Her best friend, Deanna Duncan, had made quite an effort to try doing something nice for Cheyenne. She had wanted to help her bestie feel gorgeous and give her a pick-me-up during a lull in her career. And Deanna Duncan did that by asking the world to talk about how smoking hot she was, through Twitter. After sharing enough photos of her online, and after many sleuths had also shared photos and videos to help emphasize Cheyenne Black Rock's body in all the right ways, Deanna finally showed the very positive reception to her friend.
To say the least, Cheyenne's response was abject horror and astonishment. Seeing the objectifying comments and compliments about her, all in such a concentrated place, was quite overwhelming. Black Rock was someone who didn't want nor expect any kind of attention such as that. She became a professional wrestler for the combat, to test her skills, and to fight. And it seemed that other people had seen her as far more than that. In a wide range of explicit comments.
Leading up to this reveal, she had received compliments at the gym, backstage, in the locker rooms, and had sneak photos taken of her. A very odd occurrence she just thought was people being weird to her randomly. And when Deanna Duncan showed her everything, it became far more than that. And it made Cheyenne very self-conscious, frazzled, and in disbelief that the collective was just complimenting her going viral on the internet, a place she rarely ever went to. And it bled into her real life now. After an argument between the two best friends went very poorly, the Black Diamond members got some separation from themselves.
And the following day, LAW producers and talent agents requested to speak to Cheyenne. It was something they rarely ever did with her. She was a basic wrestler, keeping her head down and wrestling. She didn't command a ring with charisma or a larger-than-life persona--she was the strong member of a rather good tag team. Cheyenne Black Rock wasn't any sort of major player, and they didn't have time for her most times. However, they did that day, as it turned out.
They said they saw the buzz about her online, and that there has been a very vocal demand for more of Cheyenne Black Rock. The people wanted to see more Cheyenne Black Rock. And they also wanted to see more of her too. They wanted to extend her contract to include more photoshoots, physical appearances, and then even tested the waters to see how she felt about softcore matches, and then hentai matches. The entire time during this pitch, Cheyenne was wide-eyed in shock. It was a reaction she rarely ever had, even with a friend like Deanna Duncan always surprising her. She was silent, listening on as they gave their best pitch to her, offering more money to her contract as well.
And when they asked for Cheyenne's thoughts, the Native American simply said, "...Is you serious right now?" The simple words stunning the LAW team to silence themselves, before laughing and breaking the awkwardness again. They assured her she didn't have to make a decision right now. She didn't even need to ask any questions right now. Cheyenne had a million questions to ask, but she didn't even know where to start. And so, they broke off the meeting and said they would follow up with her later, keeping Black Rock in an astonished state.
So she reached out to a friend. She hadn't had many. Deanna and her weren't speaking currently, and Deanna was hardly someone she could speak to about this anyway. Instead, Cheyenne reached out to another friend who she had kept in touch with, and was far more comfortable in this realm than she was. It was Alizeh Midori, who she had previously shared a romantic date with, and an even more romantic night with as well. Their lives had kept them busy enough to not pursue it further, but they managed to keep in touch here and there, and spoke when they ran into each other in LAW locations.
And it all led Cheyenne Black Rock to standing outside Alizeh's apartment, standing in a white top and jeans, just staring at the door as she mustered the will to ring the door bell. With a heavy sigh, the Native American would hit the door bell, trying to collect herself for the conversation she was about to have.
