Beatriz is a sweet girl, if unsure of herself. Insecurities borne of a lack of attention; being the middle child with five other siblings, she had a hard time being noticed both in and outside of the home. Her brothers and sisters always had something that made them stand out over her: One sister was that beauty queen who had an unending line of suitors, her eldest brother was the smartest, her youngest sister was a troublemaker who kept their parents busy, her second oldest brother was the sports wiz, etc. It would be one of the leading contributing factors to her pursuing a career in lucha libre, and through that pursuit, the birth of the Bella Pirata persona.
Bella Pirata is meant to be a lovable rogue. Sexy, confident, quick on her feet, and possessing that certain It factor that makes her impossible to ignore and hard to hate, even as she uses underhanded tactics to get one over on you in a match.

Spoiler
Beatriz Yvonne Murillo Gutierrez was born into a family that has connections to professional wrestling both as a genuine combat sport as well as its staged form. Her parents hadn't had any deep involvement in either business themselves, however, her mother having had a popular, but brief stint as the masked sexfight-focused jobber La Juguete while her father had never stepped foot in a ring on account of the limitations brought on by a congenital heart defect.
Her parents' limited participation in the sport didn't keep it from being a big part of her life, however. She'd watch it as religiously as she could. At home, at that of her then neighbor Terrell Hughes, and every now and again, her family would visit Mexico, where they would catch live performances. Particularly those of her aunt, Andrea La Bribona, a beloved rogue whom she would later take after.
Beatriz would start getting involved in various athletics to help get herself in shape for wrestling: Ballet to start with, swimming, and track and field in middle school, where she was finally deemed old enough to begin training in the gym her aunt opened in the States after her retirement. For the first time in her life, she would really stand out. But unfortunately for her, not all of the attention was positive. Beatriz would earn her place as her top pupil, but there were some who believed that nepotism was at play, and they weren't afraid to let her know it.
Andrea had quickly become aware of the trouble that came her way, but would keep her distance and leave Beatriz to handle most of it alone. It was both a way to test Beatriz's mettle (as hers was years ago in a hostile locker room when she broke through international barriers and started wrestling in Japan) as well as an ill-thought out way to prove that she wasn't playing favorites, which had almost led to the two falling out after Beatriz had been jumped and almost shaved bald, with another student who stood with her during this incident being intimidated into never returning, the consequences of what Beatriz saw as apathy.
Andrea would make a course correction, leading to a gauntlet match that she'd try to talk Beatriz out of, but would ultimately relent on when it became clear that there was no way that she'd be able to put out the fire she saw in her niece with anything less.
Four on one, one right after the other, with a big, juicy Luchas de Apuestas cherry on top: Whoever lost would have to give up on wrestling before their career(s) could even begin. It was easily the longest, hardest battle that the then sixteen year old had ever faced, requiring every last scrap of knowledge absorbed, all of her grit. That fire would be burned all the way down to the embers.
On that fateful afternoon, she would leave bruised, battered, bloodied, barely able to walk...
...But she would leave victorious. It was everything Andrea needed to see to be convinced that Beatriz was truly a star in the making, and so she put in a word with Armando Alarcon Aguaya, who headed a small promotion in Tijuana, Mexico that was called Proxima Generacion de Lucha Libre. As the name implied, its roster was filled to the brim with other young and hungry talents who were all looking to make their own mark on the wrestling world. A challenge for sure, but Andrea didn't want the competition to be so fierce that it would pull her too far away from her studies. Plus, she wanted to give Beatriz some time to build a persona. It had never been a necessity in professional wrestling as a combat sport, and as such, Andrea hadn't stressed the matter. But the younger blonde had expressed the desire to come up with something that would help her break further away from being the looked over middle child of the family, and the veteran had faith that her creative mind would produce a memorable character.
Bella Pirata was who she wanted to be from the beginning, but the loss of her hair had dealt a serious blow to her self-image. She felt incomplete without it, unable to tap into her femininity. So instead, she would make her debut as the masked Anarquia, a punkish gimmick that she'd hastily put together. Her intention was never to wear a mask; she wanted the world to know who she was. And thusly, it would be a half-hearted portrayal and her connection with the fans was a weak one. Her ring work hadn't suffered any, however, so she would still do well.
And in time, her lovely golden tresses would return, coinciding with the completed formation of her womanly curves. And even better, Beatriz would be presented with the perfect excuse to hang up Anarquia's mask and tag Bella Pirata in when she was taken out of action for a few weeks following a nasty bump to the head when she was powerbombed on the outside. It had only given her a concussion, but she played it off as having been so devastating that her damaged brain had tricked her into believing that she was a pirate.
A pirate who she'd devoted countless hours to preparing to present to the world. It was an easy, comfortable transition, and now that she was having fun with her character, the fans ate her up. Her popularity with the old guard backstage plummeted, however. In the world of lucha libre, a wrestler's mask is a sacred thing. It's their identity, their heart and soul. If it's ever to come off at all, it's to be lost to a foe after a hard fought battle, not simply removed by its wearer.
Beatriz would once again find herself walking through the flames of adversity. But this time, instead of a jealous gang of bullies, her enemy would be Armando's wife Cougar Mask II, who took ownership of the PGLL after his passing. At first, the opposition was subtle: One week, Senora Cougar would switch out a middling opponent for someone tougher at the last second. On another, she'd send a top talent down to the ring and start a new match right after she'd defeated an opponent a little too easily, under the guise of sizing her up for a potential title shot. Cheating? She could forget about it. Bella's matches would be watched closely from backstage, and if she picked up a W that way, the match would be restarted. Meanwhile, every other rule breaker on the roster would go mysteriously unbothered, including one of her fellow challengers in the title scene.
Funny, that.
It became blatant in her bout for number one contendership for the Bantamweight title, where she was banned from using her Jumping the Plank finisher. Bella was told that its every use was a spit in the face of the wrestling hero who inspired it. The fact that Eddie Guerrero had committed a similar "offense" was ignored.
When it appeared as though Bella would come out on top, Cougar Mask would interfere directly, prompting Andrea to come to her defense. An act that she would be banned for. Their confrontation would create a distraction that Bella would take advantage of, blasting her opponent with the chair that he'd intended to use on her before covering him for the three count.
In many a tale, this would be where the young underdog would overcome the odds and win the big prize. Maybe even force the meddling authority figure to put the belt around her waist while she was at it.
This was not one of those tales. In an effort to ensure that Bella would not get any closer to the gold, Cougar offered a reward to anyone who could "teach her a lesson in respect". A title shot and a raise for anyone who didn't already have gold around their waist, an even bigger raise for those who did, and a place in the Cougar's good books for either. In a roster full of hungry youths looking to put her out of commission, some of whom were even willing to team up to split the rewards, Bella wouldn't have stood a chance.
And so she left the company.
That would not be the end of the story, however. Andrea refused to let it be. She convinced the frightened Bella to share her story on social media and lent her voice to the effort so it wouldn't simply be dismissed as a tall tale being cooked up by a bitter youngster who just couldn't hack it. Others would join in as well, including a few higher-ups who disapproved of Cougar Mask II's actions.
When the news broke, it was over for her. The resultant controversy had the public demanding her resignation, and they would have it. A replacement was quickly found -- one of the aforementioned cooler heads who'd spoken out against her. He reached out to Bella and Andrea, having rescinded the latter's ban and offering the former a warm welcome back.
It all came a bit too slowly, however. By then, the LAW, wanting to get their hands on the hot talent who'd driven her employer to such lengths to oust her, had already approached her with an offer. One that her aunt had encouraged her to accept.

Spoiler
Bella brings to her bouts a mixture of blinding speed that's up there with some of LAW's fastest, a healthy degree of the athleticism and high flying that's to be expected of a luchadora, sound technical skills that are boosted further along with a creative mind, a dash of sex appeal, and a quick wit and opportunistic mind that's always looking out for good means to steal a quick W.
What can she say? She was a big fan of Eddie Guerrero growing up, and was trained by her aunt, who in turn had been trained by one of Senor Guerrero's relatives who had participated in the real deal, rather than the choreographed variant. In keeping with his spirit, her brand of cheating is largely harmless to her opponents; she's far more likely to use the ropes and/or pull the opponent's tights for extra leverage for a pin, play possum to get them to drop their guard and create an opportunity, or take advantage of a distracted or discombobulated ref to grab a chair, smack the mat, and play dead after putting the chair in her opponent's hands just moments before the referee's attention returns to the match.
When she's wrestling a proper match, Bella uses her superior speed and agility to dazzle her opponent and frustrate them into making mistakes that she can capitalize on, and wearing them down bit by bit with a combination of submissions and constant pin attempts. She's a smart competitor, but she also has a liking for style that drives her to prioritize moves that look cool over those that are more pragmatic at times.

Ruby Booty Match
A Ruby Booty match is a contest that is won by spanking the opponent a set number of times, no less than ten. And no regular spankings will do: It is required that they be done onto bare ass; that set number per cheek. Fun implements such as paddles will be available at ringside, and they will be counted across both cheeks when properly applied.
Treasure Hunt Match
(Big thanks to Mart-Kos for the concept!)
A Treasure Hunt match takes place on a beach/island setting, with a boat docked and waiting for whoever can find a specific item and bring it aboard. And they must specifically step foot onto the deck with the item in their possession; throwing it won't cut it.
