Countdown to Finale: Toshimi Minami vs Tilde Voclain

This was it. The final qualifier match that Minami needed before her eventual Apex match against Sanae Saitou. It was not a big or grand bout, rather Minami merely asked the bookers to insure she faced off against someone from the heavyweight division, the reasoning behind it being simply to test herself. Well and to intimidate Sanae by doing something she knew that wanna be idol couldn't in defeating someone well outside their weight class, but it was something Minami knew she could do with ease.

So once things had been made official Minami was ready to get going as soon as possible. Wearing her classic purple leotard and boots Minami would roll her neck, ready to twist and break another youngling. Heading to the guerilla position Minami would bounce on her heels as her name was soon called from the rafter, eliciting a mix of cheers and boos from the fans as Minami came out, looking cold and stoic as usual before strutting down the ramp, a light sway to her hips as she looked at the ring coldly, more than ready to cement her candidacy for Apex. Entering the ring she would pose for a moment before turning to rest against her corner, waiting for her opponent to come down so they can get this show on the road.

Tilde had no plans to compete for apex, her stay at LAW so far has been rather... Humbling, it was not a good word to use here but the more correct version would still not pass through the remains of Tilde's pride. Still, taking on one of the contestants for the open weight belt, even if only a lightweight might be just what she needed to turn things around so when the offer for the match came she accepted without question.

When she finally made it to the stage, the crowd booed her arrival, citing her usual muscle show short. Giving a good ring performance would have to be enough this time around and the French fighter was determined to give it. As she made her way to the ring she would turn to her opponent and just give her a nod as she got ready for the fight.

As she waited for her opponent Minami idly wondered what kind of brat this would be. After all, the only things Minami knew about this Tilde was that she was heavyweight and a relative newcomer to wrestling. So the jury was definitely out.. Soon though Minami would get her answers as her opponent would come out, to even more boos than Minami herself.

What's more though was that Tilde was actually almost the same height as Minami herself which was surprising, but as she drew closer Minami took notice of the sheer rippling muscle mass on the girl. 'That explains her heavyweight status at least.' Minami thought to herself before also taking notice of the measured and stoic entrance of the girl, something rare for newbies... and Minami appreciated the restraint.

So as the girl entered the ring and gave a simple nod of respect Minami would actually return the gesture. Pleasantly surprised at the attitude of the girl and definitely appreciative as she got herself into a stance, ready for the bell to ring.

"DING!"

The bell sounded to signal the start of the round and Tilde was already barreling towards Minami with considerable speed. What she knew about her opponent was that she was a submission specialist so the goal was to put some early pressure on and force her on a defensive and not let her get a good hold of Tilde. That at least sounded doable given how light the girl was, get a hold of her first, then give some flying lessons.

To open this fight, Tilde bend over at the last stretch of her charge to drive her shoulder into her opponent's stomach and pin her against the corner. That would be followed by wrapping her arms around her midsection and lifting up to deliver a backdrop into the centre of the ring!

Not long after the bell rang did Minami's opponent come charging like a bull. Clearly keen on leveraging that raw power of hers against Minami early. "Tsk, predictable." Minami said to herself before breaking into a run herself, shocking many as she seemed to want to meet Tilde halfway despite the power and size disparity between them!

However it was all part of the plan. Right as Tilde barreled towards her Minami would turn to the side, lifting her legs up to catch one of Tilde's and pull to the side, aiming to bring the woman down to the mat with all her momentum carrying her down with a drop toe hold! If successful in connecting this Minami would immediately sit up while grabbing the leg she caught with own and pulling up, aiming to try and lock in a single legged Boston Crab right out of the gate!

Her plan fell flat before it could even take off and so did she. All the power she wanted to use against Minami now made her crush down to the mat, making her slightly dizzy. When she shook it off, however, she found herself already being locked in a hold that made her groan in pain and hit the mat with her fist.

She wasn't going to go down that easily, however. Reaching back with one hand she'd try to grab one of the other woman's ankles and pull. At the same time, she was attempting to pull her free leg under herself to along with her other hand try and push up which along with the pull she hoped would be enough to get her free.

Almost immediately Minami had found a way to secure a boston crab on her opponent, getting herself set up right away to start working on the leg of the larger and stronger girl. Still, despite the rather bullheaded first approach it seemed as if Tilde wasn't totally devoid of ring awareness.

Feeling a tug on her ankle it wouldn't be long before Minami was pulled off of her opponent! Despite this though Minami wasn't letting go of Tilde's leg, in fact despite getting pulled off, Minami would throw her legs up, wrapping them around Tilde's legs completely before twisting on the girl's foot to try and lock in a leg bar and ankle lock combo!

That wasn't good, not good at all. Seeing where the hold was progressing too, Tilde knew if it got locked in she would have mere seconds to tap, or if her opponent just wanted to, she could break her leg like a matchstick. To counteract that she would get her foot behind Minami's knee to push, hoping that it would be enough to unwrap her legs and put a stop to the pressure on her leg.

If that worked she would then scoot away and try to get to her feet. Now she knew she would have to be a lot more careful if she wanted to even last in this fight.

Minami was known far and wide as the Venus of Submissions for a reason. Thousands of holds she knew like the back of her hand. How to apply them, how to break them, how to transition between them. The latter is where she shined in the most, especially when it came to moves that targeted limbs and joints.

As such despite the fact she was thrown off from the Boston Crab she was extremely quick to go right into a leg bar attempt. But admittedly... Tilde showed some impressive technical skill, using her leg to push at her own and Minami's to break the move up right away.

Sitting up and watching as her opponent rolled away Minami would hum before giving a slight nod to her opponent. Actually impressed at the skill displayed before standing up and preparing herself for the next clash, preferring to wait and play defense against her opponent who seemed pretty offense oriented.

Rushing head-first into this fight backfired already not to mention submissions being out of the picture given her opponent's specialty. Tilde had to think fearfully about her next move if she didn't want to end up like before.

For now, she approached slowly, hands raised as if going for a tie-up. If she managed to lock up with her opponent she would push, trying to distract her from her real plan as she would suddenly go low to grab her legs and lift before throwing her down in a side slam!
