LAW Apex Match: Lyra Heartfield vs. Peggy McIntyre

[Pegasus]

Lyra spun her arms and screamed out a battle cry hitting Peggy with her right fist sending the Irish lass down on her back! The crowd cheered her on and chants of “LYRA!” rang out all around the arena as she threw up peace signs towards her fans. Lyra grabbed a leg of Peggy’s starting to kick it repeatedly hoping to keep Peggy from countering. Lyra then crossed over the leg and started tying up both pair of legs together as Lyra locked Peggy in the old school Figure Four Leg Lock! The fortune wrenched the legs from side to side as she smiled clamping down on Peggy’s legs!

Peggy groaned and was howling as Lyra was shocking her and having her way with her! The crowd loved it and Peggy had given up on ever being a fan favorite at any point. Face, heel... she got booed and had her opponent cheered more often than not. Peggy let out a howl of pain and frustration as she was locked in the hold, rolling hard to the side. She knew rolling them over would reverse the pressure and put it right back on Lyra so that is what Peggy would do!

Lyra wrenched as hard as she could on the legs of Peggy as the Irish lass had nowhere to run off to. However, it wasn’t a hard hold to counter as Peggy proved resilient and flipped both girls over. However, Lyra could make the most of this predicament. She placed her hands firmly on the mat and pushed on them to stand up catching Peggy’s legs. She effortlessly transformed a reverse Figure Four into her finisher, The Orion Lock (Sharpshooter)! The crowd popped for this, but they also wondered if Peggy could escape another submission in a row.

This was not going well at all. Peggy had reversed this hold before and usually the other wrestler was trapped in in pain until they reversed it again or got a rope break. However Lyra was able to casually escape and effortlessly lock Peggy into a sharpshooter which was proving incredibly painful as she was in the dead center of the ring! Peggy screamed and thrashed about unable to escape as the pain was quickly mounting with the Irish wrestler struggling to think of a way out. She thought she was a solid technical wrestler but that was proving not to be the case as Lyra was quickly embarrassing Peggy after taking control of the match.

Lyra had her finisher locked in, but it felt a little lackluster as while she may have put on the pain, her neck still bothered her from the headscissors. She tried rolling her neck, but she groaned as that made the dull pain worse. While Lyra didn’t want to let go, she found herself loosening her grip unintentionally. She would try to hold on as much as she could. Peggy had an open window to escape however and the crowd knew how determined Peggy could get when it mattered the most!

Peggy screamed in pain, clawing and pulling frantically at the mat as she struggled. She felt she was about ready to tap out when she reached out and just made it to the bottom rope! "Rope break! ROPE BREAK! LET GOOOOOOOOOO!" Peggy screamed loudly, some thinking a banshee made it in to the building that Peggys screaming was so loud! She got the rope break, but she had just been trashed and her entire torso was throbbing. Even using the ropes to get to her feet would not be easy...

Lyra almost had this match won and the crowd certainly would’ve been shocked if Lyra had a managed to put down Peggy quite quickly even after her own near loss in those headscissors. However, those headscissors were coming back to haunt her as the dull pain just kept nagging her. Peggy made it to the bottom rope and was screaming for mercy as the referee made Lyra release it. Lyra could capitalize if she wanted to, but her neck was killing her. Both women were down for the moment as the referee saw her cue to count them out.

“1! 2!”

Peggy heard the referee counting and she was shocked that Lyra wasn't pouncing on her. Peggy grunted as she pulled herself up on the ropes climbing back up to her feet slowly while the official kept counting.

"Three!"

"Four!"

Peggy moaned in pain as she stood up and leaned against the ropes, shaking her head while she used this time to recover. She could have stomped over to Lyra but the Irish wrestler had been having it handed to her for the most part so far and she needed the recovery time although she was keeping an eye on Lyra so she didn't just rush in and hammer Peggy once she was on her feet.

“5! 6!” The referee kept the count as Lyra pushed herself to her feet and leaned on the opposite ropes. Peggy really did a good number on her neck and while it would be easy to get back in the game, she wondered if running in was a good idea. Peggy could just counter her and slam her down to get some needed revenge. Not to mention her neck was still killing her. Lyra looked up at Peggy with one eye open and would try to come in for a lockup.

Peggy saw Lyra moving in to grapple and Peggy happily obliged! She grunted and groaned trying to jockey the two of them to the middle of the ring. Peggy hoped to be able to power her way and use her technique to gain an edge and land a couple knees to the abdomen before snapmaring Lyra down in front of her. Peggy would attempt to wedge her shin up against Lyra's back while she was in a sitting position and clasp her hands on Lyra's chin to pull back locking in a reverse chin lock if successful.
