Cat and Turtle: Catalina Vicente vs Akari Ito

Everything was hurting for Catalina. The muscles in her arms and legs burned and felt like they would snap at any moment, her lungs burned to the point she might breathe fire, and her head was pounding to the point it may split open. Now there was a quick and seamless way to end this and let her body rest, that being to lay down and let Akari finish her. If she did things like that though, then Cat didn't think she'd be able to forgive herself. Not when she had promised to give Akari everything she had and then some. Using that resolve to its max as well as her quick thinking and even quicker feet Cat had managed to not only get free of Akari's submission but reverse it with a dragon screw! Ending up on her back as a result and panting Cat would turn herself over and pull herself up to her knees, crawling over to where Akari was trying to do the same, one of her fists clenching as she approached. "Haghhh!" Cat roared out, swinging her arm forward to slam into Akari's jaw!

Akari tried to position herself upright. Her body felt on fire, all her muscles quaking and aching as she pushed herself to move. Every inch she moved took more and more out of her. When she got to her knees, a sudden Forearm Strike found its mark, nailing the Japanese woman upside her head and leaving her dazed. Akari fell backward, drooling and disoriented, jaw now scorching with pain as her nearly lifeless body heaved up and down, the entire arena shaking around her in one continuously blurred motion. She felt like she was about to vomit with how sickly and dizzy she was become, unable to lift herself back up again at the moment...

Catalina huffed and puffed tiredly, sweat dripping down from her body in buckets, her hair sticking to her forehead but her vision wasn't obstructed in the slightest. Instead her gaze was hyper fixated on the woman before her, wanting more than to claim victory in this pitched battle of dominance. "Ngh..." Groaning slightly as she pushed herself to her feet despite the agonizingly painful feelings it took to get there Cat would take a few, weak yet solid steps forward. "Almost there... Almost... there.." The luchadora said to herself as she approached, as if to keep herself motivated as she bent down, grabbing onto Akari's hair to drag the woman up and force her to her feet. All for the sake of finally ending this bout.

"This... is... It." Catalina said softly, once she finally had Akari to her feet in a volume so low only her opponent could hear. Once done though Cat would turn, letting Akari stay up, hopefully under own power as she turned and used the last of her energy to run at the ropes, trying to build momentum as she leapt up at the ropes, grabbing the top to swing herself around outside the ring in a feat of gymnastic skill that was only made greater given the state Catalina was in! But it would build even more hype for the fans though since they knew what this meant, it was the set up for her signature move, the Lanza Cohete where Cat would come back at Akari, spinning on her heel to try and connect with the possibly match ending move!

Akari's heartbeat thumped so loudly the raven-haired woman could hear each brutally overwhelming -BA BUMP- in her eardrums. Although, it was thanks to the aggressive pounding of her heart that kept her awake...blood pumping through her veins, adrenaline rushing through her aching body as she drew in a big gasp of air, lifted to her feet by her opponent, and propped up, being prepared for the finishing blow!!! However, with one last burst of energy coursing through her, Akari found the wherewithal to attempt one final play to save the match in her favor. The fired-up Sea Turtle was determined to end this match the same way she started...firing off on all cylinders, one hundred and TEN percent!!!

Once Catalina rebounds toward her, Akari drops low, diving beneath the woman's sudden kick as it whizzes over the top of her skull, glancing off the Turtle's dome as she staggers, nearly buckling toward the end. However, with one last push, Akari rises to her feet, letting the adrenaline and her ceaseless passion carry her forward!!! She swings her leg up to catch Catalina while she was recovering from her spin, aiming to send her foot CRASHING upside the Argentinian woman's head with a devastating Roundhouse that, if Catalina were weakened long enough, would be followed up with a tremendous Axe Kick to bring Catalina down to the canvas for good...hopefully...Regardless of the outcome, the shock and exhaustion would overpower Akari's body yet again. The moment the Japanese woman finished her final attack sequence, she would collapse in a heap across the floor...So Akari focused solely on not missing her mark, aiming to leave her stupendous opponent absolutely SHELL-Shocked!!!!

This was it. The end. Catalina had Akari standing now, on wobbly legs granted, but it was more than enough for her. Turning and dashing at the ropes and leaping through them Cat would run back at Akari with speed like the win, intending to end this hard fought, exhausting match with a bang! As she neared something was off, turning on her heel and sending her leg spinning Cat hit nothing but air! Eyes widening in shock she nearly fell over from the amount of momentum she had and nothing to release it. Instead she managed to remain standing, albeit barely and looked up... Just in time for her face to meet with Akari's foot's smacking into her jaw.

"UGHHH!" Yelling out in pain from the blow Catalina would be near blown away, sent into a fully spin from the blow before dropping down onto her hands and knees before Akari.. Prime for a second, brutal axe kick connecting with the back of her head and sending her crashing into the mat with her arms and legs spread to the side looking near lifeless on the mat from the force of Akari's dazzling finisher! Meanwhile the crowd was going positively wild in the wake of the action, unable to believe the sudden shift in dynamic that just happened with Akari taking the lead with a surprising counter into her own finisher and with both women now down on the mat it was anyone's guess as to who could win!

Catalina was down...but so was Akari...after a brilliant last-ditch effort to counter Catalina's kick with not one but TWO of her own, Akari managed to turn the tables. But with both women pushed past their limits, bodies exhausted beyond comprehension, the fight had turned from a high-octane battle of speed and stamina to a snail's pace race to the finish line...With one final gasp of air, Akari rolls herself over to cover Catalina. The Sea Turtle could hardly keep the woman's shoulders down to the mat, her body being used as dead weight as her only line of defense against any measure of resistance from the Argentinian woman. If she couldn't stop Catalina here...it might as well be over for the Sea Turtle. Her vision faded in and out...she was beginning to lose consciousness as the task of breathing became strenuous, Akari gasping over and over in a desperate manner as she hoped and pleaded silently for the referee to make the count before it was too late!!!

Despite giving it everything she had and then some, and coming oh so close as a result, Catalina hadn't quite been able to put away Akari. Just as she neared doing so the Sea Turtle was able to pull out one last stop that caught Catalina flush and sent her down to the mat, her eyes half lidded and a small line drool coming from her mouth as she laid on the mat. 'Damn...' Catalina thought as reality faded in and out around her, the world darkening then brightening in intermittent strobes that made her head hurt. Despite this though she was keenly aware of one thing. Being rolled over onto her back with the weight of her opponent dropping on top of her in a relatively sloppy pin that, given the circumstances of each woman's current state, was relatively forgivable. Despite the sloppy nature of it though, to Catalina it felt like the weight of the world came down upon her, and the temptation to give into this weight, to the exhaustion gripping her body was immense, but despite the desire.. there was still a fierce determination burning inside of her. After all she had promised to give her hundred and ten percent... and so far she was only at a hundred...

"ONE!"

"TWO!!"

"THRE-! NO!"

Quite literally a second before the ref's hand hit the mat for the final count Catalina thrusted her body upwards, thrusting her arm up simultaneously, managing to force Akari off of her and in doing so send the crowd into an absolute frenzy!

One moment longer...One BRIEF moment longer was Akari needed to settle this. However, she wouldn't be spared the necessary fraction of a second she hoped for...With a thrust from her thought-to-be defeated foe, the Japanese wrestler is knocked off Catalina's body. Akari tumbles to the side, forcibly turning over on her stomach with a low groan, trying to regain her senses. Her body felt glued to the canvas. She could hardly open her eyes, let raise her head off the ground. She looked toward Catalina, trying desperately to draw in whatever air she could, but-...things seemed to be at their bleakest for the turtle. Despite all odds, the Sea Turtle couldn't get the job done with her finisher...If Catalina still had enough energy to go beyond her limits, then-...what did Akari have left to give? A multitude of scenarios played out within her mind as it raced at a million miles per nanosecond, trying to think of some way to close this match out...her back was against the wall, and her stamina was at an all-time low...was there anything she could do? Was there any hope left for the Sea Turtle?

Barely, just barely did Catalina manage to kick out. It was an almost instinctual reaction as opposed to deliberate, but it was enough to keep her going, at least for now. Too say that the match was hanging by a thread though was an understatement. Both Catalina and Akari were down and out, exhausted, totally drained of energy and unable to do much of anything, panting, sweating, exhausted and beaten. Cat herself felt like she didn't have any air in her lungs and her head was practically pounding in agony from the force of Akari's kicks. Everything hurt, but she wasn't done.. not just yet. Even as she ran on fumes, she still had one possible trick up her sleeve. Gritting her teeth and pushing her hands against the mat, Catalina would slowly, agonizingly push herself up, trying to get her hands under her and get back onto her feet. Turning over to bend over and grab Akari by the straps of her outfit, attempting to pull Akari up to her feet once more. "Do me... a favor... and... stand... " Catalina said breathlessly as she held onto Akari to make sure she would stay standing, needing her too in order to execute her finisher. All she had to do was turn and start to make a run towards the ropes!

Akari...failed...She couldn't get the job done. Her body burned all over from exhaustion and strain. The entire match had worn her down, and the passionate yet foolish Japanese woman was arrogantly insistent on pushing past whatever limits she had. And now-...she was paying the high toll for such naive thoughts. She was about to be pinned, submitted, or beaten down one last time to ensure she wouldn't get back up. Whatever Catalina had in store for her, Akari was incapable of doing anything so long as she was left heaving on the ground, helpless and out of breath. If she could get to her legs, then maybe...Maybe things could go differently...

So it was with great surprise that, by some stroke of luck, Catalina opted to end things differently. The woman would lift the Japanese wrestler to her feet against her wishes, but in truth...this is exactly what the Sea Turtle needed...She just had to take advantage of it. Akari struggled and fought internally, but her body refused any command her mind ordered. She felt like a prisoner within her own body...unable to act, incapable of moving...Was this really the end? After everything, was she going to lose? Defeated by someone else for the simple fact that she ran out of gas? No...No, no, no-no-no-no...NO!!! It couldn't be the end. It shouldn't. It WOULDN'T...What happened next felt like a blur as Akari lunged forward with this bizarrely unhinged motion, wrapping her arms directly around the head and neck of her Argentinian opponent, locking in a Sleeper Hold submission on Catalina as she began to cling against the woman's backside while choking what little life she had out of her. The embers of resistance spawned from her unyielding refusal to accept defeat sparked a new, bright, burning flame within the eyes of the battered and ragged Sea Turtle...in that gaze was a killer, blazing inferno that would not allow herself to be triumphed over. Never before had the Sea Turtle been pushed to such limits, resulting in a risky play like this to achieve her victory...It shocked a few of her fans, keen-eyed spectators who noticed, at that moment, that the Sea Turtle had gone to a depth unseen before to escape the jaws of sheer defeat.

"...I'll do you...one better..." Akari whispered, tightening her grip further as she leaned back, locking in the Sleeper Hold until her legs finally gave in. The Sea Turtle collapses to the floor, falling to the canvas with her hold still locked in, one final gamble to decide everything!!!
