Skylar climbed over Cecilia without a second thought, placing a hand on her friend's thigh to support herself as she spoke to the operator. Being the bottomless pit that she was, she ordered an outrageous number of McDoubles, before asking Cecilia what she wanted. Tilting her head at her partner's flabbergasted response, "Uh, no, it's for me. That's why I asked what you wanted. I'm buyin', if you're worried about money." She replied, hoping to calm Cecilia down. Like Skylar, Cecilia had grown up poor, so perhaps her unfortunate past experiences had caused her to be extra cautious with money. Sky could sympathize, though looking at her atrocious financial status, it was obvious she hadn't developed the same habits. But still, Sky understood, and she didn't want her friend to worry. This meal was all on her. "What were you about to say you wanted?"
Once they had their food, the two would stop in the parking lot to eat. In only a couple minutes, Cecilia would notice Sky had already eaten two of her five double cheese burgers. "Do you believe in aliens?" She asked as she began to unwrap her third.

Re: A Night on the Road
Cecilia's forehead slumped against the wheel as she let out a long, low sigh, one that caused her entire body to deflate in her seat. At the very least, she wouldn't have to worry about paying for such a huge order if Skylar was going to take care of the money - but then, that was the least of her concerns right now. She was all too begrudgingly reminded of how long such an order would take to prepare, and that was cutting back at a time frame that was already growing too slim for Cecilia's liking. But more to the point...she was baffled by just how much Skylar was willing to eat in one sitting. She'd been traveling alongside Sky for some time now, and she didn't think she'd ever fully understand her.
Caught up in her own thoughts, Cecilia wasn't thinking about what she was going to order, up until Skylar reminded her. With a groan, she sat back up. "Look, I...I don't fucking know. A Big Mac, I guess. Just don't make this hard."
Fortunately, Skylar behaved herself at the register, and soon they pulled into the parking lot to eat. Cecilia unwrapped her burger and took a few bites, only to look back at Skylar a moment later to see that she had already downed two of hers faster than she could even follow. She raised an eyebrow to her in bewilderment. Honestly...a part of her was kind of impressed, but it was still baffling. "How...did you just do that-!?"
Skylar, on the other hand, quickly changed the subject, something that made Cecilia let out a sigh with a grumble as she sank back into her seat. "We won't ever get an answer, will we?" she said. Sitting back further, she turned her head up, staring out at the night sky - and all of its stars twinkling overhead.
"Aliens, huh? I mean, I guess, in an infinite universe, they'd have to be out there somewhere. But I can't say I've ever had reason to care." As she spoke her words, she smirked a little. Maybe Sky was an alien. It'd explain a lot.

Re: A Night on the Road
Skylar sank her teeth into her third cheese burger, chewing up the food and swallowing, as Cecilia voiced her bafflement. "Uhhhh, I was hungry." She replied, not knowing what better answer to give Cecilia.
She started on the topic of aliens, something Sky wholeheartedly believed in, and to an extent, Cecilia seemed to agree. Frankly, it was far more ridiculous to think that in an infinite universe, Earth was truly the only planet to host any form of life, then it was to think that extraterrestrial life existed out there. "Honestly? I bet aliens have been watching us for a long time." She swallowed the last bite of her burger. "Like, when JFK said we were gonna walk on the moon? They felt threatened by that. That's why they shot him."

Re: A Night on the Road
"Mm. Right." Sky had gone off on a tangent, and while Cecilia might have been willing to entertain her at least a little, she was growing more and more unhinged. She gave her an odd look as she finished her burger, then let out a sigh and rubbed her forehead as she leaned over the dashboard. Well, no one could say that Skylar's delusions weren't interesting, at least.
Cecilia took a moment to think on it - how, if she and Sky had never formed a tag team, she would never have learned all of the things she believed in. Through all their conversations on the road, in between towns, she'd gotten to know her well, perhaps more so than anyone else in LAW knew Skylar aside from her own mother. If not for her, she'd still be driving these roads alone. And while it would be a lot quieter, while it would give her more time to lose herself in her own head...perhaps there was something to having Skylar to ground her. To keep her thoughts from going all the dark places they went when she thought too long about herself, and her past, and her desire to prove herself.
Well, grounding her was a bit of a strong word. "And how do you explain the fact the moon doesn't have an atmosphere if there are aliens there? Or...are you one of the people who thinks they faked the moon landing, too?" Groaning, she crumpled up the wrapper of the burger she'd just eaten and tossed it on the seat behind her. "...On second thought, don't answer that. You probably do."
Letting out another sigh, Cecilia's eyes once again turned to the sky, watching the twinkling of the stars, and looking all the way out to the horizon. "Okay, on that note...I know people get touchy about this, but what about religion? You believe in God?"
