Domino vs. Gabby Soto: Matters of Interpretation

Whew, okay. No disastrous opening. Where Gabby had learned the trade of wrestling back in the States, she had always put her emphasis on that. She would rarely be the biggest or fastest competitor in the ring, and while she had athleticism, her own sister was an example of someone with more natural physical gifts. But if Gabby could keep things even, use her brain, rely on smart movement and her other best skills, she knew she could even her odds, even against a bigger guy who would obviously be stronger. Even if Domino still had a grip on her, she wasn't outright losing the exchange even after his getting a step on her.

And he was complimenting her on it, too. "You learn from bad dance partners," she quickly answered, in between sounds of struggle. Analyzing her success didn't matter now, however, and Gabby shook it off. She needed to stop doing all that thinking when action was needed. And considering she was left in the air with her feet kicking as he lifted her, she really needed to stick to the action portion right now. Gabby clenched her teeth and tried to make herself into the world's greatest weight, and at the same time she threw her elbows down. Between that reaction and the butt-shield she had going to keep from getting pulled fully against him, Gabby felt his grip slacken.

She reacted as quickly as she could, opting to make her escape through the cellar door. While sucking in her nonexistent girth, Gabby jabbed both hands and forearms between his arms and her waist and thrust herself downward, squirting out to freedom. Once there, she planted both hands on the floor so she could swing her body around, and her leg shot out at the end of that swing in an attempt to sweep his legs out from beneath him.

Bad dance partners? Domino would've loved to linger on that statement, toy around with some wordplay. She's clever! Quick on her feet! But as the struggle for early dominance intensified, he opted instead to keep his focus on wrestling her down and securing a strong lead. He manages to heft her, but those bony elbows! They give her just the opening she might need, and she slips clean from his arms.

His immediate instinct is to lean forward, grabbing for her downed form. He manages one half-step before her leg is kicking out with surprising force, disrupting his balance and sending him crashing flat to his back in surprise. It won't be a large window of opportunity for Gabby, but when his back hits the mat, it comes with a sudden arch inwards, presenting abdominals and pectorals to the radiant overhead lights with a silent wince on his face, one arm hooking behind his back in soothe.

Gabby could almost feel the air from his sweeping attempt at grasping her before she fully escaped. Might have even clipped her ponytail, and being overly attentive about her appearance in public, she had to resist the urge to make sure it was still tied in place. But nope, that seemed very unwise, and she made the precisely opposite decision to go on the offensive while he was off-balance. She really got the whole balance thing after spending so many years in dance and gymnastics, and it just made sense to her that an opponent on the ground had the disadvantage.

With the way her foot collided perfectly with his lower legs, she had toppled a Domino. She watched him land hard on his back, and she knew that he wouldn't just pop up from that landing. His shin might have hurt from the kick, too. The half-Latin beauty was already moving to act on her advantage by the time he reeled to rub at his back, and she made a quick decision. Her frame was slighter than the average wrestler's, yes, but she could still do a lot if she dropped it on him while he was attending to his sore back.

She attempted to do just that. As his abs lifted from the canvas, she moved from her crouch into a brief half-handstand and whipped her lower half around until she could drop both legs on his midsection, putting Pen to Paper.

Domino wasn't going to stay down for long, either! There's a certain advantage one tends to only gain from years of involvement in professional wrestling: toughness. Mental toughness can be a part of it, sure. But we're talking about the kind of toughness that comes from being whacked repeatedly, suffering repetitious impacts - stress and strain causing muscle and bone to harden.

All this to say, it's too early in the match for Domino to stay down long. He's recoiling from the hit, but he's still got his wits about him. That said, it amounts to a hill of beans. Because the moment Gabby has up-ended herself in a rather artistic display of agility, he's paused to observe. Which doesn't really do him any favors in the short term, for obvious reason.

"Gghh!"

Her legs collide across his midsection, the hardened, sleek abdominals clenched against the blunt force. He curls inwards before flopping back, gasping to try to force the sudden burning ache to subside!

She totally caught him watching.

That felt almost as good as successfully whipping her legs around until they collided with his abs. Considering how badly Gabby wanted to get people, any people, watching and impressed with her, having her opponent lapse for a moment to do so really did wonders for her. Drawing her legs back after her blow landed (and discovering those abs were nothing to be trifled with), Gabby allowed herself a moment to sneak a sly grin to herself and chew her lower lip before she moved back into action against the ailing man on the ground before her.

She had some options, and one in particular popped into her head. Frankly, she wished he was on his stomach instead of his back, but she would take what she could get. God knew she wasn't going to try to turn him over; arm strength wasn't her thing. After a moment's scramble, Gabby scooted and slid nimbly, looking like the former floor gymnast she had been with the way she maneuvered with grace and skill, and she threw her legs out once she had come to rest at his shoulders. One thigh she tried to slip under his head and one over so she could nab him in a side headscissor.

Domino would be so glad his lapse in judgment lead to her feeling good about herself. So glad that the thump of her strong legs against his unprotected midsection left him breathless and vulnerable on the mat. Super glad, you guys! Not at all writhing and berating himself for not pulling away to the side, at least to minimize the impact! Or folding arms in the way to block it! No, he's fine! Don't even sweat it, boo!

These bitterberries are brought to you by a mixture of regret, embarrassment, pain. It's communicated in a breathless groan.

As he recuperates, he feels his head being lifted. He tries to pull away, but too little, too late before the inviting warmth of smooth skin suddenly engulfs his head. Aching, sure, but there are worse positions to be in, he'd think. Gabby's an awfully pretty girl, athletic, cute as a button, and even classy, it seems like! The feel of her thighs isn't altogether unwelcome! But when the pressure begins, so too does his resistance. "Nngh-!" Hands grab for the thigh in front, pulling to try to manually wrench her legs apart to pop his head free. No time for quips, no time for wit! Just a sudden strength-based contest to overcome the hold the girl is applying!
