- Joan is a pretty traditional grappler and powerhouse wrestler. She relies on her great strength and technical skill to bring her opponents down or lift them up. She prefers to perform slams and utilize submission holds where she can make use of her strength. She relies quite heavily on being able to soak up a lot of damage and then dish out even more.

Her way of approaching a match is usually by analyzing her opponent, feeling them out in the start and ramping things up at a steady pace. Taking a match much like a battlefield and seeing herself as a general who has to find a weakness to exploit within the enemy lines.

Joan is first and foremost a Face type wrestler. She fights honorably and will not stoop to any dirty tactics. She abides by the rules and plays fair. Though as mentioned she is all too willing to exploit a weakness if she finds one. It is only right after all, to take advantage of the shortcomings of one's enemies in order to overcome them. Being a powerhouse wrestler she makes use of her strength quite often, to slam and squeeze out her opponent. She is quite a fan of using her very powerful thighs as well, to crush her opponents waist or head in scissor holds.

Jeanne Fredrica De Latimer Hastings, much as her name might suggest, is a pure-breed highborn. Belonging to a long line of aristocracy that can trace their lineage back over ten generations. She’s grown up quite wealthy and one could say she was born with a silver spoon in their mouth. She is the second oldest child to two somewhat distant parents, Jonathan and Wilhelmina. Her older brother pretty much filled the role that they wanted for the family, an upright child with the smarts and charisma fitting for their family.

Jeanne though, she was a different story. She was supposed to fill the role of a second child, in essence a backup for the family line. Failing that it was always good to strengthen the families legacy by incorporating more wealth and familial ties. They still have a rather old-timey mindset in that regard. Her parents wanted her to grow up into a fine young lady and marry into a fellow house of nobility and grow the family's legacy even in this modern age. Though that wasn’t something that suited Joan. From a young age she was a fairly rowdy child, willful and someone who simply did as she pleased. She was often called a tomboy by the other kids. She played in the garden, she fought with the boys, she wrestled and did very active activities, such as running about in the woods.

The older she got the more it became apparent that she wasn’t going to be as easily controlled as they wanted, so her parents gave up on those attempts of controlling her. While still having her receive the finest education, they came to understand after many trial and error, that Joan had too strong of a will to be contained by them. Those early years were rough, fraught with conflict between the young Joan and her parents. Her brother, though, always took her side. He defended her right to want to live the life she wanted and accepted to shoulder the responsibilities of the family.
When Joan reached her early teens, she was already a rather accomplished athlete. From her young age she had been active in many sports and she had grown even more active with the years and following her parents softening their grip on her life. She found herself becoming interested in history and languages and as such began to focus on studying these things rather avidly. She began learning Farsi, Hindi, Cantonese, French and Japanese. As well as Latin. It took many years to master these but she has reached a level of fluency or near-fluency in all. Her love for history trailed off from the ancient period which she started with, all the way up to the crusades, where it stopped. Reading about the Crusades instilled Joan with a sense of adventure and joy, she began reading fiction and myths surrounding it…becoming rather entrenched in the glorification of the Crusaders.

Furthermore, as she reached the age of thirteen she found a sport she decided to dedicate all of her focus into. That was Olympic wrestling. While she had practiced it from an earlier age, it wasn’t until the age of thirteen that she made it into her focus in terms of sports. She began to excel in the sport and would win a handful of gold medals, regional, national and transcontinental medals for her age group. It was rare for her to at least not take third place in a tournament or competition.

When she reached the age of sixteen, Jeanne spent a year in Japan as a transfer student. At this time, she discovered many things. The most important of which was Pro-wrestling. She also came across something else of near equal importance…the first person she’d come to call a rival: Karina Rine. Pretty much at the same time. Joan would become increasingly interested in wrestling during this year and especially pro-wrestling. At the time she would also clash multiple times with the headstrong Karina Rine, both women engaging in friendly and not so friendly competitions of all kinds. Though primarily it came down to wrestling….

On the day when Joan had to leave Japan and end her year as a transfer student, Karina and Joan decided to have a no holds barred rival bout in the ring. It was an intense duel which lasted for almost twenty minutes…ending with Joan locking Karina into a bear-hug to end all bear-hugs…and with it getting a submission out of her rival. Leaving triumphant, Joan told Karina that she’d return some day for them to continue their rivalry.

When she returned to England, Joan began to look for any opportunity she could to get into pro-wrestling. Though her attention was split between that and her little less than one year old baby sister, whom she helped take care of for a while. She wrestled in her spare time, as she focused her studies on history and languages, entering into a small time indie league and growing quite a cult following for herself.

She took on the name of the The Crusader, and began to solely refer to herself as Joan instead of her full name.When she reached eighteen years of age and graduated she continued her wrestling career more actively than before, but she also split it with her time in college. She took a BA in history at Cambridge university, all the while she was building up her career as a wrestler…from the bottom to the top. Her reputation grew and soon enough she was quite famous in the British wrestling circuit.

After she graduated, Joan took a full year of wrestling throughout Europe. Clashing with a whole host of impressive wrestlers. She faced off against a young blue haired woman who called herself the Paladin and hit it off with her, as well as a fierce blonde. She even faced off against a legendary Swedish wrestler in Aurora Lund. Her career in Europe was skyrocketing her…and with only a year of full-time pro-wrestling under her belt, she was offered to join LAW. Clearly she was a prodigious talent who had been working hard to achieve the level she was at and LAW seemed to want her within their ranks. Seeing this as an opportunity to make good on her promise with her old rival who helped get her interested in this career path to begin with, Joan instantly agreed to join LAW…and set off to Japan yet again.


▌ Personality

Headstrong, that is an easy way to define Joan. She is confident and wilful. A kind woman who has grown to value aspects of chivalry and honor since a young age. She is earnest and truthful in her approach and can be quite easy to get along with. Outside of the ring, she is always willing to strike up a conversation and discuss matters with people regardless of her knowledge on the subject. She will of course be mostly asking questions if her information is lacking and seek to learn. She mostly has a rather warm demeanor to her, and can be something of a caretaker to people close to her.

When it comes to her in-ring personality though. She has much of those qualities here but more focused for the battlefield. She can come across as cocky and confident. Willing to display her prowess, while having a tactical approach to each match. She shows her had strong nature rather often in a match. She is usually willing to wrestle or compete with almost anyone, being a spirited young warrior like she is.

Her sense of justice and honor disallows her from partaking in vile acts such as cheating. Though it doesn't do anything from allowing her to compete in nearly any match she wants. Joan is the kind that will answer almost any challenge as long as it is a fair one done in good faith, and even if it isn't her stubborn nature might just get the better of her. She is on a constant path of improvement, trying to challenge greater heights. She can take defeats rather hard, as she is rather hard on herself when it comes to her own abilities...but she believes in always coming back, always challenging herself and always trying to overcome difficulties.
