Raquel vs. Ilaria: Lightweight Battle

Raquel had been in a bit of a mood since her last outing, another big match with big consequences just like her lightweight title shot years ago.... and a resounding loss for the red headed wrestler from Boston. Raquel was determined to get back to the top but she knew she had work to do. She was going to wrestle her way back up and beat anyone who tried to get in her way, weight class be damned.

The feisty red head was wearing her blue and white wrestling attire, ready to roll as she walked confidently through the backstage hallways. She soon heard her music playing in the arena and she bound out into the arena jumping around at the top of the ramp as the fans cheered her appearance. Raquel ran her hands through her hair and strut down the ramp, swaying her hips and smacking her own backside before blowing a couple kisses to the fans. She ran at the ring at the end, jumping up onto the apron in one jump then vaulting over the ropes in another leap. Raquel again made sure to shake her hips as she strut around the ring before settling into her corner, eagerly awaiting the arrival of her opponent.

Ilaria didn't rightly know how it happened that she was matched with Raquel for this night. The Italian was taking nothing but losses and not pretty ones since she joined and yet she was paired with a woman who had a genuine shot at the title in the past. Ilaria could hardly be put in the same category, now the question was what kind of opponent would Raquel be, would it be a merciful short affair or would she take her time to pick Ilaria apart piece by piece?

Both options were already familiar to her and though she didn't plan on just rolling over and letting it happen, she also was a realist and her chances looked slim to none. Regardless she would make her way to the stage with all the grace her ballet experience provided, giving the audience a little show on the stage before coming down the ramp and sliding into the ring where she would immediately go to her corner and give a shy wave to her opponent.

Raquel watched Ilaria come down to the ring and while she was smaller she didn't have the build Raquel did. At 117lbs Raquel was very lean and likely one of the strongest lightweights on the large roster. She gave her opponent a small smile and nod when she stepped towards the center of the ring ready to get into action. "All right, lets do this." Raquel said.

As the bell rang Raquel would run right at Ilaria and leap up looking to open up with a running dropkick right to the chest! Raquel was going to go all in and put her foot on the gas looking to full bore into her opponent right from the start!

From the very start, Ilaria's lack of skill and fighter instincts was on full display. Seeing Raquel get into the air, she rose her arms to cover her face and closed her eyes. The drop kick in effect caught her right on target, sending her flying and tumbling toward the ropes. Upon landing she would groan, grabbing her chest and trying to get up with the help of the ropes.

Raquel saw Ilaria using the ropes to climb up to her feet again. Raquel quickly moved in behind Ilaria, grabbing her around the waist. Raquel grunted as she lift up and sent Ilaria crashing down hard to the mat with a release German suplex! Raquel was gunning it right out the gate and eager to get the stink of that Apex finals loss off her. She was trying to be dominant and right now Ilaria was not doing anything to show her otherwise.

Ilaria was still dizzy from the first attack so when he was grabbed the first and only reaction was a gasp. Then she found herself hurdling through the air a fair distance in the direction of the ring center, lending with a thud, her butt up in the air as only her head and shoulders were touching the mat. A pained groan escaped her lips but she remained there.

Ilaria hit the mat with a thud and laid there. Was she already spent? Raquel pulled her up by the arm and stepped towards the ropes whipping her over that way. Raquel thought about trying to hit a hurricanrana as she ran back at her but she head another idea. Raquel would crouch and as soon as Ilaria hit the ropes Raquel would run to her and both women were essentially rushing at one another. Raquel leapt up and swing her legs around looking to hit a flying roundhouse kick to the head! If this connected she was pretty sure that Ilaria would be down and ready for something more high flying...

Ilaria was at this point used to being hit hard and contorted in submission holds but speed like that of Raquel was new. Where she would usually manage to duck, here she was nearly noticing attacks before they struck. And so was this time, being flung to the ropes and bouncing off of them made her panic, her hands went in front of her face but the kick struck the unprotected side of it, putting a sudden stop to her momentum as she crumbled to the floor.

Raquel sent Ilaria packing to the mat in a heap! She pumped a fist and ran to the corner leaping from the canvas to a perched position up top! She looked behind her to make sure Ilaria was still in the same spot before leaping back and spinning through the air! Raquel was sailing through and flying high as she looked to come crashing down on top of Ilaria with a corkscrew body splash from the top rope!

If Raquel was successful she was going to cover Ilaria for a pin, laying across her chest and posing by flexing a bicep, giving it a kiss while she pinned her opponent!

Ilaria's consciousness was already on the edge of dimming completely from the kick she just received. As such, she didn't even notice what Raquel was planning and even if she did, she would not be able to move in time. When the other woman came down on top of her, Ilaria lurched, letting out a short cry of pain before falling still and silent as the referee started the count.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three!"
