the Frenchwoman could escape Ivy's Reverse Matchbook Facesit Pin, it would certainly force her to expend a valuable burst of stamina to do so.

Camile would expend that burst of energy to escape, and to great affect at that. Just as the ref called two, Camile's leg slid to the side and out from underneath Ivy's hand, kicked up, and caught the purplette right underneath her chin. "Gah!" Ivy hissed as she was sent sprawling onto her back. Then Camile's momentum rolled the Frenchwoman forward, causing her to land butt first onto the Englishwoman's stomach. "Oof!" Ivy spat as now she was the one stuck underneath her opponent.
