A Redhead Feeling Blue

"Heh. If I say no are you going to jump on me again?" Erin replied with a chuckle as she lightly shoved Blaise before brushing a bit of hair away from her face. She thought about the question for a second before finally giving an answer. "Well I don't know." She said with a sigh. "But at least I'm...well...y'know...not a lump of shit for the moment." The redhead continued. She might have been a bit hard on herself but she had few other words to describe herself from a few moments ago.

"Soooo...yeah." Erin began to trail off, her way with words on full display. She took a deep breath before continuing. Both explaining herself and refraining from taking any more jabs at Blaise seemed to be a draining task for the redhead. "Thanks for cheering me up a bit. I probably would have been with that punching bag for a while."

Blaise squints at her critically. She doesn't know? She doesn't know? He looks very dissatisfied with her response, and moreso as she continues to explain - in her own way. It may well look like he's going to jump on her again, after all!

Which he does!

Sort of.

Blaise pounces forward, but not to bowl the girl over. Instead, his arms attempt to wrap around her waist to tug her in for a warm, non-painful, but determinedly affectionate hug. His head even tilts to lightly cuddle at hers. "Not good enough. I know being out here in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by people who don't even speak your language, can make ya feel completely isolated, but'cha got me to vent at whenever you need to. Punching bags need not apply. Kay?"

Erin was only joking when she made her first comment. She wasn't expecting Blaise to make another move. For a second she froze until she realized what he was actually doing. While unexpected, Erin was not one to turn down a hug and in fact quite welcomed it. The redhead wrapped her arms around Blaise and would squeeze him tight, resting her chin on his shoulder. Sure Erin usually liked to act like nothing could ever phase her, but that was obviously not the case today where there had been few things she needed more than a hug.

After a few seconds, Erin agreed with Blaise."Mm...Mhhmm. And...and I won't even punch you much." She started to say. Her voice was a little shaky but before long she composed herself before continuing. "That's a promise. Kay?" She finally said.

Blaise is in no rush to release her. It's not even for the fact that the two are wearing skimpy clothes and she happens to be attractive. This is purely for her emotional benefit. He even adds a gentle squeeze to the mix, not trying to match or exceed her own smush. "Shh, shh," he coos. "Don't make promises you won't keep."

He can still tease her, albeit fondly and without bite.

He's present and available for her, either way, and that little quaver to her voice didn't go unnoticed. He remains latched and hugged to her, giving her every opportunity to work through whatever regrets and loathing she may be trying to bury.

Even if the teen wanted o move, Erin wouldn't let him. Luckily for her though Blaise wa more than willing to humor her for a while. She wasn't completely off the hook though and all of her previous teasing was slowly given back to her. The redhead would give Blaise a little shove back before sending a firm punch to his shoulder, already breaking his promise. "Sh...shut up you big...DUMB!" Erin yelled. Despite her initial reaction, she had to hand it to Blaise. The comment had certainly made her smile and she was reluctantly grinning.

"I swear some times I don't know if I should punch you or hit you." She said with a shake of her head. The redhead thought about it for a moment before correcting herself. "Errrrm...Punch you or hug you." Erin corrected with a giggle. "But I guess I promised to go easy on one of those...I must be really out of it today." The redhead concluded with a stronger smile than she had on before.

Snickering as he's punched, Blaise just lets his arms drop to his sides once she disengages. "There's a time'n place for punches, and that's usually in the ring. Or on a beach somewhere, but only if it's.. like.. rough-sexy stuff, or a beach match, or.. whatever. You get what I'm saying." He clears his throat. "Yes. You're really out of it today."

He nods assuredly.

"But that's why you've got me. And if you wanna talk about anything, I'm right here. Don't miss the opportunity!," he invites, arms raising to either side.

"Oh, so that's what you're after huh? Didn't think that's what you were into but I don't judge." Erin started to tease, sticking her tongue out at Blaise. For the moment she was mostly back to normal. The redhead would soon sigh before responding again. "Yeahhhh...I almost even let you get one over on me." She continued. She doubted the teen would have been the type to not let her live it down though if it had happened. He just seemed too nice for that, especially after today.

With Blaise's arms raised, Erin really couldn't help herself and had no choice but to go in for another hug. "Fine. I won't. Just don't go telling anyone I got all teary eyed and stuff or I'm not gonna keep my no punching promise." She responded, currently wrapping her arms tightly around Blaise.

Blaise receives her in the hug, head tilting to nudge against the side of her head. This isn't so bad; it's a side of Erin he originally didn't think existed. Not just because she's a rough and tumble gal, he likes that. It's more the attitude. Perhaps more the attitude towards him. But this is nice. He's not having to worry about trying to get one over on her, or play on the defensive. Doesn't mean he won't tease a little, but his version of teasing and hers seem quite different!

"Don't pretend. You know you get down like that," he murmurs to her, playfully coy.

His arms tighten around her; not to constrict, but more a point of reassurance. "Pfeh," he gently scoffs to her ear. "Who'd even believe me?"

It wasn't too long before Erin took a step back. She quickly glanced upwards as she thought. "Hmmm...Maybe? Plenty of people here are like that. I mean it IS pretty fun kicking your butt." Erin replied and briefly stuck her tongue out at Blaise. She of course wasn't like that but it couldn't hurt to make the teen wonder. Now that she felt quite a bit more cheerful she wasn't going to let him tease her and come out unscathed.

"But yeah, prolly no one would believe you cause you'd be a dead man." Erin teased before continuing. "Which ya know...would be hard to do since I promised not to punch you. That's like 70 percent of what I know how to do." She said with a hearty laugh after realizing that her statement wasn't terribly far from the truth.

It did indeed make the teen wonder. Blaise's head turns a little, squinting suspiciously at the Irish girl whose face had once again assumed what he felt was a smug look. But he doesn't push it. She's back to teasing him. He exhales a gentle sigh and bobs his bare shoulders in a shrug. "Yeah, yeah..."

It's starting to sound like business as usual again. He enjoyed that brief moment of a seemingly vulnerable Erin, but there's a satisfaction in restoring her to herself. It comes at the cost of his dignity, but that's okay. He isn't sure he could call her good people, but she's his people, and that counts for something.

"Well, I'll let'cha get back to your thing. Got a workout to do," he excuses.
