Blair Yuen vs. Reny Selene

Reny was quickly finding out that she just might have underestimated what her opponent was capable of - and now, she was paying the price. It made Blair's heart beat a little faster with rising excitement as she realized she was, at long last, turning things around - that she was rising above her past disappointments and proving that she could still be a force to be reckoned with in the ring. But she couldn't let that excitement distract her from the task at hand. She still had a match to win, and she had always fared her best when she was directing all her efforts toward furthering her goals in the match. She couldn't let herself lose sight of that now!

As she came to a stop by the ropes, Reny managed to get her feet underneath her and pull herself back up as Blair was approaching. The Muay Thai fighter wouldn't let that stop her, though. She was already set on her plan, and she wasn't going to get anywhere by second-guessing herself. Besides, even after Reny got on her feet, her balance would still likely be compromised in those few moments before she gathered her bearings, giving Blair the perfect moment to strike! In a flash, Blair lunged in closer to Reny, grabbing her leg and yanking it out from under her - and the two of them fell to their backs, the ring shaking as they touched down with a thud, while Blair wrenched back harder at Reny's leg to stretch it in a kneebar!

Gritting her teeth and clenching her fingers tightly around her foe's limb, Blair pulled back with all her might, her knuckles going white under the pressure. She'd fought for this opportunity, and she wasn't going to relinquish it! As long as her hold was locked in, she'd do all she could to inflict more strain on her opponent! But Blair's stubbornness would get her into trouble. Even though Reny had gotten closer to the ropes, Blair hadn't adjusted the course of her plans to match - and she had kept up with the plan to put the Young Lioness in a submission hold, even when she was well in range of a rope break!

Blair would receive a reminder of that moments later, as Reny reached out to grab the ropes, and the referee ordered her to release her grip. She hissed under her breath, giving her opponent's leg one last crank - but in the end, she knew she had no choice. She let Reny's leg go and rolled aside, getting to her knees, then picking herself back up and dusting herself off. She let out a huff as she watched Reny for her next move. That, she had to admit...could have gone better.

Still, Blair reminded herself, she had dealt some damage to her leg, and that was likely to hamper her opponent for the rest of the match. Taking in a deep breath, she raised her hands and sank lower into a stance, watching Reny carefully. Her muscles were tense and ready to strike. If Reny started to get up, Blair would already have a fist cocked and ready to fly straight for her head as soon as she came in range, with a jab to the face! She wouldn't let her have even a moment to recover, if she had anything to say about it!

When Reny manage to grab into the rope, she thought her suffering would end as she begin to think about the damage that Blair was dealing to her leg and how badly it will effect her performance, but Blair decided to be mean as give her leg one final crack as it would have make Reny cried out in pain as she would have immediately began to hold her injured leg when Blair finally let go and put some space between them

It was at that moment Reny would have thought to herself that, she will make Blair scream in this match if it is the last thing she do as she would have grab into the rope to try and slowly get back on her feet and recover as she would have grit her teeth to try to ignore the pain on her leg when she tried to put preasure on the leg by attempting to stand, this will be annoying

However it will probably recover with time, the time that Blair wouldn't give toward her as she would have push forward on the offences to send a fist straight toward her head. Seeing this Reny would have tried to lean back on the rope to tried to use it as a makeshift trampoline to prople her forward diagonally as she tried to go low to both dodge her opponent fist and went past her opponent to try to make her opponent eye on her and looking down as she would have send a overhanded hook at Blair face in her blind spot if Reny manage to succesfully grab Blair attention to try for a counter attack with the added force of Blair own powerful strike. Reny would have thought that if she can't put a lot of power in her leg then the least she could do at that moment is use the momentum of the rope and Blair own power to strike at Blair blindspot, it work in theory but Reny will hope that it will work in pratice as well or she might be in deep trouble rather quickly

With Reny getting the rope break, Blair had no choice but to let her go. But her efforts hadn't been in vain - she could see that as much. She saw how the Young Lioness teetered uneasily on her footing, and how her bad leg buckled beneath her weight as she tried to set it down. It was no accident that Blair had targeted her leg this way - she had already seen how quick Reny could be on her feet, and she knew that if she could hamper her mobility, she'd be a much easier foe to take down. Now that she'd worn down at her limb, Reny didn't seem quite so daunting as an opponent. Nevertheless, Blair still had to keep up her guard. The match wasn't over, and anything could happen.

In fact, Blair was ready for Reny as soon as she got back up - and as soon as she came into range, the Muay Thai fighter's fist shot out, aimed to deliver a punch! But Reny sprung at the same time, and darted right under the shot! Blair's eyes widened in shock as she realized her blow had missed, but she would only have a few seconds to ponder that as her opponent darted in closer to her. She tried to bring her hands in closer to protect herself, but it was no use - driven by the momentum of the ropes, Reny struck Blair in the face before she could even tell what was happening!

As she cried out in pain, the Canadian's head spun to the side, sending her coughing and wheezing as she took a few staggering steps back. Then, her balance finally gave out, and she dropped to one knee. She winced, feeling where her head had gone numb from the strike, but she still looked back up at Reny, where her eyes narrowed in a glare. At first, she was tempted to get back up and charge her - but then, she got a better idea.

Now, the two fighters had been separated some distance apart. If Reny wanted to keep the pressure on Blair, she would have to come toward her - and that would mean putting pressure on her bad leg. Maybe, Blair thought, she could bait her into making a mistake - and if she could get her to flinch, then she could strike. A smirk crossed her face for a moment as the thought hit her, but she quickly bit her lip so as not to give away the plan. Either way, she would straighten herself to her feet, and she fixed her eyes on her foe. It was up to Reny to make the next move...

The overhanded punch would have connected toward her opponent face as she would have felt relief that it actually work, as her desperate plan to escape would have succeeded and manage to get both Blair on her knee and position Blair closer toward the rope this time instead of her as she would have taken this chance to take a deep breath and calm herself down as moving recklessly even while she is on her knee might prove costly as she took this chance to look Blair in the eye and glare back as the Young Lioness actually managed to bring the former champion to her knee

When Blair get back up and doesn't approach her reny would have narrow her eye and growl "playing a bit careful against yours truly?" She ask annoyed that she need to be one to start their engagement. It is a good strategy since her leg get damage quite badly, but knowing something is good strategy doesn't help in her finding it annoying when it is use against her

But if someone challenged her to fight, it is only polite to accept that offer as she would have began to charge at Blair with both of her arm on guard position to protect her face as she would have hiss trying to ignore the pain of her leg as she would have tried to straight up tackle blair straight toward to the rope to trap her in it so she can't use the range advantage she have when comparing Blair leg and her fist.

If this succeed, she would have began to switch stance so she doesn't put as much preasure on her her injured leg as she would have send powerful hook toward Blair liver hoping that the blow would be enough to slow her down, if her opponent tried to seal her power and mobility by targeting her leg then she will target her body to achieve the same thing.

Blair thought she had a good plan in place, anyway. But it was quickly dawning on her that Reny had an edge when it came to psychological warfare - and the way she accomplished that was being obnoxious enough to test Blair's nerves and her patience alike. When she heard Reny call out her strategy, it made the Muay Thai fighter's brow narrow in a frustrated glare as she grumbled under her breath, her fists tightening at her sides as her muscles tensed. It was a reminder that she was holding back - that she was, perhaps, playing things a little too cautious against an opponent who by all means should have been far below her skill level. That reminded her all too much of everyone who had called her a coward or accused her of hesitating, including her own last opponent. Still, she sucked in a breath and shook that thought out of her head. Not now, she told herself - if she let it get to her, that could only hold her back. In her glory days, she had been able to succeed due to her stategic planning and awareness of the situation, and if she lost her cool, she'd lose that edge. It was just as valid a strategy as any to know when to hang back - she just had to remember that.

Indeed, Reny seemed to take the bait, coming closer to her. She lifted her arms to protect her head, and when Blair saw that, she had to resist the urge to smirk a little bit wider - it looked as though Reny was falling right into her trap! If she kept her guard focused on her upper body, her lower would be vulnerable! Reny lunged toward her, shoving her back up against the ropes as their bodies drove into one anohter; as she felt the cables stretch against her weight and her balance shift from the ball of her foot to her heel, Blair hissed through her teeth, but she was quick to remind herself that she too had an opportunity she could take advantage of. She saw that Reny was drawing back a fist and prepared to strike - but if all went according to plan, Blair would be quicker. The Canadian raised her fists to protect her body, while at the same time, her leg swung out to deliver a kick to the shin of Reny's bad leg, hoping the pain would be enough to give her pause!

When Reny tackle Blair into the rope, she thought that she would have the advantage in this range as she could practically ignore the possible range advantage that Blair possess with her leg, and being this close would help her avoid a much more lethal hit that is in Blair arsenal and what she is famous for.

Attempting to take advantage of their position, Reny would have attempt to send a punch toward Blair stomach to make it easier for her to trap and harder for Blair to escape, but before her fist could connect, Reny would have been strike down on her shin as the impact of the blow would have make Reny let out a muted cry causing her to buckle making her punch flimsy in the process hitting Blair guard so lightly that it probably wouldn't count as a hit at all.

However, instead of stubling back, or back away...Reny would have basically throw her body wildly toward Blair to keep her toward the rope as much as possible, while that kick hurt a lot, it will hurt even worst if she able to gain some distance. Sometimes what look like to be most painful and worst option is actually the best option that she could have taken. Knowing that she probably couldn't throw a proper punch in her current state, she would have tried to send a headbutt toward Blair chin to try to stun her just long enough to wrap both of her arm around blair stomach in hope to get some damage in using a bearhug! Even if it suck that she can't win purely by striking, she hated losing to someone specialist in striking even more

Reny had been thinking strategically in trying to box Blair into tight quarters, refusing to let her strike from a distance. It seemed like she had done her research on just who she was up against - far too much for Blair's liking. Now Blair had an opponent who was trying to get in her head and outmanuever her, and she would be forced to step up her game to match; she'd need to stay one step ahead of her if she wanted to keep her edge. That was going to make things harder. But all was definitely not lost - Blair could see that as much. Even now, in fact, Reny was making a mistake. While it was true that many of Blair's most famed strikes were thrown from a distance, by no means was she any stranger to close-quarters combat. Muay Thai was a style that viewed the elbows and knees to be just as much of striking limbs as the hands and feet were, and she was about to put that knowledge to good use!

The dark-haired girl's leg kicked out at Reny's shin, and the resounding crack that echoed from the strike caused Blair's heart to quicken with excitement. She could feel the way Reny had shrunken back, and the way her footing started to slip. She'd interrupted Reny's momentum, and now she just needed to seize on the opening! But Reny was once again too quick for her. Blair had swung out with one elbow, then another, trying to catch Reny in the ribs with at least one, but Reny had already closed the distance - and her next blow was one thrown with her entire body, as the Young Lioness hurled herself up against her!

The Muay Thai fighter reeled backward, her teeth locked in a grimace as Reny's chest and sternum collided with her own with the sound of a smack. She teetered in place, her balance threatening to give out. And if she was rocked already by the impact of Reny's full-body splash, the headbutt that followed wouldn't do her any favors! Before Blair had a chance to recenter her balance, Reny's head slammed straight into her jaw, causing her head to fly back in an arc as she cried out in pain. Knocked around as she was, she would've lost her balance then and there - were it not for Reny catching her and reeling her back into close range as she locked in a bear hug!

Now, with the pressure bearing down on her, Blair's teeth clenched in a grimace, her face contorting from the pain as her spine bent inward in Reny's embrace. She started to cry out in pain before she bit at the inside of her cheek, trying to stifle the urge. It was already enough of an insult that she was letting a Young Lioness get such an edge on her, a former champion, like this. She couldn't give her the satisfaction of knowing she'd made her scream; no, she had to be better! The veins in Blair's forehead bulged as she tried to steady herself through the pain - but still, she struggled, twisting and turning in Reny's arms as she started to kick her legs wildly in the air. If she could hit Reny in the leg, she thought, she just might be able to disrupt her stance. Especially if it was that same leg she'd already targeted!

When she manage to lock in the bearhug and cause Blair to almost scream out in pain, it would have make her glee as she could feel that the match is tilting into her favor when she is against someone like blair, sure she is exploiting what she think is her weakness after days of researching but having too much of an obvious weakness is not her fault at all.

"Come on, scream! Let it out, it will be better for you to let the crowd know!" She said as she would have tighten the hold and purposely taunting her opponent knowing that Blair have to much pride, if you insult that pride then she will become easier to deal with...if you can handle the storm that is coming from making her mad in the first place

Blair wild desperation and kick wouldn't really effected her much as compare to before she couldn't put much power behind it, but rather taking anymore chance and give Blair more time to build up more damage toward her, Reny would have lean backward and begin to try to suplex Blair straight toward the mat head first as she doubt she would be able to make Blair submit this early so the best thing she could do is to deal as much damage as she can, as she hope that Blair is actually stun long enough from the suplex so she could follow it up with something else

The pain that was bearing down around Blair's waist was one thing - for as small as Reny was, she carried a surprising amount of strength behind her grip, and her arms were digging deep into the Canadian's ribs, causing her airways to grow narrow and forcing her to fight to even take down frantic gulps for breath. But for Blair, the physical pain was nothing compared to the taunts and jeers Reny was throwing at her - daring her to scream; goading her to debase herself in front of all the fans. It made her cheeks burn hot to think about it. She was already humiliated enough being relegated to facing developmental talent on the undercard; to actually be at the mercy of a Young Lioness and to admit it to the world would be something she could never forgive herself for. But it also lit a fire of resistance in Blair, and it reminded her of why she was fighting. No, it couldn't end now. She couldn't dare to let Reny have what she wanted. No matter how much she wanted to scream, no matter how much her lungs burned with that urge, she just clenched her teeth tighter to stifle that inside of her, shaking her head in a silent refusal. She was better than that - and she couldn't let Reny win. She'd fight tooth and nail to keep that from happening!

As a matter of fact, Reny was starting to look to different tactics. Just then, Blair felt herself beginning to tip backward, as Reny shifted her center of balance away. As she felt herself going parallel to the ground, Blair realized what was about to happen. Reny was about to land a suplex! At this point, the balance had already tipped, and Blair was already starting to fall. She knew there was no use in trying to delay the inevitable. She was going to have to eat this suplex. But she would at least go down fighting!

Sucking in a breath to steady herself, Blair kicked her legs up once again - this time, looking to throw them around Reny's waist as she began to fall back. She crossed her legs at the ankles to lock her legs in position. She'd still land on her head, but if her grip held firm enough she could at least drag Reny down with her, preventing the girl from taking the lead. And if she was anchored well enough in place, she could keep pressing the advantage by holding down the pressure, trying to lock in a bodyscissor!

Knowing full well that Blair would be to stubborn to tap out or even scream in her bearhug, Reny tried to change the phase by suplexing her opponent to tried to get a advantage out of their exchange. She thought that she will have more breathing room after she manage to succesfully land the suplex, but Blair have other idea as she would have quickly hook her leg toward Reny waist to drag her down with her.

While the impact of Blair dragging her down hurt her, she rationalize that Blair should have taken worst off from the exchange but the idea would soon be gone quickly when Blair would have tighten the hold on her waist for a body scizor as it would have draw out a scream for reny

Looking quickly around to see the rope is no where near them, Reny decided that the only way to escape is to go forward as she would have raise up her hand and send it straight toward Blair vulnerable stomach, as she would have send punch after punch toward it hoping that she could either tenderize it to the point even touching it will hurt or she manage to make Blair let go off her. Either option should prove beneficial toward her, at the very least compare to being stuck in this painful hold at the very least
