Geun Haru vs. "Tigress" Tina Armstrong

Tina was wearing her two piece tiger print wrestling attire strutting through the backstage hallways of the arena getting ready for action. She was up against a rising MMA based battler named Geun tonight. Tina knew her stock wasn't what it used to be. Lots of women called out the former champion to climb the ladder.... and Tina had been losing those matches more than she won recently. She was going to change all that tonight.

The usually happy Tina came out into the ring and had a serious look on her face as she stomped her way down the ramp. None of the usual bouncing around or high fiving fans. She was determined to win tonight. She was part of a tag title match that left her on the shelf recently. Both she and Alaina suffered concussions from that battle and a failed title shot left a really sour taste in her mouth. She didn't want to be seen as the weak link. During their early days she was the anchor of the team, the middleweight champion with the aging veteran coming back into wrestling. Now Tina was the former champion and the 47 year old amazon was surging and winning. Tina didn't want Alaina to tow the line, she wanted to prove she could be a champion again and hall of fame worthy like Alaina was.

Tina took her spot in her corner, crossing her arms and starting intently up that ramp waiting for Geun to make her way down to the ring.

Even before making it to the match, Geun wasn't sure how to feel about it all. On one hand, getting to fight a champion, even a former one was an honour. She didn't think she was around enough to warrant getting that, nor that she would even be considered for such an opportunity. Maybe someone up there, behind all the planning had a different idea but either way, she was going to take it, whatever this chance was meant to be.

Even looking at Tina's entrance broadcast on a tv in the locker room, Geun could feel the tension in the air. She knew that the former champion here had a run of bad luck recently, not that it meant much to Geun herself. She could tell from seeing these matches that they were far from certain in their outcome. Still, she could tell when someone had something to prove, the look in their eyes always betrayed that and even though she wished for no bad blood here, knowing that Tina would give it her all here was exciting all the same.

As a sign of respect, Geun would forgo her usual entrance, getting onto the stage and presenting herself to the crowd for a moment before going down the ramp. climbing the stairs and going between the ropes. She'd move to her corner and give a nod to Tina. Then, when the bell rang, she got to the centre and extended her fist to touch in a rather unconventional manner for wrestling, wanting to show respect.

Well, Tina was pleasantly surprised by Geun. She didn't get some cocky young wrestler running their mouth. Instead Geun was down to business and here to fight. That was a good thing. When Geun stepped up for a fist bump Tina mustered a small smile and returned the gesture. This was going to be good and Tina knew by looking at the body language of Geun that she was in for a hell of a fight tonight.

As the bell rang Tina circled and moved with her arms up. The tigress lunged in to try to grapple with Geun jockeying for position. Tina was going to try to lock in a side headlock then twist her torso to toss Geun to the mat while maintaining the headlock as they landed on the mat. Tina wanted to establish control and keep it but that was easier said than done.

It seemed like Geun's actions decompressed things at least a little, or at least changed the feel of things. It was good, at least both of them will be entering things with a clear mind. For Tina's part, she was quick to prove why she used to hold a belt as she managed to bypass her defences and locked in a headlock, now bringing the battle down to the ground.

Geun tried resisting that at first, making a struggle last for a bit but realising that she was expending more energy than her opponent was, she relented. On the ground, her options were looking better anyway. There she would try to unwrap the other woman's hands from around her head and neck by prying at her grip. If she was successful in that she would try to push Tina down to the mat with her shoulder, keeping a hold of one of her arms and swinging her legs over her torso to attempt an armbar.

Things were starting to unravel, literally, as Geun was working away at Tina's grip! Tina tried to let go but one arm was still held and a hard shoulder hit her torso sending her down to the mat! "Oomph!" Tina groaned as she crashed down. Geun then wrenched down on that arm as Tina let out a yelp of pain as the armbar was locked in! Tina kicked the mat a few times and groaned before reaching over to grab her arm ad pull it back towards her to ease the pain a bit. From there Tina used her legs to push and roll hopefully rolling Geun onto her shoulders to pin her forcing the woman to let go.

Though Geun's initial counter worked, Tina managed to quickly pull her arm back with the help of her other one before forcing a roll, making the pressure on the limb gone as she was left trying to re-establish the hold. "One!" Came the count, making her decide to abandon the idea, letting go of the hand, before curling her legs and attempting to force Tina back with a kick before rolling back and getting to her feet.

Tina was kicked and stumbled back as she got up, but she managed to steady herself. The tigress closed the gap again with Geun and seemed to telegraph a punch coming in, although when Tina was close enough she tried to hit Geun with a leg sweep to take her down to the canvas instead! Tina was not going to be losing tonight if she could help it.

Tina would try to grab the legs of Geun after the leg sweep hoping to tie them up and intertwine her own in there attempting to lock in a figure four leg lock on the feisty woman! Tina was up for a challenge and knew that if she wrestled smart she could win. However she would need to showcase everything she could do against a good grappler and counter wrestler like Geun.

Tina was certainly not pulling any punches from the start and once more, Geun found herself down on the mat, groaning from a harsh impact. The swiftness with which Tina locked in a figure four was also impressive, sending a white hit needle of pain through her leg. From the very start, it was clear, keeping up with the former champion was no easy task.

However, Geun had one advantage when it came to escaping submissions, hyper flexibility in some of her joints did little to eliminate the pain but it allowed her to move her feet further than they would usually go and allow her to slip them out from under Tina's knee. One of her legs was still between her opponents but that she could use to her advantage, attempting to turn them around and after adjusting Tina's legs, try to execute a muta lock.

Things were quickly going from bad to worse as Tina tried a hold and it backfired entirely! Geun easily escaped and now had Tina stuck in a painful hold! Tina cried out in pain and thrashed about swinging whatever limbs she had back into Geun to strike any way she could, her frustration kicking in and coming out as an enraged flurry of strikes she hoped could hit home and let her escape to freedom. If not then Tina was in even more trouble than she thought.

Geun's counter worked though she did not escape Tina's hold quite without issue, still feeling the splitting pain in her leg. Her newfound control didn't last for long though as one of her opponent's strikes found Geun's neck at just an angle to momentarily construct her windpipe and be forced to let go, rolling to the side as she tried to catch her breath again.
