Midnight and the Angel - Karen Meadows vs Megumi Mutoh

Karen wasnt doing much to get up at the moment, mostly because any movement caused her back to ache every which way. Though she didnt want to say she was out of this match just yet as she was still determined to take control back even as she was lifted up to her feet on her shaky legs and struck with a forearm that caught her across the face. Rattling her jaw.

Karen felt a bit dazed from the first punch and it didnt get any easier after that, as she was then nailed with an uppercut to the jaw that shot her head upwards. "Puuuogh!" Karen spat out as she stayed on her feet but her position was hardly anything resembling one someone would stand for a fight. And to amke matters worse Megumi was close enough to try something else after that.

Right after landing the forearm and the uppercut, Megumi saw Karen still standing but in a bad shape. Seeing this as her opportunity to strike her down, the former Wrestle Angel would step back, giving herself a little distance between her and Karen before spinning around to deliver a rolling savate kick right into Karen's chest, hoping to send her crashing down into the mat back first.

After that, Megumi planned to get herself on top of Karen, going for a cover, as the referee would count for the pinfall attempt next to them.

"ONE!"

As the punches wore her down Karen did her best to stay on her feet, trying to find some counter to reverse this before she was suddenly stopped in her tracks by another kick, a big one that was planted firmly in her chest and sending her back to the floor. Her coughing getting more and more erratic as she laid there for the pin. Karen felt the girl come down on her for the pin as well with the ref wasting no time for the count as Karen tried to get herself together.

"TWO!"

Karen felt something flare up inside her, maybe it was her second wind, or just a desperate desire not to lose but either way she felt the sudden jot of power to push her arm forward and get her shoulder up kicking out before the pin can finish and saving this matchup at least for now.

With Karen kicking out, Megumi decided that she needed to whip out some big move before she could finish her off. Getting up, she would grab Karen by her head to get her on her hands and knees. Then, she would bring her head between her thighs, going for a standing headscissor before she reached down to pull her up, getting her in an upside down position.

She was setting Karen up to be driven head first into the mat with a cradle piledriver. She was hoping that the black-haired woman would not be able to get herself out of her predicament and turn things around in her favor.

Karen was currently doing everything she could to just survive this match as she was pulled up once more despite very much needing some kind of break. Though instead of lying down and being a punching bag for Megumi as she tried to pull her in for a piledriver on some kind before she is pulled upwards for the finish. A finish Karen tries to stop.

Kicking her legs and trying to force her way back down Karen struggles in the hold as she tries to grab her legs and press against them looking to send her opponent down to the floor so Karen can roll through and go for a quick pin of her own.

Before she could properly set Karen up to be piledriven into the mat, Megumi suddenly lost her balance as Karen struggled in the hold. She fell backwards, hitting the canvas with her back, which Karen quickly capitalize on as she quickly went for a quick pin of her own. "Aaah!!" Megumi yelped when she was rolled up by her opponent, and the referee started counting for the pin.

"ONE!"

Grunting, Megumi kicked out before two and quickly got Karen off of her. Still, thanks to this, she had lost a bit of her focus, making it difficult for her to keep her momentum as well as her offense.

Though Karen hoped the surprise of it would net some fruit and secure the pin for her she wasnt necessarily holding her breath. In fact once she kicked out of it shortly after one Karen was simply trying to push up to her feet looking at her opponent and waiting for her to try and come back up. Once she saw her she would try and go for the ropes jumping off them for a beautiful disaster kick she was hoping would connect with the girls jaw.

If that move hit Karen would move up t her feet a second time and try to grab her opponents leg. Megumi clearly had some fight left in her so Karen was hoping to wind that down a notch or two by lifting the leg up and twisting it with a corkscrew.

Getting up, Megumi was unable to see Karen going for the ropes before she came to her with a jumping kick to her jaw. "Muooghh!!" Her head recoiled to the side before she crumpled down onto the mat, clutching on her hurt jaw. With Megumi downed, Karen took this opportunity to grab her by her leg, twisting it, causing intense pain around her leg joints.

"Maaaarghhh!!" She cried out in pain, eyes widening. She would try to endure the pain for a while before attempting to twist herself back to lessen the pressure from the hold. Hopefully, she could escape the hold right after that.

"Your tough...but I'm not losing this match..Megumi.." Karen said shortly after knocking her down with the kick. Then she began targeting the girls leg, attempting to make sure she didnt have the ability to use it and hope for the best afterwards. Though Megumi still wasnt giving up, trying to twist herself and free herself from the hold as Karen tried to keep a grip on her leg. Both were determined to succeed.

Regardless something had to give and for now Karen was hopeful that it was the Wrestle Angel alumi's ankle. After a few seconds she felt her grip slip from Megumi's movements and backed off as she felt the hold give way smacking the mat as she tried to think of something else to do to put her down. She thought about trying to go for something big but she wasnt sure the Genius would stay down for it.

Megumi managed to escape the hold, but her ankle ached after enduring the twisting, and she grunted when she got back on her feet. She stumbled on her feet, unable to stand properly. Still, this was nothing compared to the most hardcore matches that she had fought in prior to this. Closing one eye shut, she looked at Karen as she favored one foot to stand on. She needed to end this match quickly and get her foot checked.

With a roar, Megumi would launch herself forward, looking to deliver a forearm smash right into the side of Karen's neck. This time, she was favoring the brutal approach of strong style, looking to hit at the same spot repeatedly, eyes going manic as she went on.
