One Rocker To Another

It was another night with a Mic Chick concert, where LAW's very own Mic Chick was tearing it down. The entire night was loud, fun, and bombastic, with people dancing, drinking, and singing in the venue. Mic Chick herself encouraged the rowdiness, doing a few stage dives and crowd surfing, going into the crowd for parts of her performance, and otherwise encouraging the high energy atmosphere that she had always promoted during her matches too.

She was wrapping up her final song of the night with her band, shredding on the guitar and singing one of her more famous singles, "Hit Me With Your Rock", with much of the crowd at large singing along with the chorus as she danced and sang on stage! The song ended with a long solo from the drummer, with Mic Chick head thrashing until it finally went to a conclusion, slamming one more riff on her guitar before taking the microphone and yelling out loud, "Thank you, I fucking love you guys! I can't wait to see all of you again!" Throwing up the horns, the crowd cheered loudly for the band as Mic Chick began to leave, looking amped up after her performance.

And it wasn't too much later that Mic Chick was standing outside, sipping a bottle of beer. She was in an alley way in the back of the venue, looking like she was decompressing after the show, a contrast of the high energy she was showing during her performance. It had wiped her out, and she was happy to have some time to herself. Still in her black crop top and vest and plaid skirt, Mic didn't bother getting more comfortable just yet. She needed a breather, and she needed to be away from people. She needed a bit of peace and quiet right now.

...But she wasn't going to get it. A fan had managed to find her in the back alley. And unfortunately for Mic Chick, he was the sort who was being pushy, trying to get a selfie without consent. Seeming very annoyed, Mic had struck back and tried backing away, arms up. "Hey dude, you need to back the hell up and give me my space. None of this is cool," stated the rocker bluntly. She was almost ready to deck the guy, who was now starting to chew her out and call her out for not being kind enough to fans--and Mic's fuse was quickly running out.

Katsumi, out'n about!
Image
Is it weird for musicians to go to other musicians' performances?

Katsumi isn't sure. She, herself, hasn't performed any massive concerts. No, that calling was put on the backburner for her one true love: the glamorized combat sport of professional wrestling. Her musical finesse is relegated to the depths of Youtube and small venues.

But is it weird to go to another musician's concert?

She first considered it before committing to spending her night going to the concert, but ultimately decided 'meh'. She needed a break, she doesn't mean the blonde any specific harm outside of the potential of meeting her in the ring. They have a clean slate. She can indulge without weirdness, right? Right.

A few LAW fans recognized her in the crowd, but it's lost in the chaos. But after the concert, the Punk Princess is finally talking with a few fans. Some goad her about coming to another wrestler's show, suspicious that she may be up to something. Perhaps a match in the works, akin to the Suzume Sheska ordeal? But she shrugged it off. Mic Chick vanished, anyway!

Unfortunately, tonight's headliner isn't the only one with persistent fans. And as she attempts to slip away, a few begin to follow her, spurring her to dip away through a door marked for personnel! And just like that, the punkette emerges into the venue's back area, not far from the commotion taking place between Mic Chick and her own over-eager fan.

An eyebrow quirks. "The Hell...?"

She takes in a quick breath and heaves it with a sigh. She could just walk away. She could let the concert chick deal with it on her own. But she can't help but have sympathy for her. She'd just finished a concert, and now she's being treated like less than a person. Especially with the frustration she'd just endured, herself. Only this dude seems way worse.

"Hey," rises her voice behind Mic Chick. Katsumi steps around her to stand at her side, the vibrant emerald gaze not leaving the toxic fan. "She's not the mean one, I am. She said no. You've probably heard that from enough chicks in your life to understand what it means, so piss off."

Mic Chick was ready to do something she may very well regret. Hitting a fan was a no-no, especially with the frankly shoddy PR she usually had, and how trigger happy the media was to present anything to make her look bad. And while it wouldn't be the first obnoxious fan she hit, Mic didn't have the excuse of intoxication, nor did she need more of that headache in her life now. But just as she was about to reel back and sock this loser in the face, she was surprised to see someone step beside her to tell him to take off too. The fan, looking bitter, angry, and also a shade of ashamed, not getting anything he wanted in his own toxic way, he simply opted to just walk away, leaving Mic Chick in peace.

As soon as he began to walk away, the rocker would tilt her head back and let out a loud groan. She ran a hand through her hair, still damp from sweating during her performance and shouted, "Fuuuuu-uuuuuck me. What was with this nut? Get literally any humanity before coming to me with this shit." Her frustration was palpable. But regardless, she would tap Katsumi on the chest with the back of her hand and shake her head. "Thanks, though. I appreciate the back up. People normally leave me to handle this shit on my own. Usually with a phone out and on record." Chick smiled a little bit as she looked at Katsumi, but it was clear that she was still feeling rather angry from the situation, and still cooling down from it. But she did genuinely seem to appreciate the girl's intervention.

Her brow narrowed as she looked Katsumi over though. Mic Chick canted her head, looking thoughtful. "Hold up, you look familiar. Not like, I saw you in the crowd familiar, but like actually familiar," mused the singer, snapping her fingers a few times on one hand as she tried to make the connection.

Katsumi wasn't exactly looking forward to the prospect of decking a normie, herself. This may not have been her fan, but normies are... normies. There's no sport in it. If she has to put five across the eyes of a non-wrestler, she vastly prefers they be physically belligerent and violent. So when he takes off, Katsumi lets the tension visibly slack from her shoulders, staring after him with an annoyed, half-lidded gaze.

It's the bump to her chest that pulls her attention to the other female. "Ugh, right? Everyone loves an idol, but they love seeing an idol break even more. The Germans have a word for it. I don't remember what that word is, but it's German, so... prob'ly sounds pissed off when you say it."

Despite the tension still clear in Mic's demeanor, Katsumi gives her a simple, even pretty smile when the recognition starts to spark. "Yeeaah~?," she drawls coyly. "C'mon, ya gotta recognize me. I've been around a while! Sort'a. I mean," she pauses, those vibrant emerald eyes trailing sidelong, "I went on this training hiatus for a good while to up my game, and sorta had this whole, um..." She pauses, gloved hand moving to brush along the back of her neck, "...makeover... before I came back. But still!" Indeed, she looks quite different from her debut in the federation; embarrassed as she is to admit she's enjoyed the reactions.

She leans in just a hint, leveling emerald eyes to peridots.

"I'm Oshiro Katsumi! The Punk Princess!" Leaning back again, she folds her arms behind her neck in a deliberately theatric, smug pin-up pose, her head turned just a smidge, gaze hooded at her. "Technically a rival in the ring, y'know."

Mic would watch Katsumi as she spoke, becoming more confused during that time, finding it even harder to place exactly who she was. Eventually, she shrugged during it, signaling that nothing she was saying was helping her make the connection. Mic Chick had gathered she was a wrestler, but there were way too many of them, and she didn't exactly have a lot of time and mental bandwidth to learn all of them. But eventually, Katsumi outright told her who she was, and Mic's face lit up on the realization. She did know of her.

"Ooooh, right! Katsumi! Nah, I've seen you. I always dug the vibe, the gear, the deal," said Mic Chick, seeming like she was saying it in earnest. She put a hand on Kat's shoulder, giving it a squeeze. "I heard you play music too--that's why I know you. Haven't heard you before, but hopefully soon."

The Rocker shrugged a shoulder and added, "Good to meet you though. Call me Mickie--skip the stage name." Mic seemed to be relaxing a little bit more, giving Katsumi a warm, friendly smile. It was good to meet someone on her same level in terms of wrestling career--a pleasant surprise. She normally didn't ever branch out or meet new wrestlers, for a myriad of reasons. But her interaction with Katsumi just now already made a lot of her concerns go away.

The sweet summer child. What horrors of being party to Katsumi shenanigans await. But insofar, this way that they've met is likely a best case scenario - going both ways. If there's one thing Katsumi loves, it's recognition. And if there's one thing Katsumi's not used to, it's warmth. So when she's met with both, it softens the girl's smile.

"Mickie," she repeats. "Like the mouse."

Believe it or not, that wasn't teasing. That was Katsumi's genuine way of crediting the name to memory. Teasing will come later. For now, she's touched that she's been given Mic Chick's actual name to use, like a point of familiarity.

"We'll jam sometime," she nods. "But, hey, wait. First up." She steps around to square herself to Mickie, her head canting to look her over. She looked taller on stage, but now that she can see her directly, she recognizes they're actually the same height. She's a trim girl, surprisingly well-built and likely a bit heavier than her, but not at all bulky. Just well put-together. She rocks the look well, knows how to showcase the body just enough without going too far like so many cheap idols. The kind of clothes she likes to wear for performance is similar, in fact. And back up to the face - sharp eyes and pretty features, short hair appropriately of a rocker variety without going too boyish for her taste. She starts to consider it similar to how she used to wear hers, but let's be real - her hair used to be choppy in a devil-may-care kind of way before the makeover and she grew it out. But Mickie's an attractive chick, even when a little tense and winded. Actually, that might make her more attractive.

The evaluating look began as a means of checking her condition and turned into more, well, checking her out. But she brings it back to the start by quickly asking, "You alright? He didn't go all grabby-hands at'cha, did he?"

Mickie let out a snort and a laugh, nodding when Katsumi had equated her name with Mickey Mouse. She looked amused and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, didn't make the cut for House of Mouse though," she said, waving a hand. She joked, although the aspiration may have been there at one point.

But then Katsumi was in front of her, looking her over. And those eyes lingered, on her, which wasn't terribly uncommon. She was moderately famous, so people usually liked to see her authentically in person when they could. But she could tell that gaze was a little bit more than that. Her fellow wrestling rocket was checking her out. A smirk appeared on Mic Chick's face, flattered by it. It also wasn't uncommon, because she knew she was quite a looker. Fortunately, Katsumi was as well.

Moreover, it seemed like Katsumi was genuinely caring about her well-being too, which made Mickie's expression soften as she nodded. "Bitch, I'm good," stated the performer in a good-natured tone. "If he had, you'd be helping me bury a body right now!" She made the joke to try and get past this worrying phase. There wasn't a sense in it any longer--no need for this creep to be ruining her night.

Speaking of not ruining her night, Mickie would then give Katsumi an up-nod. "Hey, what are you doing the rest of the night?" asked Mic Chick, obviously proposing a hang out of some nature. If Kat was available, at least.

"Too many Mickies. Confusing the kidlets," Katsumi says.

And then there's a laugh; bright and carefree. "Bitch, if there was a body, I'd be buying you acid! You're American, aren't'cha? Haven't you seen Breaking Bad?" Katsumi's familiarity with Americana may come as surprising to most, given she's clearly Japanese. But that little mystery will have to be solved later. Because the following prompt gets a curious look from her, a mild tilt of her head.

"I'unno. I thought I'd come to a concert and try to chill. I'm free now, though. What'cha thinkin', songbird?," she asks, the nickname rolling off her tongue with little to not hesitation or second-guess. Her hands prop against her back, elbows bowed out. "Hungry? Karaoke? Nah, you're probably all sung-out at this point."

Mickie was amused by the Breaking Bad reference. Naturally, she had seen it before. Who hadn't. She figured it was popular enough to have made rounds in Japan as well. But at least Katsumi had a sense of humor--she liked that. She knew she'd like spending more time with this chick.

The dirty blonde's smile grew when she knew that Katsumi was free, and even moreso at the little nickname she gave her, and she looked thoughtful, considering her options. But first, she leveled a rather frank look at Katsumi and said, "I ain't singing for anyone unless I'm getting paid, so fuck karaoke. Got too valuable of pipes to let it rip for free." Mickie was only half joking there--she did know the value of her voice.

But then she went wide-eyed, saying in a belabored tone, "But I'm fucking huuuuuuungry." Putting a hand on her toned belly, she would add, "Got any places you recommend? Because I worked up an appetite tonight."

"Not even just for fun?," Katsumi asks, her head tilting a little at Mickie in a decidedly feline fashion. It's a sincere question, backed with nothing but curiosity. Katsumi enjoys karaoke well enough, herself!

Naturally, when Mickie pats her belly, Katsumi's gaze dips to the girl's bare midsection. Admittedly, Katsumi's a girl who likes midriffs. It lingers a moment or two longer than she intended before suddenly, self-aware, zipping her gaze back to her face. "Well, uh... there's a few places! There's an all-night noodle place I know. And another that does this thing with ramen and side dishes, but I don't think it's an all-nighter. Or we can hit something American, like a KFC or Burger.. uh.. I can't remember. Burger Place."

A smile tugs at the corner of her lips again, and the punkette lifts a fist to lightly nudge at Mickie's shoulder. "What'cha in the mood for? I'll pay. And make that dude crazy jealous for takin' Mic Chick out for dinner."
