Lauren Fredericks vs. Megumi Mutoh: Shot At Redemption!

Lauren was dressed and in the locker room, jumping in place. She had lost a match or two.... or four and she had to right the ship! She was up against a highly touted wrestler in Megumi Mutoh, a known top talent middleweight and solid favorite against Lauren.

Taking a deep breath, she left the locker room and strut confidently through the halls towards the arena. This was going to be her night, or so she told herself as she continued towards the ramp. As her music played she came out, holding her fists in the air, walking with more gusto than usual. Her few loyal bit loud fans cheered, liking the story of the small time wrestler waitress finally making it to the big time.

Others politely applauded as Lauren came out, and a number booed enrolled their eyes as she wasn't the most fit and her record was sub-par at best. Lauren climbed into the ring, standing in the center of the ring with her hands on her hips, a stern look on her face.

Another night for Megumi Mutoh, another match that she needed to fight in. Clad in her one-piece wrestling outfit, Megumi waited for her cue to show up. For the night, she would be pitted against Lauren Fredericks, a wrestler with moderate success in this promotion. Whoever she was, she wanted to see if she really had what it takes to face the Genius Mutoh.

When it's her turn to enter, Megumi made her entrance as her music, Golden Nocturne, was played. Unlike Lauren, she was greeted by a large number of fans, being a high-profiled wrestler from a prestigious wrestling promotion. Ever the gracious one, as she walked down the ramp, she would high-five some of the fans. She might be a little distant, but she knew that there were people who were supporting her.

Right after that, she arrived at the ring. She climbed up the apron before entering, going to a corner to get some reactions from the crowd some more. And then, she looked at her opponent, a woman bigger than her, but she had faced bigger women before back in Wrestle Angels.

She had faced Grizzly Yamamoto and Dark Star Chaos before, so she believed that she could take her opponent on.

Crossing her arms under her chest, Megumi looked at Lauren before she asked, "Do you think you're ready for me?" She sounded quite sure of herself, though she didn't mean anything malicious about it. After all, besides her prodigious skill in wrestling, Megumi was also known for being quite insensitive and blunt at times.

Lauren watched as Megumi came down, clearly the crowd favorite. Lauren kept a focused stare on the woman, noting her body language when she entered the ring. She was not threatened at all by Lauren.

"I am. I will show you and everyone else that I'm not some jobber pushover when I beat you." Lauren answered back as the bell rang. Lauren didn't waste any time after that, rushing right at Megumi and extending her arm, trying to crash into her with a running clothesline!

The bell rang, and the match began. Rather than closing in to tie up with her, Lauren quickly went for a clothesline, running towards Megumi and hitting her across her chest with her arm. That caught Megumi off-guard a little, and she grunted when she was sent crashing down back first into the mat after taking the clothesline.

Having no time to fully regain her bearing, Megumi would quickly try to get back up with a kip up, getting back on her feet in a fluid motion. She would then turn around to look at the direction of Lauren to see her next action. This time, she would be more prepared than before.

Lauren knew she knocked Megumi down hard, but she got herself right back up! Shaking her head Lauren grit her teeth and again made a move at Megumi, this time trying to tie up in a grapple with the smaller woman!

Right after getting herself back up with a kip up, Megumi looked at Lauren who went towards her for a lock up. Smiling confidently, the Wrestle Angel would close in, locking up with the bigger woman for a tie up. Her boots would skid over the canvas as she would try to get an even footing to give herself enough leverage over her opponent.

As the two of them were locked up, Megumi was looking to weaken her opponent by trying to drive her knee right into her belly. Hopefully, the strike to her abs would stun Lauren for a bit for Megumi to go for a much bigger move.

Lauren tried to overpower Megumi, her efforts falling short as a knee strike took the wind out of her sails! She slumped to a knee, clearly hurting from the blow!

Lauren was down, and wide open for whatever it was Megumi wanted to throw her way!

Seeing Lauren slumping on one knee, Megumi was planning to keep up with her momentum. Standing over her, she would clutch both her hands and raise them above her head. And then, she would bring them down as she would then drop herself into a sitout position.

She was planning to smash bot her clutched hands into Lauren's back with a sitout double axe handle, looking to weaken her some more.

Lauren saw Megumi doing something, and felt the sharp pain as the double axe handle strike came crashing down on her back! "Argh! Oomph!" Lauren groaned as she landed hard on the mat, laying on her stomach. Lauren was off to a bit of a rough start but she knew she could salvage this, she had to salvage this. Lauren grit her teeth, trying to push herself up to a kneeling position. She hoped Megumi was still sitting or kneeling in front of her. She had to show everyone that she wasn't a jobber....

...even if that is what 90% of the fans and just that high a percentage of the LAW bosses seemed to view her as. With a loud scream she reared her fist back while glaring at Megumi, as much a fan favorite as Lauren was a dismissed underdog. "I am not a jobber!" She shouted, trying to lean forward and plant Megumi with a forearm smash to the chest!

Sometimes, Megumi wasn't above showing off, thinking of doing cool moves while in the ring. She always wanted to use this move for quite a while, though immediately going for a sitout position left her butt a little sore. As she remained in this position, Lauren had already gotten up after taking the double axe handle.

As Megumi tried to recover, she suddenly took a forearm smash to her chest from Lauren, and she gasped and winced. "Guuhh!!" Bringing one hand to her chest, she would use her other hand to smash her forearm into Lauren's chest. She was a little rattled from the hit, which might cause her attack to be a bit weaker.
