Thunder Ryuko vs. Katsumi Oshiro

Unread post by CyanDimitrik »

Standard Match
Victory by Pinfall, Submission, or KO

Katsumi has been causing a ruckus in the ranks; putting herself out there, pushing hard against her forerunners, getting up in all the faces she can find. All the faces. And it seems to've caught the attention of a booker. It's hard to say who exactly put in for this match. Maybe the higher-ups wanted to give Katsumi a chance to really prove herself. Maybe her opponent's manager wanted to shut the punk up. But whatever the reason may be, Katsumi Oshiro, the Punk Princess, will be facing the famous veteran, Thunder Ryuko.

Of course Katsumi knows who she is. Of course she's seen her in action. Her reputation precedes her, and her pedigree is obvious. It'll be a huge deal for Katsumi to beat her; a real credit, something she could put forward as a sign that she's every bit the real deal she's claiming. Past matches are past. The next match is always the most important one. And her next match is against a girl bigger, older, and more experienced than her.

That thought creates a lump in her throat. She swallows hard.

Already dressed for the match in her sleek black wrestling boots, black short shorts with feline-themed belt, black choker, pink longsleeved shirt, and black sportsbra-esque top beneath, one might think she's ready for this. She doesn't look it, though. The petite Asian is pacing back and forth in the dressing room, her hands covering her face, frame rigid. She's got to win this, but she's extremely positive that even if she pulls it off, it's going to hurt a lot. It's hard to bite back nerves in the face of these odds. No one's backing her to come out with the victory here. Hell, forget nerves - she's kind of scared.

"Oshiro-san," comes a mousy voice from the door. "They're ready for you."

"Mmngh!," is Katsumi's atypically timid, muffled response.

Insofar, Katsumi has been the second wrestler to enter the ring. Tonight would be different. She doesn't know what that means. Maybe it means nothing and she's making something of it. Maybe she's hyping Ryuko up to herself far more than she should. Or maybe they expect the better wrestler to go second and really elicit that pop from the crowd.

Katsumi's stomach knots a little more behind the curtains. She begins bobbing on her boots anxiously, tiny frown on her face and brow knit.
Katsumi's music hits the arena...
The entrance ramp comes alive with an array of green and gold laser lights set in rhythmic sync with the heavy bass of the music. Katsumi's highlight reel begins running on the titantron, showcasing her flashier and more hard-hitting spots in her short, but fiery career insofar with LAW.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Making her way to the ring!," begins the announcer. "At a height of 5'5", and weighing in at 124 lbs.! From Osaka, Japan! The Punk Princess! KATSUMI! OOOOSHIROOO!"

The curtains are thrown aside, and the young Japanese girl bounds into view, still hopping on her boots, but now in beat with her music. A pair of amber-hued pyros flare at either side, and the punkette tosses her hands into the air. With a nimble pirouette on toe, she begins a spirited trot down the ramp, awash in a mixture of cheers and boos from the audience. The tension, worry, and excitement are all bottled deep inside her for now, her expression set in its near-trademarked cocky, confident, and utterly impish smile. As she nears the ring, she grabs onto the lower hem of her shirt to pull it up and over her head, exposing her trim midsection to the open air.
Katsumi
The shirt is tossed aside to the corner of the ring!

She hops up onto the ring apron and neatly pivots to face out at the audience again. She shoots a wink before arching her back over the top rope in a deliberately provocative, yet languid angle, pulling her frame taut as she rolls over to land neatly onto the mat. In a flash, she's dashed up the nearest turnbuckle to throw a fist into the air. She nods to the audience in a show of assurance that she, in earnest to herself, does not actually feel. She hops down to repeat the treatment in the opposite corner of the ring before finally dropping and turning to wait there for her opponent to enter.

She's practically shaking. Crap.

Thunder Ryuko watched from backstage as Katsumi made her way out to the ring. A whole lot of pop glitz and glamor. she hoped the women could back it up, and thankfully she wasn't some dumb gaijin pretender. However, her desire to shine and input style before substance seemed apparent. Ryuko hoped that her ability matched her apparent boldness.

As her music played Ryuko came walking out calmly as she waved to the crowd a couple times as she kept her head held high, her eyes focused on Katsumi. Ryuko wanted to maintain an air of clam dominance about her, and did her best to exude that as she slid underneath the ropes and got up in the ring standing tall amidst a mixed crowd sound of mostly cheers along with a few boos that were heard. She looked Katsumi over and stood in the middle of the ring with her arms crossed. "So this is it? I heard a lot about you and the noise you have been making. I want to see if you are for real. Don't disappoint me." Ryuko said as she kept an icy stare fixed upon Katsumi.

Ryuko deep down needed this win. She didn't burst into LAW on a dominant undefeated roll like she had anticipated. That made her much more hungry than she would have been otherwise and arguably much more deadly inside the ropes.

Attention pulls off of Katsumi, and the punkette breathes a sigh. Her hands lift to grip the ropes at either side, white-knuckled and head bowed. That dread is building in her more and more, knowing that each continued strain of her opponent's themesong brings her closer and closer to the ring. Closer to getting her hands on her.

The shaking hasn't let up.

At last, the taller woman is directly across from her, and Katsumi can't fake the confidence anymore. Those expressive eyes are wide, her lips a small, thin line. What Ryuko says seems like it's asking for a retort - a rebuttal. Katsumi's mouth opens, and all that comes out is a faint sound of uncertainty.

The referee-girl doesn't care. She signals the bell. *DING*

Katsumi doesn't stride out of her corner like normal. It's a couple seconds before she pries herself off the ropes and takes a few halting steps towards the center of the ring. Her hands raise, fingers splayed, eyes still wide and unblinking. The challenge is made to lock up. But what will Ryuko do?

This little woman was challenging the thunder empress to a lock up? Ryuko nodded and smiled as she moved in, clasping Katsumi's hands as she pressed into her, going all out from the get-go to try to drive her back into the ropes or a corner! "You think this is going to work to beat me? You are a confused little girl..." Ryuko said as she did all she could to force Katsumi back!

Ryuko was a proud lady, and never had it in her to turn down a challenge. Especially not a challenge she was never going to lose in her estimation.

When fingers lace together, Katsumi's eyes widen even further. She'd intended only a lockup! A standard start to the match! Not a test of strength! She has no confidence that she's going to overpower Ryuko, despite being noticeably strong for a girl her size. At the end of the day, Katsumi is still a girl her size, and Ryuko is strong for her size as well. It just doesn't make tactical sense!

The dark-haired punkette locks her arms rigidly and arches her spine, knees bent and boots digging into the mat when the struggle gets on. She has no snappy, snarky remarks for her opponent. She's entirely focused on not losing ground and trying to defy physics by overwhelming her foe. But it doesn't take long for the audience to see it's a losing contest for her. She starts to tilt backwards and has to take a step back to avoid toppling. Then another. Then another.

"Aahhn..!"

Katsumi's eyes squeeze shut as she tries to match the force, toned body visibly flexed in effort, but the momentum is solidly on Ryuko's side. She feels the ropes begin to stretch across her back soon enough, and her heels run out of mat to dig into. Her leverage is completely taken away, leaving her vulnerable! Eyes open again, deer in headlights.

Ryuko feels Katsumi back against the ropes and knows she is in a good spot. Ryuko swings her knee up, ramming it into Katsumi's abdomen as hard as she can! Ryuko knows the ropes will bounce as Katsumi is struck so she steps back. As KAtsumi's body and the ropes bounce back she swings her leg up sending a hard kick across her opponents abomden as well! Ryuko almost see's Katsumi like one of those inflatable punching clowns at this point and wants to use that to her advantage.

Ryuko sets up and readied a few punches for Katsumi's abdomen as well, hoping to cap it all with an uppercut to the jaw if she can! She does see that Katsumi appears athletic, and likely has a good deal of agility. Ryuko can only hope her little strike combination connects otherwise she herself will be in a bad position to counter anything KAtsumi attempts!

"Nnh..!," Katsumi struggles against her predicament, her sinewy arms starting to shake. But any hopes of a reversal are dashed the moment Ryuko's knee slams into her unprotected stomach. "Gugh!" She bounces back against the ropes and staggers forward, right into a fresh kick to the stomach! "Uagh..!" She staggers back again, this time her arms flying back to hook the top rope in hopes of keeping herself from bouncing forward again. That, too, backfires, as Ryuko just rains punches into Katsumi's midriff, resulting in a sagging, hurting punkette.

The uppercut nails her in the jaw, whipping her head back and straightening her posture. Teeth clak together, and Katsumi drops like a sawed tree, falling forward. The young upstart falls forward, landing facedown and dazed. It takes her a moment, but she begins shifting again, her hands scooting along the mat beneath her.

Ryuko watches Katsumi fall forward and grins. "This is why little punk rockers don't belong in the ring with wrestlers little girl." Ryuko said, bending down to pull Katsumi up harshly by her hair. Ryuko would look her in the eye a brief second before bending down to lift Katsumi up holding her across her chest. She aimed to lift Katsumi high before bringing her down triumphantly and painfully across her knee to deliver a big back breaker to the smaller Katsumi!

If successful Ryuko would transition into a cocky pin, laying across Katsumi's chest putting on as much pressure as she could while flexing her arm confidently with her free arm! Ryuko looked out to the crowd with a grin, some cheering on the traditionalist while others urged the energetic, charismatic Katsumi to kick out!

A pained cry, notably more pathetic-sounding than her bravado would suggest she capable of, is given when her hair is pulled forcefully. Her hands shoot to Ryuko’s wrists in hopes of lessening the sting in her scalp, but there’s nothing she can do to stop the momentum just yet.

She finds herself grabbed and hefted, pressed across Ryuko’s chest, her eyes wide and panicked. But before she can protest, she’s dropped and her back explodes in pain against her opponent’s knee. Her body lies arched over her leg, taut and on display to the relentless camera flash of the audience.

Thankfully, the move isn’t capitalized on any further, and she’s simply transitioned onto the mat. Ryuko’s weight settles across her modest chest, and Katsumi lies supine beneath her. The referee drops beside the pair to begin slapping the mat

ONE!

Katsumi’s body is hurting - especially her back right now. The tension knot in her stomach isn’t much helping the ache in her core, either. But she needs to win this. And even though Ryuko’s is living up to her expectation on brutality, Katsumi can’t let herself wimp out and surrender. She knew tonight would hurt.

TWO!

Katsumi twists enough to pull her shoulder up off the mat, chest pushing against Ryuko’s more. “N-no!” No snappy, witty remarks. Just a refusal.

Ryuko grit her teeth, slapping the mat in frustration as Katsumi didn't stay down! "Damn brat...." Ryuko said as she pulled Katsumi up to her feet by the arm.

Ryuko wanted to plant her hard to the mat, and maybe follow up with a hold of some kind. For now she was focused on the first part of her plan. Ryuko set herself up to Irish whip Katsumi to the ropes and hopefully setting herself up to powerslam Katsumi as she bounced back at her!
