Toshiko Ito vs Grace Kenning

Toshiko Ito lined up Grace for another knee drop. She had suspicions that Kazuko had gotten involved, but... she wasn't sure. Should she keep following up on this offense? Should she allow Kenning the opportunity to recover now? She was very much uncertain, and had her face not been hidden behind a mask, it would be even more apparent. But the Twilight Edge did something she normally didn't do: she hesitated. Pausing before following up on her attack.

And she landed her knee directly onto the mat. "Ah!" cried out Ito as she held her knee, looking at Grace angrily. She took a couple deep breaths before scrambling to her and grabbing her by the head. It was then that Toshiko would attempt to send forearm strikes repeatedly at Grace's head. Angry, frustrated, and upset, Ito didn't know what was happening in this match, but the sudden dodge from Grace Kenning was enough to set her off and make her come at her with a flurry of simple offense, just looking to vent some anger at this point!

Disaster was avoided when Grace moved away from the knee that would've crushed her head, avoiding a painful knee that could've ended the match. She couldn't let herself be beaten after being attacked like that, or the two might convince themselves that it was working. But dodging one move earned her the anger of the one she was trying to help, whose temper was too short. Grace got up and was quickly attacked by an angry set of forearms aiming to knock her back down, which she could only try to defend against by putting her arms up and defending herself.

"Gggh.." Grace groaned stepping back even when she blocked the forearms, struggling to remain stable while she was still recovering. Thankfully she was pretty strong, but so was Toshiko and she might've broken her guard if her strikes were more focused. Instead Toshiko's anger was costing her the deadly precision she was known for, and it was only thanks to her power that her slightly sloppy forearms were still a big threat. Grace looked for an opening and would try to throw a punch right under Toshiko, trying to move her head out of the way and punch her as she moved in to stop those forearms from continuing.

Toshiko Ito found herself increasingly more frustrated as this match went on. A simple fight against Grace Kenning turned into an exercise in annoyance to her, as she launched into a vicious and reckless attack on her opponent after the failed knee drop. She still had impeccable form in her forearm strikes--she was trained in being able to do so. But the attacks were certainly not as measured and accurate as she tried to make them. She just wanted to unload frustration onto Kenning.

And she had done quite a good job of that, even though Grace was able to block many of her strikes as well. So long as Ito hit enough, she considered it a success. It took one really good hit to do a lot of damage. But as the Twilight Edge went for another attack, Kenning had suddenly dodged it entirely and punched her in the face! "Ahn!" cried out Toshiko in surprise, falling back onto the mat and off of Grace Kenning as she held her face in pain. She was momentarily stunned from the hit, not expecting it.

Grace didn't look when she aimed at Toshiko, she had to move and protect her face from Toshiko's strikes and only felt the contact when her knuckles slammed into Toshiko's cheek and chin. The force was enough to make Grace wince and thank the gloves she was wearing for making that kind of contact possible, before turning towards her assassin to move in and continue attacking. Toshiko's endurance wouldn't give her much time to enjoy her being down, she would get over the pain quickly and get right back up to fight Grace again with a nastier attitude for Grace fighting back, this moment had to be followed up or Grace would pay for it.

While Toshiko couldn't see her, Grace would take a few steps back and then fall back into a sprint to use the ropes and come back at her. Hoping to be running back at her and in the air before Toshiko caught on to what she was doing and was coming down with her legs to stomp down on Toshiko's chest. She put everything behind it to flatten Toshiko, needing this and more to finally slow her down.

Toshiko was grunting and groaning on the mat as she held her face, in pain from that strike. She was on her back, gritting her teeth behind her mask, becoming more and more angry at the situation as the pain on her increased. She wanted to get this match done and over with now, and she'd do what she needed to in order to come back and put Grace on the mat before she took another attack.

She sat up slowly, only realizing that Grace was running right at her at the last moment before the boot collided with her chest and squashed her straight into the mat! Her body sprung out on impact with the mat and Toshiko held her chest, rolling onto her front as she gasped loudly from the painful stomp! She used one hand to smack the mat as she tried to deal with the pain, groaning loudly.

And possibly even more painful than that stop were the words that came out after. "You're literally letting this girl walk on top of you! Just like everyone else has your entire pathetic life, Toshiko!" shouted Kazuko Ito from the sidelines, garnering even a surprised look from Mikasa, who held up her hands as if to exclude herself from that insult. It was fortunate that Toshiko was face down on the mat, because her expression would betray how much the words hurt.

Grace brought her boots down on Toshiko's chest, wincing herself when she saw it connected because she knew how much it was going to hurt. It was her best chance to come back after being on the short end for most of the early match, and Grace held some pity for Toshiko even if she knew Toshiko would be angry about that. That pity made Grace feel anger when she heard those words about her, Toshiko was fighting her and her comrades were tearing her down. Grace could see what this tactic was about, breaking her down anytime she was struggling and trying to break her so she did what they wanted.

"We're having a match, she doesn't need you to do anything and she's more than enough by herself!" Grace said shouting back at Mikasa while she grabbed Toshiko's leg. Even in her defense she couldn't give Toshiko any time to recover, slowly trying to bend the leg and stretch it out, fall back as she locked in a leg lock to extend it.

Toshiko Ito was stunned on the mat, grimacing from the verbal lashing she was received from her half-sister on ringside. A double pain in the chest, from that stomp and her wounded heart. And Grace Kenning, ever the bleeding heart sought to stick up for Toshiko, who was more than aggressively trying to brutalize her in this ring. Another wound in her pride... and yet, there was a part of the Twilight Edge that was grateful.

But she couldn't ponder that for too long, because a leg lock was being applied. Ito let out a cry of pain, holding her leg. She used her free leg to try prying Kenning away to no avail. She slammed a fist on the mat, crying out louder as the time went on. She needed her leg healthy and Kenning wasn't letting go.

But Kazuko Ito would get on the apron where Grace would be facing, staring directly at her as she tucked her mask down, pointing at her aggressively. "More than enough by herself!? She's screaming now because some weak, untalented hog is bending her leg! Were Misaka or I in this match, you wouldn't stand a chance! It would be over in a minute! Toshiko is weak! Weak in spirit, and she always has been!" shouted Kazuko, glaring angrily at Grace Kenning. She wanted that girl's attention on her entirely now, and she wanted to hit a nerve with her too!

There was a strange disconnect that only made sense in wrestling to praise an opponent from critics right before you went back to hurting them. Grace understood it fine, she respected Toshiko's power and knew exactly what she could do in the ring and it was because of that knowledge that she refused to stop attacking her lest she be the one screaming in pain from Toshiko shattering the bones in her body. She watched the assassin pound the mat in frustration for a moment and tried to up the pressure until she saw Kazuko come into frame, pulling her mask down to make sure Grace heard every single word of her nonsense. Grace stared back at her and face looked angrier and angrier with each second by the end she was disgusted with every word.

"Had it been you or Misaka in this match I wouldn't have a bruise on me! I already felt your weak hits when you went for the cheap shot and it didn't do anything! Toshiko has already beaten me once it's me who has something to prove!" Grace would add, mocking Kazuko for her sneak attack from earlier. She couldn't understand why these two were 'helping' her if they thought so little of her and she so wanted to end this match and start fighting them instead, but she knew Toshiko still deserved this match and she wanted to give her a fair fight no matter what. Increasing the pressure on her hold while watching Kazuko for any sings she was playing another trick.

Kazuko Ito's nostrils flared as she listened to Grace. "You're only proving your foolishness, and your pathetic sense of importance that beating Toshiko is any accomplishment worth bragging about!" exclaimed Kazuko. "And you have the gall to talk to me like that!" The elder Ito would then duck into the ring, looking like she was about to approach Kenning, but the referee went into position. Being stopped by the ref, Kazuko pointed around her and yelled, "You're lucky this referee is here or your head would be knocked clear off!"

Toshiko was now groaning heavily in pain as she tried to pull herself towards the rope slowly, but her leg was being more and more hurt. But with the referee's back turned, Mikasa Takeuchi was rushing into the ring now. Her red hair bounced as she got in front of Grace and grinned. "Excuse me," she said plainly before poking Grace in the eye. Then, she would grab hold of the bigger girl and attempt to lift her up with a grunt in a suplex before turning! Then, she would attempt to nail a Falcon Arrow on Kenning, hoping to take the advantage to break the hold and force a lot of pain onto her stable mate's opponent! If successful, Mikasa would then roll right back out of the ring before the referee could catch on!

Grace had enough of Kazuko's insults, even if they weren't directed at her. She was downplaying everything Toshiko was capable of ignoring that before this girl even showed up Toshiko was kicking ass and fighting in the Apex series and if she had won the Openweight championship Grace knew she'd be a serious threat. "It is, I don't need someone who takes cheap shots to agree to bring that up." Grace said watching the ref stop her from getting closer. Grace heard something else and turned to see Mikasa close by and bringing her fingers out to jam them into her eyes, realizing now that Kazuko was the distraction right before it was pulled off.

"Aaggh!" Grace screamed. The pain in her eyes from the poke made Grace reach for her face and halt her submission, freezing up until Mikasa grabbed her and pulled her up and in the air. Kazuko kept the ref looking away long enough for Grace to be lifted and brought down with a Falcon arrow by her partner. "Guuuggh!" Grace screamed, eyes still closed and her body stretched out to deal with the pain of the suplex, she didn't see Mikasa leave and now she felt blinded while Toshiko was free and the other two were up to who knows what.
