When Kate learned of her next match, the first thing that jumped off the page was the name, "Reinhardt". It didn't take a genius to figure out they could have as well spelt trouble there. An old proverb came to mind and it rang true regardless of how things would go down. For that part, she had little hope of it being any good for her, granted, the name was doing a lot in terms of Intimidation factor but her opponent herself after a little digging did not seem like someone she could let her guard around for even a second.

As it always was the case, preparing for the fight did nothing to ease her mind, if anything, it only brought her attention to where she was lacking, all the little things someone could exploit, in the end only adding to her mounting anxiety until the day came. Now sitting in the locker room, she knew there would be no backing down. The hardest part would be to get on the scene, the audience would carry her through the entrance and adrenalin would dull some of the doubts when the bell rang.

Finally, the staff would shake her out of her stupor as they signalled it was her time to enter. Step, step, run.
"This match is scheduled for one Fallll! Introducing first, from Dallas, USA! Katarzyna Zawiślaaaaak!"

Entrance Music:

She burst onto the scene, stopping in its centre and throwing her hand up in the air as the music blared behind her. Some part of her mind noticing that this time, the announcer got really close to pronouncing it right and she couldn't help but smile. The first spark landed on the kindling and the cheers of the crowd slowly fanned the flame higher as she would bring her hand beside her head to flex for a second before again running down the ramp, clapping hands with people on the way before jumping up onto the apron and sliding inside the ring where she would make one circle waving to the audience before settling into her corner.

Lights ran for cover as Reinhardts made their presences known. Red was the only thing left. A dim scarlet that couldn’t reach the corners. Mist whisked across the invisible black stage. It made it look like a cloud, festering, that something from underneath had risen as a plume of red smoke mushroomed from the stage floor, then rolled out in folds. It grew thick. The lights started returning, but flickered when a pillar of flame shot up from the stage's lip.

There stood Karolina Ray Reinhardt in her black and gold bodysuit, marked by chains, a long red cape, its hood swaying with the ribbon dancing. She held a golden skull, took a sip of its wine, then sneered, turning head to the ring. A look dedicated to one Katarzyna Zawiślak. Her brows were sharp and that composure was infinite. And as the lights turned brighter, with the mist still holding grip over seeing the stage, there were four other shadows. Then as the lights turned back down, they were gone, and Maria’s theme hit its cue.

"And her opponent, from Oldenburg, Germany. Scaaaarlaheaart!"

It always had that build. The instruments. The voices. Grows, grows and grows until it hits its gentle stride. They made you wait. This was their dime, not yours. And when Maria did show up, she was cast in her two-piece. Short-shorts and a jacket that covered her arms, down to the gloves in red, black and gold. That scarf covered her mouth, leaving people to stare at her dejected eyes, except when she got on the ring-steps, popped her brows, pulled down the scarf and sneered like her mother.

She hooked her arms around the top rope, holding the hands out like in a gestured shrug, asking them what was wrong. They booed. And Maria thrived off noise, kicking back, with her shoulder blades as the fulcrum, flipped into the ring, landed on her feet. She continued that nonchalant pose, elbows tucked in, arms out. “Why so sad, everyone? Didn’t you MISS me?” Of course, they jeered. And Maria scoffed, spat over the top rope towards the front row, then pulled her scarf back up, looking directly at Kate.

“And just what do they call you?... Miss Nobody…Person… Whomever? Name. Out. Now.” Maria snapped her fingers.

Getting a flash of all the Reinhardts was a blood-chilling experience when you were standing alone in the ring. The sight lasted only a moment but it still made Kate swallow heavily and let out a shaky breath before her opponent finally made her entry proper. A smaller and rather pleasant-looking girl was not something she quite expected, the size was a side note but she expected someone vicious looking, intimidating at first sight, what she saw instead was no less unnerving but in a different way.

Her pondering was cut short as a question was directed at her. She was a bit perplexed. "It got announced just a moment ago..." She said uncertainly as to why she would be asked that even if not for the announcement, her opponent surely knew who she was fighting, right? "But Kate will do just fine" She replied in the same tone, expecting a bell that did not come, seemingly waiting for Scarletheart.

Ah, yes. What a girl. Muscled up to the cheek-bone.
Maria had half a mind to scan Kate with her sleepish eyes. Her expression is dull behind the scarf, with an idle mouth, absent of focus, and her brows were doing all the heavy lifting to keep her lids open. “Huhhh?” Maria’s face went flat. Announced a moment ago. In one ear and out the other. Blah blah -- She yawned into her hand. Loud. The name got pillowed by the egregious sound. “Yeah, I missed that.”

And the bell rang. She pushed up her eye on the corner with an index, rubbing the side, and trying to pull her shoulders up. “Right. We’re fighting.” After wiping her eyes with the back of her index, she hopped, cracked her neck twice and moved forward. Her stance was fairly square, just slightly slanted to put her left in the lead. Her right swung, aimed to bite into that meaty thigh.

Uncharasecly, Kate was getting slightly initiated, her opponent seemed half asleep as she spoke, words flying completely past her. Doubly irritating since it was she who asked in the first place only to then ignore the answer. It didn't really matter, not for much longer at least as the bell shook away all those thoughts.

Seeing her opponent:a stance, she would take a muay thai one to best match her opponent. Seeing the kick coming she would rise her leg to check it on the shin before closing the distance. As she did she would throw a jab followed by a right hook changing stances from orthodox to southpaw from which she would continue to move with a spinning back fist!

That jab was parried, swatted towards the side for a near miss, and the hook coming after breezed by her nose, having leaned back. But like all tardiness, it bit, and by the time she leaned up, having timed with a step back, their stance took a change and Maria ate it clean on the jaw, stopped short by rocking her whole chin by the corresponding arm having folded by her head. “PSH!”

Her head still jerked, but didn’t shake and wobble. She kept the spit in till after the shock wore off. It’s like a buzz. A cat scratch where the real hurt sunk in seconds after. She widened her base to absorb the momentum, but stayed upright, glancing at Kate, still tired-eyed. “Okay.” Maria said first, taking a finger and wiping the small cut over her bottom lip. “Maybe this’ll work.”


Her turn.
She made fists for the first time, timing her breath to throw a faint-jab with a hiss. Then she went low, looking to shoot a straight for the body. Her feet strafed to the side and tried to duck and weave any counter, and get the outside angle of Kate’s southpaw. Here, Maria’s back leg can whip like an open lane on a heavy bag, straight for a head-kick right on the damn button!

Kate saw the faint coming, reacting just enough to make her opponent think she fell for it as she kept a close eye on her movements. Seeing a straight coming to her body she decided to keep her hands up, letting her core absorb the damage as she tensed for the blow, it stung but she was used to that by now, nearly noticing a difference. Then the main course came and she was happy for keeping her hands up, The kick would connect, making Kate stumble and fall out of balance despite her hands coming up to block.

Her feet circled, compensating for her upper body being thrown off balance as she kept the angle they were at the same, the only difference being that now she would switch her stance back, getting a more advantageous angle on her foe, her left jerked, as if to go for a hook, then her right moved forward but a cross she threw was the real faint as the initial movement form the left would carry fourth, trying to catch Maria's chin before kate would step in with an uppercut to her stomach!

Thoroughly eaten. That was no good.
But. Already it seemed like things wouldn't be too bad if she can land one clean. Just needed another opening and to pick the time. And also stay awake enough, which always felt like a bigger problem with her eyelids being cast iron. Its always a way to pass the time, stare off into space while looking so intense at the same time. Stern, ready. Then by the time she processes the need to be in the moment, there her opponent was, circling with her, already close and a left eats into a reflexed forearm. Her base absorbs it, then she leans back from the straight.

Then the step in. Her lips push together before the moment. She retreats a step in turn but by the time she straightened out her back to strafe or lower her guard. It stinks deep. Maria lurches and gags, silently, coughing and urging out a wheeze. She picks up her breath faster to compensate, and forces her body to stay no matter the knee flutter felt just a second ago.

In response, Maria threw a head hook to try and go over the arm that just hit her stomach. Then Maria used her back leg to try and bury it into Kate's stomach, and hopefully force a stumble like before. If she can get that, then her main course came from a mean leg kick shooting for Kate's lead leg!

Protecting her head was always a priority, body shots tired you out and hurt but it were hits to the head that left you sprawled on the ground, your world spinning as people looked on. Having her boxing lessons near to her heart, she'd dip her head just under the punch that was thrown her way but the knee that came after dug into her unprepared stomach, making her wheeze as she took a step back, pained grimace on her face.

Quick on her feet, she didn't so much stumble as she took a retreating step allowing her to be prepared when the kick came, she withdrew her leg, letting the kick fly through the air as she took a step in, positioning her own limb behind where her opponent's leg would stop, her arm would go across the woman's chest to push while the leg kicked out in an attempt at a leg sweep takedown!

Perfect Reinhardt quality execution. Defenceless, pitiful AND with that pain written across their face like a paragraph of purple prose. Wonderful. But their exchange continued. Her leg flew by them, then behind, the enemy’s leg slipped. An arm across her chest and down she flew!

The smack pinched her wind like a kinked hose. Then it opened and she gasped. Now, the playing field changed and Scarlaheart puffed out her first action quickly. She tried keeping her waist free and mobile by shuffling it out towards the side. One breath--Two breath. An arm tried hooking over the wrist that was over her chest.

Then, if both moves succeeded, she would slam her feet on the ground and try to wedge her hips off the ground, turn into them, stretch a leg over and hope to all things Reinhardt that she could turn them onto their back.
