Or perhaps...it was down to the background of the match at hand. For this was no ordinary opponent Karen was set to face with the stakes so high. Nor was it to be one of her many hated rivals. Hell at this point, she'd of taken an encounter against Kat Hart or Alison Seong over the one she was set to actually face today. At least she had every right - or so she felt - to absolutely go at them with full intent to break them in two. If only because of the history she held with the aforementioned women.
No, today Karen's opponent was a new variety for the amazon in that it was a former friend - perhaps the only one she had within LAW, outside of sparring partners and Silver. Former being the key word, thanks entirely to Karen Starring's own doing.
For Gil's kind nature - her focus on fun over the usual serious, one-track-minded dedication to competition that Karen had become so accustomed to - had drawn the amazon from her usual path. Karen was not a woman who was here to partake in smother fights (despite her build), or bra and pantie encounters, or matches with a spanking focus. And yet, Gil had managed to convince her to partake in all three on the same day in an encounter regardless of its ending left Karen with a sour taste to her mouth. One that made her feel almost, that she was about to be mocked - that she was set to become a woman who wrestled to put on a sexy show whilst having the time of her life entertaining the masses.
Needless to say, such a thing was not Karen Starring's way. She had not spent years within LAW building the reputation she had and enacting what she had upon those she'd deem rivals only for her to now suddenly wrestle before the masses in nothing but her lingerie - with her hands raised with sole intent to spank those before her. Karen was here to hurt people. And win in the process of doing so.
With her mind being focused on the path she had followed to get where she was right this instant, as opposed to where she actively was right now, Karen was in a daze for the entirety of her walk down to the ring. She didn't acknowledge a single reaction given to her from the crowd, be it good or bad. Hell, she couldn't recall a single thing that occurred between the brief moments between her sitting backstage and her now standing dead center of the ring, with the official awkwardly clicking her fingers in front of Karen's face to snap her back to reality.
And the moment she was back in the present, Karen practically fell against her corner rear first. With her eyes to the ramp, as she shot a look lacking in focus towards the entrance ramp...
