Mashu Kyrielight vs Yunaka Rubi - Strongest of the Lioness

Mashu was never really sure if Yunaka's attack was really just a feint but she had a inkling of a feeling that it was. Normally it's not the greatest idea to rely on your gut feeling but it really seemed to work out. Of course the interception attack wasn't going to be enough to take someone like Yunaka down for long.

It looks like that Yunaka was also surprised by her courage to take such a risk like that. She knows that Yunaka has to be joking about 'running a conspiracy' but still it shows of how surprised she was at Mashu's actions..at least she THINKS that she's joking? Honestly she hasn't run into anyone that jokes very often so it's a little hard for her to tell sometimes "U-Um, I'm not running some conspiracy. I'm pretty sure that'd be cheating. I've been fighting for years if you want a more serious answer to your question so...I guess you can say I've seen enough to have 'guts of iron and nerves of steel'." She gives her a serious answer to make sure that Yunaka wasn't joking. Oh right, Mashu realized that she's been casually approaching her this whole time like she wasn't just fighting a second ago, since this IS still a match she's sure that she should still try to attack especially since that she's getting closer. Mashu would go on to flash a solid kick to Yunaka's gut to lower her upper body so she goes on ahead to grab her and preform a DDT on her. Of course this is without fully realizing what Yunaka's attack was/is going to be so there's pretty much two outcomes in this exchange, either Mashu is fast enough to catch Yunaka with her kick before she realizes it to get hit by the DDT or Yunaka goes with her offensive strategy and dropped low right before Mashu could hit her with that kick to duck under it.

Yunaka was pleased as Mashu seemed more concerned with trying to respond to the redhead's words rather than her approach. Yunaka did find what the pinkette said as a bit... weird, but she was more than used to fighting through distracting things that might make others hesitate. Mashu did eventually realize that Yunaka was in range, but it was too late. A bit of luck went the redhead's way, as the Fairy Knight's attack happened to be a kick that was high enough to be low-profiled by the sweep that Yunaka was already going for, allowing her to take out Mashu's other leg and put the pinkette on her back.

Yunaka beamed at her success as she grabbed Mashu's legs, but also had a more calculating smile internally, as her opponent hadn't even seemed to register that Yunaka had basically just gone for a sneak attack. Meaning that there was a decent chance that she would fall for a similar tactic in the future. Yunaka wouldn't go so far as to cheat, but she respected Mashu's talent as a fighter enough to pull out whatever trick within the rules that it would take to win.

Yunaka would twist Mashu's legs around her own before also dropping down to her back, trying to lock her opponent into a Figure Four Leglock. "Um, I was joking, by the way," she'd say once she had secured her hold. "I mean, if you actually had a nervous system made of steel, I'm pretty sure you'd legally qualify at least as a cyborg. Maybe you'd be like some half-robot superhero instead of being in a wrestling ring!"

Mashu wasn't all that distracted but still Yunaka's method of attack worked as she was unlucky enough to have her kick miss under Yunaka who managed to take out her other leg and make her go down on her back. Also she gets into a Figure Four Leglock which definitely isn't good. "T-That wasn't what I thought you were joking about b-but regardless, I can see how that would be cool." Of course while she's talking she tries to turn things around...somewhat literally as she's trying to her whole body and thus Yunaka's body along with it so that Mashu would put pressure on Yunaka's legs instead by getting her in a Reverse Figure Four Leglock

This was the second time in Yunaka's wrestling career that she had locked somebody in a Figure Four Leglock, but aside from the move itself being the same, the situation couldn't be much more different. The first time around, Yunaka had been in total control of the match, and had allowed her opponent to reverse so that she could immediately pull off a flashy re-reversal. That was something that the redhead wouldn't even consider doing with Mashu as the one locked in.

There was also the question of whether or not Yunaka would even have a choice, as staying on her back wasn't the easiest of feats. Mashu was pulling hard as she tried to turn their bodies over, and Yunaka was far from a strength based wrestler. As she felt the pinkette's pull growing ever more intense, the redhead decided that she needed to shift gears.

Yunaka would release the Figure Four Leglock on her own before Mashu could reverse it, her intention being to slip her leg out from between the knight's own legs before she could realize what the redhead was doing. Mashu should then roll herself onto her stomach with nothing pulling against her if this worked how Yunaka had calculated. From there, the spunky rookie would shoot her arms forwards to try to grab one of Mashu's feet and pop up to her own feet, where she would then but the Fairy Grail Knight into an Ankle Lock submission hold. "If you manage to flip me over out of this one, I'm gonna be in some real trouble then," the redhead would quip if her plan succeeded.

This would be Mashu's first time...well in an official match anyways, to get locked in a Figure Four Leglock and try to reverse it to put it on to her opponent instead. While she as well isn't a strength-based wrestler like her opponent, she DOES have the strength to be able to pull something like this off. However it would come crashing down as Yunaka let go of the Figure Four Leglock on purpose before Mashu could reverse it and go to put her into an Ankle Lock submission hold. She grits her teeth as she knows that flipping her over out of this move would be impossible-er not impossible but definitely be hard to do without being really strong. Although she does have another idea that doesn't require her to brute force an escape like that. Mashu would turn herself to more towards her side to twist her foot into a more comfortable and less hurtful position so Yunaka couldn't do damage as well on it and then Mashu would use her other foot to slam right to the redhead's gut multiple times to try to force her to let go

The Ankle Lock was a pretty basic and simple move, one of the first submissions Yunaka had learned upon her decision to become a wrestler. It was something that the redhead thought she had down pretty well for her relative inexperience with proper technique compared to simple street-style brawling. Yunaka knew to keep an eye on the opponent and pull them back to the center if they got too close to the ropes. She knew to position herself on the same side of the opponent's body as the trapped leg so that they couldn't fling their free leg back and catch you.

What Yunaka did not know however, was what to do in the event that her opponent flipped themselves over almost onto their back to the point that they're free leg was definitely in kicking distance. And gosh darn it that was exactly what Mashu did. "Woah, hey, woah!" Yunaka yelped as she tried to dance around Mashu's kicks while maintaining her hold. But she soon ended up letting the pinkette all the way onto her back, effectively killing any pressure that she was putting on her ankle.

Without an idea on how to salvage this position that wasn't obscenely risky, Yunaka released Mashu's footed and darted backwards out of range of Mashu's legs. The knight would be on her back, put with a pretty safe path back to her feet on account of Yunaka not being in a position to press. Assuming Mashu didn't do anything careless, the position of the match would be reset to neutral once she was back on her feet.

Whether Mashu is good at thinking on the fly during a fight or not is debatable. Regardless though, Mashu's idea on how to get out of an Ankle Lock was successful as it seemed like Yunaka couldn't kept dancing around her kicks while also maintaining the pressure on her leg and thus would be forced to let go. As Yunaka backed off, Mashu had fully expected another plan of attack immediately after that so Mashu would be prepared for it as she got up as quick as possible by rolling back and getting to her feet. Funny enough, she didn't need to be defensive as Yunaka seemed to have had the same idea. "I had expected for you to attack me as soon as you let go of me, I'm guessing you thought it would be risky" Of course she's ready in case Yunaka decides to attack while they're having a conversation which she thought would be more than likely.

"Yeah, it's pretty hard to attack when you're also having to back off at the same time," Yunaka said. "Coulda went for something, but I don't think there was enough advantage to be worth pressing." The redhead internally acknowledged the skill with which Mashu got up; snapping up to get her feet underneath her quickly, keeping her guard raised as she did so.

Yunaka could tell that Mashu was on high alert, so trying to go for some type of sneak attack wasn't the play here. In fact, the Fairy Grail Knight looked ready to stifle any attack that the redhead could have come at her with. So Yunaka relaxed and stretched her arms up over her head, puffing her chest out in the process. "Man, I've been running in on you all match," Yunaka said with an eye still keeping watch on Mashu, her guard not nearly as far down as her stance may suggest. "Howsabout you come at me this time around?" Yunaka then dropped back down into a proper stance, now looking as ready to defend herself as she was.

Mashu hummed in thought, sort of on Yunaka's affirmation on her guess and now on how to best proceed on the offensive. She knew that Yunaka's guard was up even though it may looked relaxed before getting into a proper stance. It only took Mashu a second to come up with something, though being on the offensive at all can most certainly be risky due to the numerous ways a move could be countered, she can definitely try to minimize how risky said offensive play is. Taking up on Yunaka's offer to be on the offensive this time, obviously, she runs towards her with her forearm outstretched for a clothesline. If Mashu is correct and that Yunaka would simply duck to avoid the attack, she would then continue to run and bounce off of the ropes to continue on her momentum and then do a dropkick right on Yunaka's back...or body depending if she's fast enough to turn around

Despite Yunaka taking on a less than proper stance as she invited Mashu to attack, the Fairy Knight was wisely distrusting of the redhead's lackadaisical attitude, waiting until Yunaka was more obviously prepared to go on her attack. Her eyes tracked Mashu as she closed in, as she raised her arm to try to clock Yunaka across the face and send her flying.

Of course, Yunaka wouldn't just let this happen. She ducked underneath Mashu's outstretched arm as the pinkette expected, but what the knight wasn't planning on was Yunaka's foot. As her head went down, she swung her foot up, looking to clock Mashu square in the jaw with a Scorpion Kick as she ran past that would give the pinkette some solid hangtime before she fell down onto her back.

If Yunaka's counter connected, then she would dig back into her arsenal of killer moves. With Mashu on her back and her head close the redhead, her choice of move was rather obvious. Yunaka would drop down to the mat and attempt to wrap her legs around Mashu's throat to lock in a Figure Four Headscissors. "You better tap out quick, or You're Dead," Yunaka's voice dropped all the cheer and replaced it with chill as she announced the name of her move. "Ha ha! Just kidding! But I will send you to nap time if you make me."
