This was good. His first match. He needed this. He wanted this. He had trained hard for this. All those sports in school, all that time trying to bulk up as much as his small body would allow in the gym. This is where it paid off.
A production agent came out, telling Rai his music was about to be played. He replied in the affirmative, and took one last deep breath. Time to go.
His theme, "Spirit of Radio" by Rush began playing over the PA speakers, and the excited teen bounced on his bare heels in tune to the beat before he cleared the curtain, rushing out onto the entrance ramp and being gobsmacked as he saw the literal sea of people in attendance in the LAW arena. He'd been to concerts and wrestling events, he'd been in that crowd before, but to see it from this perspective...it send chills of excitement through him. No wonder performers loved crowds so much!
Granted...they didn't exactly give him the best reception. Nobody had any idea who he was, and many began laughing at the sight of him. Plenty of jokes and comments about his small size were shouted as he came down the ramp, others just sat in stony silence, certain that they were just seeing some new jobber who wasn't worthy of their attention. Others just rocked out to the song, which made sense cause...well its Rush, how couldn't you?
Still, Rai took some breaths, cleared his head, and ran down the ramp the rest of the way, sliding under the ropes and getting into the ring, hopping up onto his bare feet before moving to a corner, where he quickly hopped onto a turnbuckle and laid himself in comfy, resting position across the corner ropes, awaiting his first ever opponent!
