Never Trust a Snake: Manami Kubo vs Vesper Donelle

Unread post by Tiamat »

Manami was backstage erratic over her upcoming match. Pacing back and forth like a mad woman, despite how nice she is 99% of the time. Manami is not impervious to pre match jitters. Nothing to worry about. Just a match. A debut match. With so many people watching. Getting a first impression of me. Oh what if they hate me? No I can’t think like that. Just be myself and everything will fall into place, right? Manami told herself in a frantic manner, finally being able to settle on just being herself. Her opponent tonight was Vesper Donelle. The staff were nice enough to give Manami some information before hand. He doesn’t look too mean. That’s a good thing! Maybe he’s actually super nice and we get along perfectly. Manami told herself basically tricking herself into thinking the best intentions from her opponent.

The staff were working tirelessly to work on the ring for this match. Seeing as how the size of both wrestlers were above the average, the ring needed to be touched up to match the wrestlers. Once that was done, Manami was given the okay for her entrance. Time to make a good first impression! Manami said as she pumped her fist reaching the backstage portion, just before the entrance ramp.

LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!! WE HAVE A VERY SPECIAL MATCH FOR YOU TONIGHT. FIRST COMING TO THE RING WE HAVE A WORLD RENOWNED ATHLETE LOOKING TO MAKE HER PRO WRESTLING DEBUT. IF YOU DON’T KNOW, THEN YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT. STANDING IN AT 6’2 AND WEIGHING IN AT 200LBS WE HAVE THE GENTLE HULK. MANAMI KUBO!!!!
Spoiler
The lights would dim gradually into darkness. The people were confused, but knew what was coming. What was going to come from this entrance? Who was going to come out of from this entrance? All of those questions would be answered as two intense lights focused on the entrance ramp. While the lights were off, the ramp and surrounding area was covered in a thick pink fog. As the music was reaching is climax, Manami would finally be seen hidden in the fog. Her silhouette would move in a confusing manner, but in one final and big move. Manami would push both her palms out and clear the fog. Letting everyone finally see her. Admittedly Manami liked being in the smoke since it was hard for her to be seen. The idea was for her to be cool for the entrance. Once the people got a look at a Manami though. All bets were off and a wave of red covered her cheeks. Manami would wave cheerfully as she bowed repeatedly to her newfound fans.

Now it was actually time for her to make it towards the ring. Manami would walk down the entrance, greeting everyone she could. Somehow and someway merchandise of her was already made in the form of mock gold medals. (How did they? When did they?) Manami thought to herself, shaking things off because she doesn’t need to worry about it. Manami would even take the extra time to take photos with the fans that asked. Going forward and finally reaching the ring, Manami would jump onto the apron and go in between the ropes. Not looking to show too much arrogance with how she got into the ring. Now in the ring though, Manami would give a final wave to everyone. Thanking them for supporting her in this match. Now as the final part of her entrance, Manami would finally show off her physique as she flexed in the same routine a Mr.Olympia would do. Ending things off with a safe, soft and modest flex of her bicep.

Vesper Donelle hummed softly as he looked through the images, clips and articles of his opponent on his phone one more time. Apparently she was an olympic level athlete, an impressive feat, and somewhat surprising that she had become a wrestler. Though he suppose he wasn't one to talk. "Well sis, I'd say I really lucked out in terms of debut opponents, getting to beat a gold medalist and all." He said with a chuckle to his sister after tucking the phone away into his bag, the latter of whom was also dressed for action despite not having a match scheduled. 'Presentation.' as Vesper had called it.

Blowing some air out as she pushed off from the wall she leaned on Danica would walk towards her brother. "Only if you win." Danica pointed out, still having faith in her brother but not wanting him to get a big head... Besides she'd be there in case... assistance was needed. Even still her response got a chuckle from the male as he stood up. "Fair enough. Don't worry too much though, she's herculean, but going off her interviews the brain doesn't match. Too bad cause she's pretty fine too, but whatever." He shrugged casually before gesturing to the entrance ramp as Danica silently nodded back. It was time.

"AND HER OPPONENT! STANDING AT 6'2 as well and weighing in at 232 pounds and an IQ of 150, from Seattle, Washington, The Silver Tongued Cobra... Vesperrrrr Donelleeeeee!"
Spoiler
As Vesper's music started up the twins would come out with a bit less theatrics than his opponent, merely opting for some pyro and strobing, purple and green lights, after all the twins were used to the fans, and they both liked to be seen. "Really? You fed them you're iq score for the entrance?" Danica said with a dead pan towards her brother who waved her off after the two finished their team pose. "Considering its an actually impressive feat I figured why not." He boasted with a smile as the two strutted down the ramp, ignoring the fans before Vesper hopped onto the apron and into the ring with Danica staying ringside.

Turning to his opponent Vesper would look her up and down. "Nice ring gear." He'd call out to the girl, and while that could normally be seen as a means of demeaning or objectifying he had an appraising eye and lackadaisical tone that made either seem... less likely. "Fairly conservative but still shows off those well defined muscles and lets you stand out, especially among the sea of standard two pieces. Very nice." He said to her with a wink, the legitimate praise making his low key ogling her even less suspicious, and possibly dropping her guard as he leaned back against the corner prior to the match starting.

Manami after her entrance decided to lean against the turnbuckle as she waited patiently for her opponent. It wasn’t going to be doing her any favors getting worked up before seeing her opponent. The music started up and this told Manami that she was finally going to see Vesper. The announcer would prep themselves as they looked to announce Vesper. Manami keyed in on the announcement to see if she could pull anything from it. (Wait an IQ do 150!?!? Is that high? What’s mine? Well it has to be high if he wants it to be known.) Manami thought to herself, almost losing herself in that process. Vesper’s entrance was much more standard than Manami’s. With him just opting to go with strobing lights and pyro. Still the aesthetic was nice if Manami were to be honest with herself.

Vesper was accompanied by his sister Danica. Manami didn’t think much of it, if anything it was nice to see a brother and sister helping each other out. Before getting into the ring, Manami would wonder how to go forward from here (What’s the proper etiquette here? Do I wave? Greet him? Well here goes) Manami thought to herself on how to proceed form here. So just as Vesper entered the ring, Manami would wave at him energetically, wearing that same infectious smile she always had.

Finally Vesper and Manami were able to speak to each other. Vesper was the first to get a word out, complimenting Manami on her ring gear. Going forward and doubling down as he called Manami’s ring gear unique. Manami would blush to this compliment, not that she felt romantic feelings towards Vesper. It was mainly the compliment that made her blush. Manami blushed and bowed profusely, Thank you for the compliment! I had hoped to make a good impression. Manami responded as she perked back up and smiled at her opponent. Not wanting to start things off on the wrong foot, Manami chose to be kind and ready. Manami finished by getting into a good and foundational grappling stance. Not wanting to be caught flat footed.

'Hook like and sinker.' Vesper thought to himself seeing the mild blush on his foe's face along with her response to him. If nothing else it would at least serve to partially lower her guard by being friendly at first which would give him an edge, so he'd keep the act up for now. "Well consider that hope achieved than." He said in a affable tone with a smile before entering a low grappling stance similar to his opponent's own upon seeing her get into hers.

Meanwhile from the outside Danica would roll her eyes at her brothers flirtations. It wasn't that she didn't see the logic behind them or anything, it was just so damn cringe worthy to her. Only reason she didn't make a fuss about it was cause they usually worked. Honestly though what Danica was more focused on was his opponent. 'She's ripped...' Danica thought to herself with a frown, knowing her brother was strong, but especially knowing he wasn't strong enough to contend with a literal hulk. "You'd better have a plan brother.." Danica said under her breath as the bell rang officially starting the match.

Manami never considered herself a genius, but not an idiot either. Still whatever mind games Vesper was playing with Manami went over her head. Be it a good thing or bad. Manami was also never someone to not thank people for compliments her way. So unbeknownst to her she was falling right into Vesper’s hooks. Hopefully this would not amount to much for Manami’s sake.

Getting back into her focus, Manami was already in her stance waiting for the bell to ring. Manami would glance over to Danica, before looking back at Vesper. (Do I need to worry about Danica? No, why should I? If Danica does anything Vesper would lose because of it) Manami thought to herself as she put the worry of Danica interfering away.

True to her seemingly timid nature. Manami could’ve easily come out the gate swinging, but instead she chose to come out slow. This would make things easier for her to follow, along with making it simple. Manami had hoped she could get her hands on Vesper with little pushback. Realistically though she put up her hands almost inviting her opponent to a power struggle.

Vesper smirked softly as he saw the reaction Manami had to his words. 'Perfect.' He thought to himself with a grin, already knowing his plan was taking effect to at least a degree as the bell rang, officially starting the match and prompting the two to circle each other.

As they did so Vesper spotted Manami put her hands up in preparation, seemingly even wanting him to take her up in a contest. 'I ain't a idiot.' Vesper thought to himself, as he approached, seemingly about to lock up with the woman..

Only to duck low and swivel behind the pink haired woman! If that worked than Vesper would move in looking to wrap his arms under her own in a full nelson. If the hold had been locked successfully he would pull back, intending on driving Manami into the mat with a snap dragon suplex!

Manami wasn’t a veteran to wrestling just yet. So at least she would want to start things off nice and slow. Plenty of matches start slow with a lock up. So Manami figured it would be safe to do the same here. Only issue in this case was that Vesper was not going to be singing to Manami’s tune. Instead of taking the invitation from Manami, Vesper darted around Manami to get behind her. Quickly latching onto her arms and pulling them back into a full nelson. Ngh! Manami grunted as she looked to get out of this hold.

Sure Manami wasn’t the fastest around, but speed hardly matters when your opponent is so close to you. If Manami couldn’t use her hands, she would have to think outside the box. Manami would snap her head back and headbutt Vesper in the nose. Hoping that this would at least be enough to stagger him, at best he would let go of Manami. If this worked Manami would clamp onto one of Vesper’s arm, leaning forward quickly, essentially trying to flip Vesper forward over her! If completed, Manami wouldn’t let things end here. Quickly moving to try and flip her own large body forward. Attempting to do a leg drop onto Vesper’s neck!

Vesper smirked softly as his opening gambit paid off and he managed to get behind Manami relatively easily and catch her in a full nelson hold nice and snugly. Smirking softly as he pulled back to hit the suplex however he'd run into a problem. Namely Manami managed to throw her weight forward to keep from getting pulled. Worse yet she swung her head back, driving it into his chin!

"Ngh!" He groaned out in pain as he released her and staggered back, only for Manami to grab hold of his wrist to flip him over her! "Oof!" He grunted out before looking up to see her flipping forward right to him! 'Oh shit!' He thought to himself before curling himself and rolling forward himself to avoid Manami! If he did so successfully than he would pop to his feet and turn right back to his opponent... and leap up to try and land a standing drop kick right into her chest while she was seated on the mat!

Vesper was already proving to be a difficult opponent for Manami, already he was looking to shy away from what Manami wanted. This would essentially move things out of her wheel house and make things harder for her. Luckily for Manami, Vesper still needed to get in close to get anything done. Despite having the leverage in the full Nelson, Manami was able to power through it. The headbutt going a long way in helping also, this just let Manami turn Vesper’s attack on its head now giving her the advantage.

Flipping over Vesper was just the first part, ideally with him on the ground it would make things so much easier. At least now he couldn’t run away and at least needed to deal with Manami. That being said Manami may have chosen the wrong move when it came to her follow up. While it was impressive for someone of her physique to be doing flips, speed was still not her strong suit. Something Vesper used to his advantage as her rolled out of the way, dodging the leg drop. Agh.. Manami groaned in pain as she held the bottom part of her leg, from missing. Adding onto to this injury, Vesper spring back up and nailed Manami in her ample chest with a dropkick! Completely laying out the Olympic wrestler as she held her chest in pain.
