Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
Success. After the playful dancing around her which Korra found to be annoying she ended up grabbing hold of her legs to bring her down and trapping her. “Will that lip save you down here?” Both hands raised and ready to knock her out when Fabulous grabbed one of her arms and entrapped it. This stalled her idea but Korra was ready to handle it and instead of staying in a mount she would push up on her legs and walk around so that she was laying across her body from the side and could better fight her grip until Fabulous changed it to a key lock. Korra could tell she was looking to trap her arm and raised the arm she still had to elbow Fabulous in the face.

Doctor Fabulous grunted in pain as she tried to manipulate that arm of Korra into a hold. She knew she was in a bad spot, and she was trying her damnedest to keep her more powerful foe from continuing the attack. "No... it rarely does. But I have a pleasant voice, at least," retorted the Doctor as she was close to applying the key lock in full. And then, she finally had it applied, keeping that one arm occupied and unable to strike back at her.
And then, shockingly, she was nailed in the face with an elbow strike. The impact left Fabulous reeling, instantly releasing the arm and rolling over and away from Korra with a loud groan. One hand would hold her face while the other propped up her upperbody. She was happy to have just gotten away from Korra in the immediate, but she was still stunned from the blow.

Pleasant as that voice may be it wasn’t blocking a punch. Fabulous was fighting to avoid Korra’s wrath and that could only work for so long when she was on the floor rolling to find some safe place to be. It wasn’t in this ring. If she wanted safety she needed to be 100 miles away from her. She was back on Fabulous and this time she was going to wrap her arm around her head and arm for a shoulder hold. Fabulous could keep fighting all she wanted, a hold like this would let her hold Fabulous close and choke her out while her weight kept her down and unable to slip out like she had been doing every time Korra lifted her up.

With a grunt and groan, Doctor Fabulous felt herself being ripped into another hold, the strong arms of Korra around her head and arm. "Aaaah... Nnnn..." said the blonde, trying to stifle any groans of pain as she closed her eyes tight. It was painful, starting to be suffocating. And it was a basic hold that was doing exactly what it needed as the Doctor was struggling to immediately try to break free.
Putting her own body through all the movements for an easy break, Doc Fab was unable to find one. Korra wasn't all just brawn--she had her submission know-how too. And with a groan, she knew she had to fight back and quick. It require a less fancy solution, as it often would. With her free hand, she began to feel back for Korra's face, patting around until she found her chin. And then, Fabulous would place her palm against the underside of Korra's chin, pushing back hard. And then, she would start to thrust her palm into the underside of Korra's chin repeatedly, just trying to force a break from her. It was enough to hurt and surely be uncomfortable. She didn't trust a simple blow, but doing it this way would make for a more dire situation for her opponent as Doc was still suffering in the hold.

Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
Korra’s weight kept the smaller Fabulous on the mat and forced to contend with the crushing hold threatening to choke her out. Korra placed herself perfectly to make sure the pressure was around the head and throat and she couldn’t be pushed over even if Fabulous was strong enough to do that. She left no easy outs for the doctor and would make her work to escape or pass out under the Enforcer. It was only the quick thinking of the doctor to force her hands under Korra’s chin and palm at her to push her head up that started to save her. One push didn’t work, yet Fabulous planned several to slowly bring her head up and keep Korra off her. The slow attempt to peel her off took the weight off the suffering doc and created some space that Korra was unable to close getting pushed like this even as she continued to try.

Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
Breathing began to get more difficult. The Doctor's muscles began to ache far more. But she was doing her best to try pushing Korra away from her more to get a break with well-placed palm strikes to the underside of her larger foe's chin. Eventually, she was able to start getting more space, though it was still difficult for her in the hold. Grunting, she knew she had enough space to finally make an escape though and she first pivoted her body to swing to the one side of Korra, out from under her. Then, she pushed her front up with her free hand, then she hopped her legs up, putting herself at a an angle as her feet were flat on the ground and her lower half stuck in the air. It made Korra holding onto her in that hold harder.
But Doc Fab still had one thing left to do. Having gotten a bit more leverage, she moved her other hand used to push Korra away initially and then reared it back. Then, she began slamming forearm strikes directly to the back of Korra's head. She figured after enough, she could force a release from her burly opponent. No matter how tough she was, there were only so many unprotected shots to the back of the head she could take.

Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
The slight gaps in her once tight hold were all that was needed for it to slowly fall. Fabulous slipped out of Korra’s grasp because her palm strikes made it hard for Korra to look down and see what she was up to until she was out of danger. Still in the hold while more to the side and no longer choking. Once again she showed that that big brain of hers worked for wrestling holds. Korra would turn and pull on Fabulous to keep her from escaping only to find Fabulous using her forearm and hitting Korra’s skull from behind! The forearm forced Korra’s head towards the mat with a wince. The easiest place to rattle someone’s brain was going for for that spot. Something she doubted Fabulous was unaware of while she was hammering Korra’s head. She would try to turn it but by this point the pain had forced her eyes closed and she couldn’t turn away enough. Even if the forearm didn’t hit directly it was wide enough to still smash her face in and it’s not like they were weak strikes, even if they only hit the side of her head they still hurt like hell. “Damn you.” Korra knew what she had to do. With Fabulous on her like this her defense was worthless. All that she could do was turn more herself and push at Fabulous to break the hold. Once both hands were free they would be ready to defend herself from whatever may come next.

Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
Forearm after forearm came down onto Korra's head from the good Doctor as she tried to force an escape, eyes closed tight. And then finally, she felt the relief release from her own head, letting out a loud gasp for air as she rolled away, holding her neck. She grit her teeth and then continued to roll until she got to the ropes, slinging an arm over the middle one. "Not as... smooth as I would like to escape from those sort of holds," remarked Fabulous, rolling her neck and wincing slightly.
Then, she would get to her feet. "Turns out that head of yours might not have been as hard as I expected though." With a grin, the blonde winked at her opponent, tapping her head once. She would take that moment to recover though. She was at her best with time and space to make a new attack, and being winded and pouncing on Korra would do her no favors. For now, she took the moment to catch her breath as well with a reset.

Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
Taking forearms unanswered would leave many fighters busted and bloodied. Open to further attacks now that they had revealed a weakness to exploit. Korra wasn’t gushing any blood to speak of thankfully and she would try to use that to simmer her anger for the use of them by the doctor trying to make a smooth exit from her deserved punishment. “Not dumb enough to give you free shots. You’ll have to pay for each one those and it looks like you don’t have insurance. Guess this coming out of your paycheck.” The restraints were coming off. Whatever was going on now was a dance of caution from both of them. Korra’s fighter instincts and Fabulous’ own evaluation of the situation both told them that rushing things would risk falling into the others trap. Now Korra decided that caution was costing her and the satisfaction of watching her opponent laid out in tears and pain was too good to hold off on anymore. It had to be now while Fabulous was truly winded and worried about what might happen. She threw it out there and rushed low to close in like an animal trying to snag her with her arms so she could lift Fabulous up and lean backwards to smash her to the floor.

Re: Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer
Doctor Fabulous had pulled herself up with help of the ropes and shook her head clear, watching Korra closely. She couldn't help but let out a chuckle as the powerhouse had made a quip in her direction. "Well, you do have jokes after all," remarked the Doctor. But she could tell by Korra's posture and her demeanor something had changed. She was feeling more frustrated, likely from those forearm strikes. Fair, Doc Fab measured. They had to hurt like hell. But it did exactly what she wanted: it made her sloppy.
It was now or never, and if there was anything that Doctor Fabulous was good at, it was analyzing and coming at a situation at the right moment when her foes got less prepared. As Korra came at her with a furious rage, looking like she was going to go low, Doc Fab did the same, stepping forward abruptly as the dark-skinned girl came right at her. She pulled her arm back before blasting it low and upward towards Korra's face and nose with an Uppercut Palm Strike she called the Prescription! She was going to get one good hit on this girl and show it didn't take just brute strength to hit a good strike.
