Background:
Mostly, dolls are often associated as more for the toddlers and collectors of the world, but Matilda knew she wanted to do something with them after visiting an antique shop with her parents when she was just four years old. They got her dolls, but she wanted a ventriloquist dummy and wanted to start her career early practicing on disguising her voice in order to create significant voices for her puppets. However, her parents were afraid she would get bullied relentlessly and always declined getting her what she asked for. Her grandmother, on the other hand, encouraged Matilda to followed her dreams and had her husband craft Matilda a wooden doll he called Mr. Woodpecker. It was a bird puppet and Matilda loved it! During talent shows in elementary school, Matilda would win first place for her act alone and that convinced her parents that maybe it wasn’t such a bad career for their daughter after all.
Every Christmas, they would get Matilda one doll after the other and she soon had a huge cast of characters for her shows at the libraries, fundraisers, and nursing homes. They included: Odiva, Bentley, Manitoba, Vito, Crafty the Squirrel, and her star attraction, Mr. Woodpecker. Matilda suffered in a bad car accident with her father where she suffered major bruises and her father broke his right leg. They would be alright, but Mr. Woodpecker would sadly be torn to pieces and Matilda felt a piece of her heart break. He was a popular character and had his career end shortly as Matilda had to say goodbye to her prized bird. The show must go on as they say in the business.
Matilda had an uncle named Clark Jacobs that was a hardcore wrestler and would work the Midwest independent scene which got Matilda hooked into the sport. She asked her uncle if there was any way she could incorporate her puppets into her wrestling career and he said the sport had all kinds of crazy gimmicks. While her uncle retired at 53, he did train Matilda in wrestling even if her parents were super against it. Matilda started off in Arkansas incorporating her puppets into her gimmick as her “managers.” She even occasionally tag teamed with them and her and her puppet, Vito, even became mixed tag team champions for one promotion. Matilda found success as the kids loved her and adults found her gimmick cute and entertaining which probed she was onto something.
During her high school days, Matilda made friends with Sarabeth Chummers and they were close. When they and Jessie Alexander started working in Sarabeth’s adoptive father’s promotion, they all became really good friends. Sarabeth even put in a good word for Matilda and the young puppeteer follows her friends to Japan to be apart of LAW’s Young Lioness Program. Matilda hoped a different audience will help expand her career and bring more eyes to her puppets.
Personality:
For the most part, Matilda is chill and very friendly once you look past her creativity with her puppets. She likes to have her puppets with her to “help” her train for her matches or even in social interactions. Matilda has her quirks and can come off as weird or crazy, but she’s just having her own fun. She tends to get lost in character for her puppets and it takes another person to catch her out of the act. Overall, friendly and fun, but very creative to say the least.
Wrestling Style:
Using her expertise in puppetry, Matilda likes to wrestle a copycat style and often uses it to perform mind games with her opponents. If they hit her with a few successful moves, she’ll remember those moves and use them against her opponents later on in the match. Matilda also throws her voice to throw her opponents off their guard and make them think she is somewhere else. Besides all that, Matilda just uses the training her uncle provided her and mostly uses aerial and power moves. She will occasionally fight dirty if it benefits her, but mostly goes by the rules.
Preferred Matches:
Matilda is still learning the ropes and has less experience in most matches besides singles and tag team. She’s up for anything as long as her puppets can be there by her side. Matilda will occasionally be up for leweder matches, but hentai just disgusts her and thinks sexual activity should be kept private. Matilda, however, loves the idea of a smother match as she prides herself on having a decent booty. Matilda is also up for intergender matches against guys and hardcore matches.
Extra Trivia:
-Sarabeth chose her theme song for her, but Matilda is secretly a hater of heavy metal and prefers country.
-Matilda chose the names and gimmicks for her characters based on favorite movies of hers. Odiva (16 Candles), Bentley (Inside Out), Manitoba (Finding Nemo), Vito (Fast and The Furious), and Crafty (Alvin and The Chipmunks).
-Matilda loves retro fashion and often dresses in 50s-80s garb. She got the love from her grandmother telling her stories of her mother’s teen years.
-Matilda was apart of her theater club in high school and often got her puppets roles in a few productions.
-Matilda is also a gifted singer.
-Like Jessie, Matilda loves steampunk stuff and bonded with Jessie over it.
