She suspected Rita knew that and was milking her to admit how important she was to her current ideas. “We will. Once the investigation is finished and finds nothing on us; and it won’t, you’ll be free of Celeste and can sign this.” Robin would pull out an envelope and show a contract giving Rita all the time she needed to read it. “Doesn't matter to me if you take the same job or a new one you’ll be compensated by me and offered more money and freedom than Celeste ever gave you. If the current amount there doesn’t satisfy you just say so and I can increase it. It’s up to you to make the smart choice.”

Robin could tell most of that boasting was her angling for a better deal later. If she had backup plans then her reason for sticking with Celeste this long was already pointless. She needed her for an escape route to this sinking ship. But she would let it go for now. Once she signed the contract that mouth would learn what Robin’s generosity could be. “The Silvia’s have forgotten their place so they need to be reminded.
