After Mindy had done the work necessary to make this the big match that she needed to catch everyone's attention the only thing left to do was have the match and win it. The poster she had made was draped around the top of the arena while they waited for Mindy and Alizeh to appear. Instead the lights dimmed out making the area pitch black outside of a few random lights from phones until Mindy's music started to play and the lights kicked back up with Mindy right in the middle of the ring with her jacket and sunglasses on, she slowly removed the sunglasses and winked at the cameras before slowly removing the jacket as well and tossing it in the crowd. Despite her recent actions Mindy's popularity had been good enough that she was still getting mostly cheers in the ring, something that brightened her smile smile while she moved around the ring with the swagger that Mindy had been known for.

"Months of training and work have brought me this far, my brutal victory over the vile Oboro Scarlett showed you that I'm willing to bleed and scrap to achieve victory! I'll defeat anyone, good or evil without letting those of less or greater morals stop me from pushing forward! And once I'm the champion the reign of Midnight will show everyone how far you can go under the cold darkness of the night!" Mindy said. She stood tall waiting for Alizeh to show up and get at her. The Emerald storm had a number of issues with her, but Mindy was only focused on how she could use that to her advantage. That mindset led her to this, while Alizeh would waste time on silly things like revenge Mindy would find stardom once again.

Tonight was the night. Moment of truth. Everything over the last year had led to this moment. The battles with Chelsea, Viviana, Rei, and Sanae, the humiliation at the hands of her opponent tonight, all the war of words and intensity between. Everything would come down to tonight With Alizeh putting all she had learned to the test against Mindy Midnight, the winner would stand atop Apex and may possibly be the winner of the openweight belt. The other... well Alizeh wasn't even about to think about that, she couldn't afford to. No matter what it took, how much pain, humiliation, and anger it cost her, she would win, no matter what. So she wore something special tonight to match the way she was feeling, as well as the heights this match had been taken too.

Unlike Mindy the lights didn't go out for Alizeh, rather they flickered, the crackle of lightning from her entrance music making the whole arena's lights flicker before fireworks went off for Alizeh's entrance. Already the differences between the two women was being made clear, Mindy's entrance shrouding her in shadows while Alizeh's came with her engulfed in light. Then Alizeh appeared at the top of the ramp, wearing an outfit she had been sitting on for a while, for the day she became champion, so it was a bit premature, but that was ok.

Because tonight was the night Alizeh made her case to be champion, so it would do. Making her way down the ramp as her song continued Alizeh would have a serious look on her face directed at Mindy the whole time until she made it to the ring. Entering it calmly Alizhe would remove the the back skirt she had as well as the feathery cape from her entrance and tossing them out of the ring before stepping forward, getting right in Mindy's face out of the gate. "This ends tonight." Alizeh said seriously as the last vestiges of her song cleared out leaving the two in silence as even the crowd sat still, the loud cheering from Alizeh's entrance halted by the anticipation of the two women in the ring now being face to face.

After her entrance, Mindy was left waiting for the arrival of Alizeh Midori, and the Stormy Emerald finally showed herself after a bit of anticipation and flair fitting the final battle this had been advertised to be. Mindy knew that the fans had seen her as the villain of this story and played into it the entire time, Alizeh saw her as a monster without redemption and that worked for her too. She wouldn't need a marvel of a match to become champ, she just needed everyone's eye and she had done that already. Mindy wondered how long she had been keeping this outfit under wraps, and if it was done to upstage her, something she wouldn't allow at the big moment she had worked so hard to set up after the meeting at the charity event. Of course she would hide those thoughts when Alizeh stepped close and made some final statements. She wanted to play tough, Mindy would play it casually.

"That's why it's called Apex. It all ends here." Mindy said, then just because she thought it would be funny leaned in and kissed Alizeh on the mouth. For however long that would last before she pulled away. "You're not going to carry some grudge forever right? We only need to keep this up until this is over and I'm champion." Mindy said as if this was another part of the show, to her it all was.

This was it, everything came down to this and Alizeh was showing it in everything. From her expression and energy to even the clothes she was wearing. The look of a champion. All in the face of Mindy who, as petty as Alizeh felt for even thinking it, was intent on showing up Mindy in every possible way. Including her look. Still it didn't exactly seem to phase the black haired woman, rather she seemed amused by things more than anything. Not that Alizeh expected to rock her or anything, but that was fine by her.

Saying her rather simple piece to Mindy the woman of course felt the need to mock her, but she would take things a step further by closing the distance and kissing Alizeh. Something that Alizeh surprisingly returned, albeit in a minimalistic way. To the point that when they pulled away Alizeh had the same stoic expression as before, despite the fact she kissed back. "Hmph. So you're as bad a kisser as you are an actress." Alizeh shot towards the woman, ignoring her words for now before spitting to the side, as if to wipe the taste of Mindy's lips from her mouth before focusing on Mindy again. "Though you're at least good enough to fool yourself into thinking you'll become champion after tonight, let alone beat me." Alizeh said, her eyes narrowing into a more focused glare, boring into Mindy's eyes as she prepared herself for the moment the bell would ring.

Mindy's kiss was returned but with only a passionless minimal effort from Alizeh who quickly let out another insult and spat to the side, taking the chance to insult Mindy more after pulling it off. "Don't be shy, my fan club is crowded but we can make room for you if you lighten up." Mindy said, still acting casual and downplaying the insult about her kissing skills, and her acting. Mindy knew to expect those insults but being a bad kisser was a new thing to take, of course from Alizeh it only meant that the green haired wrestler was going to stay mad at her the entire time, staring her down while she told her through her eyes how much she wanted to kick her ass.

"You got the fire down but nothing else cooking. How do you come down in an attire like that but seem so focused on just beating me? Wake up Alizeh, half of this wrestling thing is the showmanship, but you're dressed like a bird but growling at me like a bulldog. That won't win you the title or get you noticed even with an attire like that. Unlike a Midnight sensation like me." Mindy said lowering her sunglasses and tossing them at Alizeh while she would sit back in her corner waiting for the bell just like Alizeh.

Truth be told Mindy actually wasn't bad a kisser. Any other day or any other opponent and Alizeh would have rather enjoyed that. But today, against this woman, Alizeh wouldn't ever admit that, nor would she back down from her in any way, shape or form. This was all about who's will was greater and stronger, who could outlast the other and bring them down for good, and Alizeh would be damn sure Mindy was the one going down tonight while she rose higher.

Mindy firing back and insulting the way her attire clashed with her attitude was to be expected though. After all Alizeh knew Mindy would seek any and all ways to discredit and devalue Alizeh but the green haired girl wouldn't have it. Catching Mindy's sunglasses out of the air with one hand Alizeh would squeeze them until they broke within her grasp before tossing the broken remains. All without so much as taking her eyes off of Mindy. "What will win me the title is kicking you're ass right here and now. The outfit was just so I looked good while doing it. I just hope you're fan club will still be around when I turn you black and blue literally, not just as a stupid nickname." Alizeh said, ready for the bell to ring as it seemed there had been enough talk... it was time for the main event.

Mindy looked at Alizeh explain her plan and sighed, she would need to work on this more if she ever wanted to be a memorable top champion. "You can tell yourself that, When you keep getting passed over for title shots you'll see my advice as sagely." Mindy said while the ref kicked out the broken remains of what used to her sunglasses that Alizeh broke with her hands...which might have been Alizeh telling her what shape she intended Mindy to be in when she got her hands on her, or just Alizeh breaking anything she touched. Honestly Mindy didn't want to get too deep into any of Alizeh's thoughts right now since she could sense she was a hot subject with her.

"This cold shoulder thing is killing the mood. You should be telling these people how you want to rip me in two." Mindy said while she moved back to her corner and sat in waiting. "Hear this Alizeh Midori, whatever storm you bring will never see the sun, it'll be snuffed out in darkness without anyone around to gaze upon it's wonder but me!" Mindy said pointing at Alizeh to kill the time until the bell rang to let the two get into it, finally allowing Alizeh to put her hands on the one person she hasn't been able to touch this entire time.

It was clear how different Alizeh and Mindy were in every way, but especially their attitudes. Alizeh was serious, only focused on one things, tearing Mindy apart and showing why she deserved her spot here and as the first openweight champion, Mindy meanwhile was focused on belittling her and playing to the crowd. Using this match as nothing more than clout for her name. It honestly sickened Alizeh... But she would see that this all ended today one way or another.

"I don't have to tell them anything cause my actions will speak for me." Alizeh shot back in response to what Mindy, ignoring the last of what she said in favor of crouching and raising her fists in preparation as the bell would finally ring, giving Alizeh the freedom to do to Mindy what she had been waiting to do for the longest time. Rushing forward to the dark haired beauty Alizeh's fist was raised, seemingly for a punch, only as Alizeh neared she would pull down instead, twisting her body up and through the air to start this match off dynamically with a step up enziguri to the head rather than a grapple!

Mindy looked at Alizeh's continued disrespect for her way of doing things with another nasty look. "You know you're working overtime to be a buzzkill. Would it kill you to make something happen for the cameras?" Mindy said waving at the people on the outside recording what should be an epic battle. She didn't get time to complain more when the bell rang and Alizeh came running at her, making Mindy step back wondering what her next move was. The move seemed to change from motion to motion, looking like a punch which Mindy prepared to duck, then a grapple for which Mindy would need to get her arms up and ready for, only to turn into a big enziguri after she jumped from her low position.

"Tcggh!" Mindy groaned when the kick struck her head, making her back up and lean on the ropes. Her hand started to furiously scratch her wounded head while she looked up at Alizeh wondering what she was doing next, if the Emerald storm was going to rush her like that she couldn't stay in one spot like this, but leaving the ring this early was cowardly and bad for her look if she wanted to be champ. If she couldn't counter what came next, she would be stuck in the ring with Alizeh.
