▌ Attitude
- Kyo is usually quiet and soft-spoken, not given to bragging or trash-talk aside from the occasional sarcastic quip. He is usually polite, courteous, and sometimes even friendly with his opponents, but all bets are off if they ever display heelish or cheating behaviour. For all of his good-natured attitude, he also has a strong sense of competition, and won't hold back against any opponent, no matter who they are. He also has a strong regard for fair play and for the rules of the sport, and it is partly because of his straight-laced nature that he is often jokingly called a shonen protagonist by others.
However, while Kyo isn't (usually) shy around girls, he is easily taken off guard or left confused if a female opponent uses sexual tactics or distractions against him. Even common flirtation is sometimes enough to throw Kyo off. It is mainly because of this that he avoids hentai matches (though he also maintains that it is because he respects the boundaries of his female opponents, and does not think that hentai belongs in a wrestling ring).
▌ Strategy
- Kyo is an extremely versatile fighter, who will often switch up his fighting style to better counter that of his opponent. In the ring he is quiet and analytical, and he is adept at thinking on his feet. Hismain background is in kendo, judo and technical grappling, and so he is well versed in a variety of submission holds; his general often will be to either immobilize his opponent and force a tap out, or to wear them down to the point where they cannot fight back effectively. Kyo isn't purely a submissionist, however, and where possible likes to remain flexible enough to adjust both to his opponent's style. Indeed, his kendo background comes into play as he is quite adept at reading his opponent's fighting style and developing effective counters, to the point where in some matches even more powerful opponents have struggled to land a decisive blow against him.

Spoiler
A move that Kyo has spent a lot of time perfecting, where he catches an opponent's striking arm or leg with his own, and spins, countering their move by trying to take them down in a sudden arm or legbar.
Spoiler
A method Kyo adopted as a counter to being suplexed or slammed by larger opponents-- essentially, a swinging neckbreaker designed to leave the foe utterly stunned.
Spoiler
A series of precise forearm chops aimed at the opponent's forehead, aimed to disorient and stun them.
Spoiler
Kyo elevates his opponent over his shoulder, seemingly going for a suplex. Instead, however, he suddenly drops them down, and immediately sets them up for a camel clutch or cross face.
Spoiler
Kyo locks in a boston crab, and then traps his opponent's wrist as well, bending their back painfully in a modified tequila sunrise.
Spoiler
With his opponent facedown, Kyo interlocks their legs with his own in a reverse figure four leg lock, before grabbing for their wrists to pull back on them, adding pressure to their back and shoulders. For good measure, he will also rotate their bodies sideways, to minimize his opponent's ability to escape.
Spoiler
A cross legged butterfly choke, designed to wear his opponent down
- Hiki Waza
Spoiler
A simple but effective stretch muffler, designed to severely hamper the opponent's mobility if not force them to tap.
Spoiler
a savate kick to the opponent's temple, aimed to knock them out and leave them ready for a pinfall
Spoiler
A modified Romero special/dragon sleeper, with Kyo tuckin his opponent's legs under his, trapping their head under his armpit, and elevating his opponent while stretching them
▌ Favored Match type
- Prostyle, submission
Physical Stats
Endurance★★★☆☆
Spoiler
Kyo is a tough, tenacious fighter, though he has his limits. Unlike his sister Makie, though, he knows better than to risk a potentially career-crippling injury than to fight on past these limits, unless he is fighting against an opponent whom he is utterly determined not to lose to.
Spoiler
Kyo's muscles aren't for show, and while he may not be able to match the strongest fighters in the league, he can still hold his own in the strength department when it counts.
Spoiler
Kyo's speed and reaction time, sadly, is only average, and he may sometimes struggle to keep up with any high-flyers or strikers he is pitted against: when fighting them, he relies more on technique and strategy than on fighting them at their own game.
Spoiler
Kyo's defense is highly honed, and he is often able to dodge, evade or even counter an opponent's while keeping them at arm's length. He often uses this to his advantage, flat-footing his opponent's assault and then either leaving them reeling with a devastating counter, or ensnaring them in a submission hold. He has also been able to fight or even pull his way out of an otherwise crippling submission hold more than once.
Spoiler
Kyo obsesses over perfecting his technique, to the point where he will sometimes spend more time than is healthy in practice. As such, Kyo's technique is almost, but not quite, flawless, though his form is also too rigid to compensate against imaginative opponents
Wrestling Stats:
Strikes: ★★★☆☆
Spoiler
Though Kyo is hardly a striker, he is still able to punch and kick fairly effectively.
Spoiler
Kyo has a wide and deadly arsenal of joint locks, crushing holds and other moves at his disposal with which to fold his opponents like origami. If Kyo gets you in a submission hold, you're in trouble.
Spoiler
While Kyo is no slouch in the strength department, he is no powerhouse, and is often at a disadvantage against more physically powerful opponents.
Spoiler
Kyo isn't known for his high-flying manouvers, preferring instead to fight in a much more grounded manner on the ring.
What Kyo lacks in raw physical endurance or strength, he will often make up for in skill, especially when it comes to presenting an unbreakable defense. He is constantly keeping his eye open for avenues with which to nail his opponent with an effective counter attack.
Attitude towards Hentai:
"NO. If two opponents wish to do something other than fight, then they can do so in private; the ring is no place for that."

▌ Background
-- Kyo was born to a branch of a fairly well-off, traditionalist family with long roots of nobility stretching back decades. His father was the notorious Keichi "King Crimson" Akamatsu, a pro wrestler who earned no small amount of fame way back in his day. Their mother, Junko, was a talented Kendo champion, nicknamed "the Red Pine Blade" for her choice of kendo stick, who had numerous medals to her name, and who was renowned for her seemingly unbreakable defence when parrying. Kyo, along with his elder brother Toshio and younger sister Makie, grew up from an early age being trained to fight, as well as having to live in the rigours of a household that emphasized traditional Japanese values and customs-- a rigidity that Kyo learned to embrace.
Things changed quickly and tragically, however. When the children were still young, their father broke his neck in a ring accident, and died almost immediately. Ten years later, the siblings' mother also passed after a long battle with cancer. From that point on, the siblings were left on their own, and forced to live with and look after one another.
After their brother Toshio departed to the United States to attend university, Kyo and Makie were left living under the same roof, with Kyo taking it upon himself to protect his younger sister (much to their chagrin). Both siblings, however, still shared the passion for fighting sports that they had inherited from their parents, especially pro wrestling. It was unsurprising, then, that Kyo eventually decided to join a several prostyle leagues, first in Japan, and then in Australia and the United States. After Kyo began to climb the ranks, Makie got sick of cheering him from the sidelines, and decided to train up to become a wrestler herself.
After his current disbanded, however, Kyo was forced to join the one league that still had spots open: LAW. Although he had heard mixed things about this new league, he was encouraged when he learned that more than a few old acquaintances of his-- including old friends and former opponents-- had migrated to LAW. He was surprised, however, when Makie joined the league soon after him. The two of them quickly formed a tag team together, though each of them ended up fighting in plenty of singles matches as well, with Makie also began to fight in singles matches on her own, quickly getting a reputation as a fast and hard-hitting fighter with a stubborn streak a mile wide.
▌ Trivia
- During his time in an Australian league, Kyo, being the sole Japanese person in the league, quickly gained the nickname of "the Samurai," as much for his overbearing politeness and stoic demeanor as for his nationality. Kyo hated the name, seeing it an annoying Western stereotype, but the name followed him, to the point where people are still calling him "the Samurai" in LAW.
- Despite his soft-spoken demeanor, Kyo is secretly a metalhead, and listens to everything from Japanese metal to symphonic to death metal. Once, while living in America, he nearly spent all of his savings just for the chance to see Metallica in concert
- Kyo is incredibly shy, and uncomfortable with the idea of celebrity or having a fanbase. It is only recently, after a lot of egging from Makie, that he has started doing more to play to the crowd and acknowledge his fans.
- Kyo routinely practices meditation, both before and out of matches. Not only does it help keep him focused, but it has proven to be quite beneficial for his state of mind. In matches, he is often able to maintain a zen-like focus on the match and on his opponent...though it sometimes doesn't work in more lewd situations...
- Kyo is also something of a nerd for classic pro wrestling. His top two favourite wrestlers of all time are Atsushi Onita and Lioness Asuka, though he would comfortably talk anyone's head off for hours over his list of the greatest of all time.
- Though Kyo will never admit to this, he is absolutely terrified of the idea of attempting high-flying moves. The memory of his father breaking his neck after botching a springboard moonsault out of the ring still resonates with Kyo, and the prospect of even attempting any similar moves fills him with dread. It is for this reason that Kyo is especially nervous about how much of a high-flyer Makie is.
- Although Kyo will never admit to this, he finds fit, powerful women to be especially attractive. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why he ends up in matches against them so often.
